We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@Normando91 how many weeks are you?

I’ve been getting these terrible tight vice like cramps lower back and period pain aches in the front too, the baby was flipping mental last night aswell, for hours and it really hurt!!!! Did yours?

TerryRose · 14/06/2021 12:03

@PinkPlantCase ahh great news !!

My due date is today but no signs of labour coming at all , no plug, no cramps , nothing 🤣🙈🙈 I have an appointment Wednesday but just can't see anything happening soon.

41w+1
Baby girl born 13/06/21 02:26 , 8lb 11oz

Labour was so fast, started contractions around 11pm Saturday night as I was going to bed. Tried to go to sleep because I thought it'll be ages yet. Couldn't sleep coming quite close together started timing them around half 11

by midnight the app was saying "you should prepare to go to hospital " called labour line and average contraction was 4 minutes between.

Arrived into the birth suite in the midwife lead ward which looked so lovely with a pool and lights and things.
My waters broke less than 5 minutes of arriving.

Unfortunately there was meconium in them so had to be transferred to labour ward.

Had gas and air , an episiotomy and suction cup to give her a hand out as she was back to back.

She arrived 02:26

AlRRRR · 14/06/2021 12:21

@123feraverto wow!! That’s the labour I want !! Amazing time!!!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/06/2021 12:33

@AlRRRR I've had the exact same symptoms as you!! Period pains really really strong braxton hicks! X

AlRRRR · 14/06/2021 12:35

@AnxiousAnnie86 Ooooo have you? In the front or back?

I didn’t have them in my back with the 1st, all just in the cervix area but these back ones are really intense and strong!!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/06/2021 12:43

@AlRRRR my stomach, my stomach goes rock hard! So so strong. I called triage as I have a c section booked for Friday, they told me to take paracetamol snd see how I go! X

AlRRRR · 14/06/2021 13:07

@AnxiousAnnie86 oooo so what happens if you go into labour , just not have the section ?

Sweetmad · 14/06/2021 13:12

Congratulations to all who have had their babies the last few days. Hope you’re all feeling as well as you can be and enjoying the new born snuggles 💕💕

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/06/2021 14:04

@AlRRRR no if I go into labour they will bring the section forward! I'm just really really hoping she stays put till Friday and everything can go as calmly as possible

AlRRRR · 14/06/2021 14:07

@AnxiousAnnie86 ah okay! Have they been quite frequent?

Normando91 · 14/06/2021 14:08

@AlRRRR I’m 39+1 so still a bit of time. But I’m really hoping something happens this week as I really want to avoid sweep/induction.
Been out walking today getting all the last little bits done that have been on my mind, pelvic area is rather sore now 😅
His movements were a little more painful than usual, felt like he was moving his entire body from one side to the other at one point.

AlRRRR · 14/06/2021 16:23

@Normando91 Oh yes me too!! Hope it all helps!

This was the app I used just the free version

@swiftt looks great

@Waitingforbabypage doing OK, just having the great feeding battle of 2021. He fed all last night, ended up with a little formula and now he's like nahh I'm good when I try to feed

Omg my girl was the same! We managed to feed perfectly fine in hospital but as soon as we got home, my OH being as helpful as ever kinda took over and I literally do not get a look in, now she just refuses my boob- so I'm pumping, feel like a prized friesian cow 🐮

Sitchervice · 15/06/2021 02:25

@Waitingforbabypage we ended up kick starting him on 10ml of Formula and he's eaten from the boob 15mins each boob. I just have no idea if he's getting enough >.< and for me it does hurt me even if latch is correct 😭 Investing in some shields I the hopes that help! (Even expressing hurts 😞) midwives say its just because Im new to this

Bless your heart, my boobs aren't the most sensitive things in the world to start with but it does make me flinch slightly when the pump gets going, not to mention when it hits at the same time as some afterbirth pains. Ouch!
Keep at it as long as you feel you can, definitely try shields, one of my friends swears by them.
Just remember if you decide to switch to formula, it's no big deal, we haven't failed, we got the important days in, and fed is definitely best. Xx

AlRRRR · 15/06/2021 05:38

@Sitchervice feeding is not easy by any means, I really struggled in the beginning with mine, I was mega stressed and people around me made it even harder. I did find applying nipple balm after every single (which was sometimes 1/2 or 1 hour during cluster feeds) really helped, and I had support from the local lactation support group, have you got anything like that near you?

It does take about 6 weeks to settle and get into a routine and I know some people mix feed with formula or express to try ease into it? That said, you’re doing really well, take some deep breathes and check the latch, the nipples do harden after few weeks and if you decide to change to formula, also okay, most important is you and baby aren’t stressed! x

Hello,
Just wondering, if anyone who has given birth already was told their baby was on the large side? Did your baby's birth weight match what the growth scans suggested??

I know they aren't 100% accurate but tomorrow I need to make the decision between an induction or a csection and I have no idea what's best 😬 an early induction was always on the cards due to a blood clot and me needing to stop my blood thinning injections in advance. However, we had an additional growth scan 2 weeks ago as the baby was measuring very large. I have another scan tomorrow and then a doctor appointment to decide what's best. I've just had a worrying phone call with a consultant who proceeded to tell me the potential risks of having a large baby and now I'm not sure if a planned c section would be best if scan tomorrow is still suggesting it's large.
