We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@BabyBumpIncoming I'm in exactly the same situation , I expressed and thought that's lord there and it will take a while for her to drink but it was gone in a flash whereas on the breast, she could literally feed for an hour , I feel like she's on me all the time and only sleeping at night apart from a few 20/ 30 mins naps here and there during the day. I've been trying paced feeding , allowing a few sucks and then lowering the bottle but it's tricky . Maybe there are slow release bottle teats that will help but I'm reluctant in one way to change what I have as I'm afraid she will reject the bottle ,
I was surprised she took it at all.

There is an extended breastfeeding Facebook page that is really helpful so they might have some suggestions hopefully!

TerryRose · 03/08/2021 01:07

@BabyBumpIncoming I realise my reply is no help to you whatsoever but it's kinda good to know others are in the same boat so must be a common problem which hopefully has been solved by others 🤣🙈

AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/08/2021 06:33

@BabyBumpIncoming which bottles are you using? I have tried a bottle a few times and she does the same and then every time has thrown it all back up. We were using tommee tippee, but after a lot of googling I found that most people with that issue started using the NUK ones, so we have bought a few of them and switched to the NUK dummies too so fingers crossed it will work! X

BabyBumpIncoming · 03/08/2021 07:33

@TerryRose I know what you mean, was so proud expressing that much and was so shocked to see it gone in a flash 😂
My LO is the same, sleeps ok at night for 3/4 hours at a time but not much during the day, he is 6 weeks so assuming it's just part of development but who knows!
Yeah I have supposedly slow release ones haha, we will try and persevere and so paced feeding before changing.
I don't have FB, tempted to set one up for BF/baby advice though 🙈

BabyBumpIncoming · 03/08/2021 07:34

@TerryRose meant to ask how old your LO is? Hope your getting on ok ☺️

BabyBumpIncoming · 03/08/2021 08:06

@AnxiousAnnie86 I'm using the tommee tippee anti colic ones as they are supposed to be slow release 🙈 he must have good jaws to drink suck it out so quick haha. I didn't actual do much research into bottles 🙄
Yeah my boy was had quite a few spit ups the other day the first time he had a bottle, was a bit better last night but still some spit ups.
How old is your LO? I hope your BF experience has been good 😊

TerryRose · 03/08/2021 18:07

@BabyBumpIncoming my LO is also 6 weeks !! So this must be part of it as your story sounds identical to mine. I tried feeding her laying her on her side in bed today and she's actually dozed off for a good solid hour which hasn't happened in ages but not sure will
I pay for that tonight then but we will see!

BabyBumpIncoming · 04/08/2021 10:59

@TerryRose think it might be as my boy was up most of the night cluster feeding, most sleep was 3hrs when he first went down 😫 hoping he had longer naps today.

Had a disaster the other night when I had to get my husband to throw out a bottle if expressed milk after not ready the instructions on the bottle warmer. I could have cried 😢

Really struggling to find the time to express between feeds 🤷🏻‍♀️

BabyBumpIncoming · 04/08/2021 11:01

@TerryRose hope the side lying feed / nap didn't come back to haunt you last night 🙈

TerryRose · 06/08/2021 14:25

@BabyBumpIncoming how are you doing ? We had a nightmare day yesterday with trapped wind but calm today thank goodness!

AlRRRR · 06/08/2021 15:01

@BabyBumpIncoming can I just ask why you threw out expressed milk? What happened with the bottle warmer? Just interested
:D

BabyBumpIncoming · 06/08/2021 18:48

@TerryRose another night of cluster feeding, think the most between feeds was an hour last night 😫 glad you're having a nice calm day 😊🤞🏻 it continues

BabyBumpIncoming · 06/08/2021 18:49

@AlRRRR said on the manual/instructions not to leave bottle in it for more than 30mins and ours had been in about an hour & half 😫 hope your LO is doing good

AlRRRR · 06/08/2021 18:52

@BabyBumpIncoming Ohhhh!!!!!! I see, just cause i express all little girls bottles and i never throw it!! If she leaves loads i put back in fridge too precious 😩😩😩😩

BabyBumpIncoming · 06/08/2021 18:55

@AlRRRR wow well done you expressing all her feeds!!! That must be some shift! Yeah i was gutted, if we had just left it at room temp it would have been fine for 6hrs or something. Won't make that mistake again haha.

AlRRRR · 06/08/2021 19:01

@BabyBumpIncoming i cannot do all of them, but manage about 2-3 bottles a day haha I also do formula and some breastfeeds but we never got the hang off EBF tbh, it effected me mentally and she didn’t ever have a deep latch jaha

But i do sometimes warm
up the milk and if she doesn’t have it, i put back on fridge, I cannot risk throwing 4 oz 😩😩😩

Waitingforbabypage · 08/08/2021 16:23

I can't believe our little one is 8 weeks old, it feels like she has been here forever!
She's already outgrown her carrycot part of her travel system and is a few inches away from being too big for her Moses basket-
What is everyone doing when that happens? Am I going to have to brave leaving her in her cot during her day sleeps?
Also feel super sad at packing up clothes that are already too small, she's such a chunk she's already in 3-6 month clothing 😱

OH keeps commenting about keeping stuff "just in case" are we completely mad for already contemplating another baby?! (Will be number 5!! 😱)

AlRRRR · 08/08/2021 16:37

@Waitingforbabypage number 5!!!!! Holey moley!!!!!

Haha mine never has a Moses or carrycot and she just naps wherever in day hahaha if she naps! At night she is in a next to me cot that lasts until 6 months ish

Waitingforbabypage · 08/08/2021 17:55

@AlRRRR i know considering this is number 4, I should know what to do but this is my first "big" baby. All the others stayed in their baskets/cribs until 6 months- but she's honestly so much bigger 😂😂😂

AlRRRR · 08/08/2021 18:12

@Waitingforbabypage oh yea hahaha you probs know more than any of us haha, this is my second and my first hated the Moses basket and anything so I just went straight for the crib and nothing else, mine is 6 weeks but nearly 11lbs as well,

Tangled123 · 08/08/2021 23:44

@AlRRRR 11lbs? That’s so big! My wee girl was only 8lb something at 6 weeks and 0-3 months clothes are still big on her at 7 weeks 😂. Getting weighed again either tomorrow or Tuesday though as she gained weight very slowly in her first month.

She sleeps either on someone or in her carrycot during the day. We put her in a bedside crib at the start of the night, and then I BF her in our spare bed. Our bedside crib will last us a while yet as it’s bigger than most but she probably only has a few weeks left in the carrycot. Not sure what to do when she outgrows it. We have a travel cot but it takes up a lot of space so I don’t want to use it if I don’t have to.

TerryRose · 09/08/2021 21:58

My LO is just 7 weeks and has outgrown all her 0-3 month clothes , she's 11 pounds and had chunky legs and big feet , so cute but so sad packing the clothes away earlier than expected !
Going through a cluster feed again at the moment and battling with wind , the things they don't tell you about EBF!

TerryRose · 10/08/2021 04:53

Went to bed at 11pm hoping for a bit of a break as baby was up since 4am the night before with very few naps during the day, got a two hour break at 9-11pm so fed at 11pm and hoped to get some sleep by 11:30 /midnight ... well it's now 4:52am and she has been continuously nursing all night ... not one minute of sleep..
I can't believe I'm facing into another day of probably continuous feeding on no sleep 😭😭😭

Waitingforbabypage · 10/08/2021 18:12

@AlRRRR Soph was 11lb 12oz 2 weeks ago, she is a right chunky monkey.
I've figured she'll just have to nap in her pushchair for the power naps and for her big sleeps pop her in her cot and invest in decent monitors.

@TerryRose I felt so much sadness at packing her small stuff away :(

Scarftown · 10/08/2021 18:33

@TerryRose. How old? We had this at week 5 it was helping we are now week 7 and the constant feeding has eased. So stick with it will just be a phase and you’ll get through it.
