We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@PinkPlantCase I'm the same, I'm trying to make sure I go somewhere every day or I just get so bored. I've never been good at being unproductive, so not doing much all day is just the worst for me. Have you looked into classes? Unfortunately most of the ones in my area are still virtual or are fully booked, which is annoying.

Sweetmad · 26/07/2021 10:13

@PinkPlantCase I am the same here too. Forever feeling lonely and isolated and not really wanting to leave the house at the moment. When my partner gets home I ask him 100 questions about his day and what happened 😂 I find it hard that I have a baby to talk to all day who cannot yet speak back to me and tell me what he wants so i don’t actually get to speak to anyone really the whole day. Fingers crossed when the weather cools down you can get back out for walks etc xx

Sitchervice · 26/07/2021 11:31

@Sweetmad when it's not baking hot ive gone out for short walks. Just to get out the house, but yet I'm also feeling isolated and husband works in the house o.O

PinkPlantCase · 26/07/2021 11:40

Sorry to here that other ladies are feeling lonely too it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who feels like this though.

@Lovethatjourneyforme the baby groups in my area all seem to be term time so don’t restart again now until September. There’s a local sewing group (not baby related) that I might go to just to have something to do, even if I don’t get any sewing done atleast I’ll get to talk to adults!

I’m going for a walk with my grandad later 🤣 I have a feeling that my grandparents are going to see a lot more of me over the next few months than they used to.

@Sweetmad are you finding it hart to leave the house because of covid or because leaving the house is hard with a baby anyway? My DH was busy on Saturday and had the car, pre covid I would have got the train into the city centre but I chickened out because cases are so high at the minute. Covid seems to just add an extra layer to an already lonely time.

TerryRose · 26/07/2021 14:10

@PinkPlantCase definitely relate to the loneliness! My OH js out of the house and doesn't get home til about 9pm /10pm so not getting much time together , I can't really leave the house as my baba is feeding constantly so no routine as such yet , we had a bit of routine for about 2 weeks but with the heat it's really thrown us off , but I think babies go through a growth spurt between 4-6 weeks and she's just over 5 weeks so that might explain it .

Definitely get out if you can , even a short walk

Fishingforhappiness · 27/07/2021 10:56

Hi ladies.
There ls a big growth spurt between 6-8 weeks and with the heat little Pea was back to newborn cluster feeding. We are now 8 weeks and last night she only woke once at 2.45 and didn't get up til 6! I woke about 4 times to check she's alive Blush. I'm hoping we are now on a up and it wasn't a one off. I hope it gives some of you a little hope!! I get the loneliness. My husband works until 11pm so misses bedtime which I find the hardest part to be alone for. Signed up to 3 groups starting in Sept. We will be busy!

Sitchervice · 27/07/2021 14:12

@Fishingforhappiness which groups have you signed up to! 🙂

Fishingforhappiness · 27/07/2021 20:13

@Sitchervice signed up for baby sensory, baby swim and the village baby and toddler groups, we over here in Feb and I still know nobody. There isnt many pavements and lots if tractors driving through atm, making walks with
the pram tricky. But theres a zoo in the village and I've bought myself an annual pass, I've been 6 times in 8 weeks. Blush

Sitchervice · 27/07/2021 22:00

@Fishingforhappiness
Oh baby swimming! I need to find a pool for my little one.

Have you looked at just meet up groups? My church runs one but Eland is a little unsettled in mornings at the moment we haven't managed to go

Tatty1987 · 29/07/2021 04:45

Hello ladies…struggling tonight.
It’s now 4.38 and I haven’t slept yet. Little tike has pretty much been feeding, burbing, 30 mins rest then doing it all again, not to mention crying in between coz he’s straining for a poop. I knew having a baby that I wouldn’t get much sleep initially but wow is sleep deprivation real. Not sure how I’m gona function today.
Sorry to come on here and moan, it’s just been a tough old night and i needed to vent; I know you’ve all been there…

Sitchervice · 29/07/2021 08:04

@Tatty1987 if you have FB we have a night time chat support group you could join :)

Hopefully you and the little one can get some naps in today

Lovethatjourneyforme · 29/07/2021 12:56

Is anyone starting to develop a daytime or bedtime routine? My LO is 8 weeks on Saturday, we have a very loose bedtime routine but I'm trying to enforce it a bit more now and think I need to start doing it earlier.

What sort of time do your babies go to bed? Do you have much of a routine established or are you trying? I know it's still quite early days.

Lovethatjourneyforme · 29/07/2021 12:58

Also, is the Facebook group still going?

serenfach1 · 29/07/2021 13:41

@Tatty1987 sending good getting-through-the-day vibes today. how are you doing?

@Lovethatjourneyforme my LO is 5 weeks tomorrow so I'm not really in any routine but I am trying to keep daytime bright and noisy and nights dark and quiet. I generally "start" the day around 7am by flinging open the curtains to make the room bright and I put the radio on.

AlRRRR · 29/07/2021 13:51

@Sitchervice what’s the nightime support group?

AlRRRR · 29/07/2021 13:52

@Tatty1987 the tiredness is awful, sometimes i dread going to bed , to get up in morning to do it all again n so lonely having what it feels like no one going through it

Sitchervice · 29/07/2021 14:00

@AlRRRR it's a Facebook chat group the mumsnet Facebook group made.

AlRRRR · 29/07/2021 14:02

@Sitchervice ooo can I join it? :)

Sitchervice · 29/07/2021 15:06

@AlRRRR of course.
The FB is private so I'll need to add you on FB to invite you to the group. Is that ok

AlRRRR · 29/07/2021 15:08

@Sitchervice yes

Amy Louise Rowley

Tatty1987 · 29/07/2021 15:19

@AlRRRR @serenfach1 thank you, feeling abit more positive now… baby has been snoozing all day too which is typical! I’m glad there is a platform where you can vent at all hours of the day Smile

Lovethatjourneyforme · 29/07/2021 15:25

@Sitchservice could I join it as well?

Scarftown · 29/07/2021 16:12

@Lovethatjourneyforme @Sitchervice

I have no idea how to do it but maybe @sitchervice can add you.

Sitchervice · 29/07/2021 16:19

@Scarftown @Lovethatjourneyforme yep I can add.

I just need a name

BabyBumpIncoming · 02/08/2021 22:53

Hi all, hope everyone is getting on ok with the LO's.
For those mamas that have started expressing or switched to formula from BF how do you stop your babas from gulping the milk down?!?!?!
We have just started expressing and my got what could take an hour of feeding with me is taking 5 mins with the bottle! We are taking it out every 20-30seconds or so and popping a dummy in to try and slow him down. Not sure if this is a good plan or if there are any other tips? He may just be a greedy guys 🙈😫
