We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

Morning :) Is anyone feeling really nauseous towards the end of their pregnancy? I’m feeling sooooooooooooooooo sick (39+ 1)

TerryRose · 18/06/2021 10:11

Well ladies I was just getting into bed last night when my contractions started. At first I wasn't sure if was just braxton hicks or just really bad trapped gas but it was happening every ten minutes so sat on the ball and was ok for an hour or so when the contractions started coming nearly constantly, lost the plug and couldn't get comfortable at all no matter what I tried.
So headed to hospital about 6am they examined me etc and at 8:30am I was 2cm dilated.
So I've been admitted and just waiting now 🤣

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 10:31

@TerryRose Ooo good luck!! Hope you have a good birth!! xx

PurpleishDahlia · 18/06/2021 10:39

@TerryRose good luck! Is it standard to admit you when you're 2cm? I thought they send you home until you're 4cm or does it depend on the hospital?

Fishingforhappiness · 18/06/2021 12:13

@Whywontitname oh wow.20 is so rough. Poor you. I hate to say, I'm glad I'm not alone though. It is sending me crazy. @Lovethatjourneyforme thank you for being kind.
Our lady was born at 38+2, and was little. I wonder if the smaller they are, the more catch up, the more feeds etc. Just seen the midwife, 10oz weight gain in a week Shock. But only on 2nd centile. She doesnt wind that well either. But did have 2 large projectile vomits overnight. I try the up on the shoulder or under the chin on my lap method. But she just mouthing and wanting to feed the whole time.

Whywontitname · 18/06/2021 13:14

@Fishingforhappiness it’s so hard isn’t it! It just makes you feel like you’re going crazy, I felt guilty as I was just thinking please stop at some points and getting upset. You are not alone, I’m glad to see that others have have similar experiences as well I don’t really know anyone with newborns and I’ve been mainly lurking on here throughout my pregnancy just to see what’s normal etc. He seems more normal today so I’m hoping it was just a growth spurt day.

That’s such a good weight gain! I thought as well if they’re a bit early they might need a bit more feeding so they grow a bit quicker, mines still in tiny baby 3 weeks on. That’s exactly what happens here he just starts trying to eat my hand or shoulder and then gets really unsettled because I’ve tried to wind him then wants to feed again! He’s not been that sick really a few mouthfuls here and there with no pattern to it.

Nesski · 18/06/2021 14:00

I just had my show, I've had mucousy discharge for the last two weeks so I think the plug came away gradually! Very irregular contractions at the moment, feel more like bad period cramps..

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 14:15

@Nesski Ooooooooo fingers crossed! You’re due a day earlier than me! Have you had any other labour symptoms? :)

PinkPlantCase · 18/06/2021 15:09

@PurpleishDahlia i woke up at around 4am fort the last few weeks aswell, I found that I could get back to sleep at around 7am and have a few more hours.

The other thing that worked was going to bed later, felt a bit counter productive but it helped me sleep through.

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 15:29

@PurpleishDahlia Ah yes!!! 24th June hahaha, Sorry I didn’t know you’d tagged me in a post!!

You sound incredibly active!!! I barely walk around, due to the sheer amount of pressure down there!!

Sleep - well, I’ve always been an early to bed and early awake person, but with the pain of being in bed, I now sleep
around 11pm/ 00:00, always wake up around 3 am and wide awake around 5am! I’m north too but not as far as you! I also have a 4 yr old in the bed as she comes in for cuddles at some point in the night!

People keep texting me asking if any news yet Looooool, 🙄🙄🙄 It could be anything from now until the 8th July. I’m declining amy sweeps / inductions (unless medically required) Until i’m 41 +5, as i see it as a window rather than a date!

Have you any niggles? xx

TerryRose · 18/06/2021 15:31

@PurpleishDahlia I live in the countryside about 40'mins away so they kept me in for pain management as the contractions were constant and I couldn't face the car journey .
It's progressing slowly and I was given a pethidine injection as has no break between contractions but only 2cm still and I couldn't stand or sit so needed something and it's working a treat thank goodness

Nesski · 18/06/2021 17:17

@airrrr @PurpleishDahlia I have had so many people say to go for walks as it helps but like you said, it's so heavy down there it's the last thing I want to do really! Although might give it a go tomorrow as it won't be raining to hopefully get things going if it hasn't done so already

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 18:11

@Nesski Yes, I couldn’t, feel like she’s going to fall out!

I am just doing housework and going up and downstairs etc, so doing what I can!

TerryRose · 18/06/2021 18:26

Only 3cm dilated and been in labour since 1am or so last night 😭

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 18:41

@TerryRose You’re doing great! I was stuck at 4cm for 24 hours, they then broke my waters and she came 2 hours later! Born after 26 hours 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nesski · 18/06/2021 19:06

@TerryRose you can do this! If you can try and get some shut eye, I know it's hard. Is your partner with you? Do you have enough distractions?

TerryRose · 18/06/2021 21:31

@AlRRRR @Nesski thank you , my waters still haven't broken so I'm assuming at this stage they will break waters for me as it's going on so long, I'm trying to walk the corridors but hard in the heat and makes me nauseous so sitting on the ball

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 21:38

@TerryRose Yes, I don’t know why they wait so long for the waters, the minutes they burst mine, the contractions become real and she came so fast!! Can you ask them to do it for you?

my mum was the same with me and my bro, had to have them broken, but back then, they did it after like 5/6 hours 🤣🤣🤣

Anyway! Hope it speeds up x

AlRRRR · 18/06/2021 21:40

@TerryRose I had to have anti sickness meds all through labour, x

Nesski · 19/06/2021 00:23

@airrrr shit if contractions become real after waters have broken Sad

I'm just walking up and down the house at the moment, gave the MAU a call and they said that I need to be in a lot of consistent pain before going in, got a long ass night ahead of me. Ordered husband to bed so at least one of us is energised

AnxiousAnnie86 · 19/06/2021 01:10

June 2021 - part 6 - the final push!
AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 05:09

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh wow! Comgrats!!! :) Hope labour was as good as can be!!

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 05:12

@Nesski Sorry didn’t
mean to scare you!! That was like it for me, maybe not anyone else! It just got intense as soon as her head was on cervix and it peaked and came really fast! But they say when you say you’ve had enough and can’t
go on, they’re born, so maybe that’s what I felt! x

Tangled123 · 19/06/2021 07:51

I had my wee girl yesterday at 5:31pm, the day after her due date.

She had been measuring big the whole way through, but growth had tailed off during the last two weeks, so they decided at my 40 week appointment on Thursday to induce me.
I got called in yesterday for what I thought was going to be a pessary, but they changed their minds overnight and decided to jump straight to breaking my water as I was already 2cm dilated.
4 hours later, I hadn’t dilated anymore and the gas wasn't working as well, so they advised me to take an epidural as they were expecting a long day. In the time it took to get it, I dilated to a 10cm, so it didn’t have any time to work either.
Transition and pushing were difficult, and the feeling of pressure was so intense, but just as the pushing got really unbearable, she pretty much dropped out.
7lb in the end, so not even that small either 😂.

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 08:05

@Tangled123 Congrats!!! x
