We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

Congrats to all the new arrivals! Hope you're all doing fabulously and healing well!
I am loving seeing how different everyone's experiences are 🥰

Totally forgot to come on here and update. Baby Benjamin was born on 10/6 at 5.42pm weighing 8lb1oz :)

Was induced - pessary weds am, came out Thurs am, waters broken as was 3cm, went on drip at 1.30, contractions came pretty quickly and ramped up fast. Breathed through them til about 4pm then had gas and air. Asked for Pethidine but his head was visible so no more drugs for me :( He came out with a hand by his head so tore me pretty badly, the stitches were probably worse than the actual birth!
He is absolutely perfect and is so chilled and has taken to breastfeeding like a champ. We love him so much 💕

Congratulations to you new mummies! Hope recovery is going well for you all.

Im 40+3 now, bloody show following sweep has stopped, not sleeping very well, just so fed up. Tried everything to get baby out but just not budging 😩 every day feels like a week, struggling to stay positive. Wow.

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 15:05

@Taylor1896 Oh bless ya!! Are you feeling quite well or yucky and uncomfy? Have you had the sweep thing? x

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 15:06

@Taylor1896 sorry you have had the sweep!! x

Taylor1896 · 19/06/2021 15:12

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 15:19

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 15:26

Taylor1896 · 19/06/2021 15:27

AlRRRR · 19/06/2021 18:59

@TerryRose How are you getting on? x

MimiDaisy11 · 20/06/2021 12:06

Congrats to all new baby news!

I’m 41+5 today. I started induction process what feels like weeks ago 😂 but really just spent one day and night in hospital. I’ve had pessary and two hormonal tablets inserted but still no go. Body has to get a rest and start process all over again tomorrow as still not suitable for balloon. It is a pain to hang about but I’m glad not to be prodded anymore today as internal exams quite painful. I’m not sure how long I’ll be in hospital for as if get balloon then it’s another 24 hrs and if second round doesn’t work then I’ll maybe get a c-section and then have to stay for that.

Best of luck to all still waiting!

PinkPlantCase · 20/06/2021 13:18

@MimiDaisy11 nice that they’re giving you a day off today. You never know things could still start spontaneously! Fingers crossed for you x

TerryRose · 20/06/2021 15:15

@AlRRRR

Well my little lady arrived after 32 hours of a slow labour ! Had two pethidine shots and epidural as it just was not progressing and I was exhausted . The epidural was amazing but it was difficult trying to push when you couldn't feel exactly where to push but I don't think I would have lasted to that point without it so it's just weighing up the options . Ended up needing the vacuum and the forceps and her heartbeat was elevating so there was quite a few people in the room towards the end but I stayed calm probably because of the drugs and knowing they were all there to help .

She arrived in at 8 pounds 9 so big enough baba but she seems tiny to me!

Best of luck to everyone on the home stretch and I'll keep you all posted ❤️

AlRRRR · 20/06/2021 15:17

@TerryRose Oh well done!!!!! :) I was thinking about you!! I can totally understand the epidural! Take whatever works for you, she’s here now so all is good! :)

Lovethatjourneyforme · 20/06/2021 16:27

@whywontitname and @fishingforhappiness how're you both doing with the feeding? My LO has become extremely fussy the last few days, think we've hit the first growth spurt!

Normando91 · 21/06/2021 05:11

Hi all, thought I’d check in and congratulate all the new mummies! Isn’t it wild having a baby now 😂

My little one is now 4 days old and he is just a dream. It hasn’t been easy as we were kept in hospital for 3 days following the emergency delivery. But being home is nothing short of magical. He seems to be cluster feeding at the moment which can be difficult, even more so as I’m dealing with a very uncomfortable third degree tear and slight incontinence, but my OH has been unbelievable. He’s taken to being a daddy like a duck to water and couldn’t do more for our son and I.

Did anyone else genuinely fall completely in love with their partner again after having baby? I feel like we’re just in this little bubble of appreciating everything about each other again and it’s lovely 💛

P.S @AlRRRR, I can’t wait for your baby update. Hope you’re keeping well and things start happening soon!

AlRRRR · 21/06/2021 06:35

@Normando91 I wish you a speedy recovery and as less pain as possible! ❤️❤️❤️

AlRRRR · 21/06/2021 06:37

@Normando91 I just lost the mucus plug 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just as I posted the message so funny!

Normando91 · 21/06/2021 07:21

@AlRRRR So exciting!!! I hope this is the start for you!!

AlRRRR · 21/06/2021 07:27

@Normando91 Well maybe! What a good day to be born on June 21st the soltice! haha Last time i lost it she came same day, so who know’s 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

AlRRRR · 21/06/2021 07:29

@Normando91 and the cluster feeding!!! It’s okay, you’re doing a great job!! Just let him latch when he wants for as long and you’ll boss this!!

PinkPlantCase · 21/06/2021 08:22

@Normando91 my DH has been brilliant too, I didn’t do a nappy change until day 3!

I think the funniest thing he’s done so far was dealing with my first post birth poo that was so big it blocked the loo 🙈🙈

We’re on day 5 today, i had a second degree tear and found that things have got a bit more sore in the last few days, I think now the general swelling and bruising has gone I can feel the stitches/tear more specifically. Has anyone looked yet? I’m quite glad the midwife will check them today so I don’t have to.

We went for our first walk outside yesterday! Bubs was happy in his pushchair though he didn’t open his eyes once, think it might have been a bit bright.

PinkPlantCase · 21/06/2021 08:22

Best big luck @AlRRRR !!!
