@housewifeathome they have had to give me antibiotics, trying to get me through until January before taking it out. Though they have said if it continues like this they will take it out sooner.
I’m taking paracetamol but trying to leave it more for night time because there’s nothing like not sleeping either. They are making me feel quite rough but paracetamol has that effect on me anyway.
@Sparklestars86 thanks. There taking blood but earliest appointment I could get was next Monday, think it’s to do with things they been saying on the news recently about running short of blood tubes.
Dd is being all hyper today too as wants to go out and run off some energy, but mummy hasn’t got any.

Sparklestars86 · 27/09/2021 08:07

@Em39ma hope youre feeling a little better. And that there's enough tubes for your blood tests today! Xx

Em39ma · 28/09/2021 20:25

Got my bloods done yesterday and had a call today to discuss them. Guess they have found something. Phoned the doctors and said I need to make an appointment to discuss my test results as doctor asked me to call. 3 weeks until anyone is free to talk to me. Poor receptionist was desperately trying to find me an appointment, she managed in the end to get one for Monday next week, by bypassing so of the system.
The news keeps telling us everything should be back to normal at surgeries but guess what there not. Trying to see if our private insurance can access the result and will speak to the gp through them.
Sorry for the rant, but it just seems ridiculous to wait that long for urgent results.

AnonymousXXIX · 29/09/2021 08:36

@Em39ma omg yes that's ridiculous : o I would try putting in a couple more phone calls, like you say, insurance, maybe also to local hospital or something, because that's crazy long.

Em39ma · 29/09/2021 09:17

@AnonymousXXIX going to try in a minute and see if I can be put on today’s call list.

Em39ma · 29/09/2021 14:14

Just got back from the doctors. I’m anemic, with low iron levels too. My blood also showed low protein in it, which is a sign of malnutrition. Asked what I normally ate and we are meat, 3/4 veg and potatoes family, could understand more if my levels were too high.
It could be that the baby is just taking more this time and eating more than dd.
Calling again on Friday, as one idea is I’m reacting to the anti sickness drugs. Trying cyclizine again to see if my symptoms improve. Going to be a long stretch to December.

AnonymousXXIX · 04/10/2021 07:20

Morning ladies. I had the most horrendous muscle spasm in my leg last night. I woke up screaming, and DH had to help calm me down. Is this meant to be preparation for labour or something? As in, if you can't handle leg cramps then you're not going to be able to handle contractions? Still hurts this morning and genuinely can't walk.

Sparklestars86 · 04/10/2021 08:21

I refuse to accept that anything (including child birth) can be as painful as spasming leg cramps in the middle of the night! 😩 Xx

Room4onemore · 04/10/2021 10:11

Hi ladies, I did post on here a while back but have been a bit quiet. I’m 30 weeks now, had my GTT at 28 weeks which came back ok, had my 28 week growth scan and baby girl was measuring 2lb 4ozs and was sitting just under the 50th centile

Sparklestars86 · 04/10/2021 15:45

@Room4onemore Ive not had a scan but had my 28 week measurements done at 29+3 and measured 29cm which puts me just above average according the the chart.
Do any second/third time mum's have experience of baby being relatively average at this stage then having a growth spurt and ending up massive? Ive always just presumed this baby is going to be large but maybe not so far...! Xx

1ce1cebaby · 04/10/2021 16:21

Hi @Sparklestars86. With my first I measured small (on scan) at 28 week appointment so was having growth scans and I think at the next one (31 weeks) Was measuring big and over the 90th centile. So it def can change lol

Sparklestars86 · 04/10/2021 16:35

@1ce1cebaby oh wow- I won't be reading too much into it at this stage then! Xx

1ce1cebaby · 04/10/2021 17:22

@Sparklestars86 yea I would take it with a pinch of salt as so much can change! And I keep hearing how inaccurate the measurements can be anyway - so your gut feeling may be right!!

Hopesandsunshines · 06/10/2021 09:19

Ladies I hope you are well can't believe my baby girl and I are in week 28!! Anyone's morning sickeness came back? I'm suffering

CityGirl182 · 06/10/2021 10:20

@Hopesandsunshines yes! I was off the cyclizine for a whole three weeks and now back on it at 31 weeks Confused. I remember this happening with my first pregnancy too, I thought I'd lost the sickness and then it returned for the last few weeks...
Pom bears for breakfast time again Grin

Em39ma · 06/10/2021 11:54

We tried me off the anti sickness tablets, didn’t even last 24 hours. They thought they might not be helping my dizziness.

Florarenniemackintosh · 06/10/2021 12:34

Morning everyone! Just to share: I had muscle spasms in my legs in the middle of the night and went to pharmacist. They recommended magnesium and wow it totally stops the spasms! When I forget to take the magnesium the spasms returns. Checked with my gyno and it's fine to take magnesium in pregnancy!

meandjoss · 06/10/2021 17:40

Hi ladies! Haven't posted on here much but due 10th with a little girl (still can't believe it). Keep feeling a lot of kicking quite low down and confirmed today with midwife at 30+5 she's breach. Such a weird feeling as I remember with DS feeling kicks in my ribs instead. Hopefully she will move in time for growth scan at 34 wks otherwise it'll be an elective c section for us as I refuse to have the procedure where they move the baby around 🤢 anyone else had this? Almost finished her nursery & she's got so much stuff!! So excited for Christmas this year with my little family. Hope everyone is having a healthy pregnancy so far xx

Sparklestars86 · 08/10/2021 07:27

@meandjoss fingers crossed she has a good wriggle and shifts around. Have you looked at spinning babies I think it's called - gives some excercises/positions/tips to encourage them to move.
I bought all the big stuff a couple of months ago- then seem to have faltered since then so need to get organised! Cot and changing table just coming in our room initially so haven't done the nursery yet. But do need to write a list of the bits and bobs we need! Xx

Elm98 · 08/10/2021 15:01

I haven’t posted here in a while and I hope everyone is getting on well with their pregnancy’s and feeling great. Unfortunately we have had the morning from hell and I just need to vent. Sad

We went for our 28 week growth scan today and the sonographer straight away picked up that something in baby’s brain wasn’t measuring right.

I had to wait on my own for two hours (darn covid) for a foetal specialist to come and scan me.
When he did scan me he said that baby has an enlarged cavum septum pellucidum in the brain, he did say it was only slightly enlarged and not to panic as they will scan me again in a months time however both mine and my partners brain has gone into panic mode. If I’m a months time it is still enlarged I will have to go for an MRI.

Unfortunately we can’t find any more information on the internet of other cases of this or even what can cause it, I’m absolutely out of my mind with worry especially considering we thought all was absolutely fine after the 20 weeks scan. SadSad

AnonymousXXIX · 08/10/2021 17:36

@Elm98 that sounds like a horrible experience, I am so sorry! I would totally be in panic mode as well (sorry not helpful I know). I hope they can find out something more for you asap. There must be some specialists you could have conversations with!

Elm98 · 08/10/2021 18:44

Thank you, just needed a vent and a hand hold because it has thrown me completely. The specialist I seen was so good at trying to reassure me but says we will just have to wait and see if it gets any bigger. Unfortunately that leaves me in limbo for a month until he can scan me again. Confused

Sparklestars86 · 08/10/2021 18:55

@elm98 how awul. I'd have been the same 😦 I've not heard of it before at all so can't really offer any advice but just wanted to send you positive thoughts and well wishes. I hope the wait for the next scan isn't too painful (hopefully they can provide some more info for you in the meantime)- and you get good news when it comes around! Xx

burtle4 · 08/10/2021 19:02

@Elm98 that sounds like an awful experience and how bad to be left in limbo for a whole month. Have they given you any indication of what any of it means at least?x

Elm98 · 08/10/2021 19:28

They said it could be indicative of something called a CSP cyst, which when I’ve tried to look up comes up with very little information. He said that baby is developed absolutely fine otherwise and all other parts of baby’s brain look normal.

I honestly felt it was such a bad experience because the doctor was saying “oh I don’t even know why we have measured this to begin with, it’s not normally something we check” but then saying there was something not right; I’m glad they did check.
The original sonographer first said she had spotted an abnormality in baby’s brain then they sat me in a side room on my own for two hours waiting for an explanation on what she had seen. Felt so lonely; almost feel traumatised by the experience.
Thank you for the well wishes ladies it means a lot. Flowers
