@Em39ma Interesting, by the home testing I wouldn't be picked up as having GD, I have never had any high readings from testing at home but I was out of limits from the GTT. But if you can't take the see drink, you can't take the drink and the home testing should pick up a trend I guess...
I hope you get your physio appointment quickly, that sounds rubbish :(
I have had the covid jab, but my midwife is saying I should still be super careful during the third trimester. It's going to be a looong wait, but worth it!

Theawkwardblonde · 05/09/2021 20:48

Hope everyone is okay. Finally felt a kick from the outside tonight (I have anterior placenta) so that was reassuring.
Anyone having really bad leg cramp at night? I'm literally wheeling a couple hours a night due to leg cramp and an achey pelvis. Neither are really bad on the pain front, just damn uncomfortable/irritating. Have a pregnancy pillow but nothing is helping with comfort. Any tips appreciated!

Theawkwardblonde · 05/09/2021 20:50

Sleeping not wheeling lol 🤣🤣

Em39ma · 06/09/2021 06:58

@Theawkwardblonde I made a post last week about the same thing.
Asked the midwife and she just said I need more fluids. I think I might drown if I have more. I expect it’s just one of those pregnancy things.

BrodieKD · 10/09/2021 12:32

Hi girls. Our local scanning place had a deal on so we've booked a 4D scan. Has anyone else had one before? We booked it and are now worried because we don't know the gender that it'll be revealed 🙈

Mayneedanextraroom · 10/09/2021 12:40

@BrodieKD I had one with my first baby and we didn’t know the sex and didn’t want to, it just meant the scan focused mainly on her face. It was still amazing but probably not quite as good as if we’d known what she was as they would have not hesitated to look/show us all of her. We did see other things but there was hesitation whilst they made sure they didn’t give anything away :)

My experience was good, as long as you’re clear from the start that you don’t want to know, I’m sure they will be careful x

CityGirl182 · 14/09/2021 22:10

All the non first time mums, did your babies get bigger with subsequent pregnancies? My midwife said they tend to get bigger, my last one was over 9lb and I'm now freaking out that this one could be bigger! Shock

1ce1cebaby · 14/09/2021 22:20

@CityGirl182 have they started charting your measurements yet? Mine is measuring above the 95th centile so I have to have the GTT test. First baby was on the 93rd. Though still early enough I guess to know. I always thought subsequent babies were bigger.

CityGirl182 · 15/09/2021 07:00

@1ce1cebaby baby was 65th percentile so not showing to be a whopper yet, fingers crossed! Maybe my second baby was an anomaly and the third will be smaller, I can hope!
The GTT drink tastes awful by the way, don't be afraid to ask them to add a bit of water as you get to the bottom bit where it's ended up more concentrated. Hope it goes well for you!

1ce1cebaby · 15/09/2021 11:42

Hopefully! I’m sure you don’t want a 10lber!! I’ve heard that…. Can’t wait lol thanks for this tip! And I’m hoping I don’t have GD 🤞🏻

Em39ma · 15/09/2021 12:18

Had my telephone consultant appointment this morning.
My c section has been booked for mid December. Spoke about my polyhydramnios and was shocked my midwife was refusing to measure me. Was going to have words and put in my notes to be measured every 2 weeks starting at my 28 week appointment. He was very unhappy that know one was pushing to get my COVID jab done and is looking into it for me and I should keep on at the gp to sort it out.
He had a great sense of humour and seemed really nice.
He also said if I’m as big as last time my section date can be moved forward.

Hi ladies! Been a bit quiet as nothing much as been happening. Bump is finally showing now but not so obviously that other people notice really. Baby is kicking loads and I actually find it a little annoying now, especially at night? But very grateful for the signs of life. Saw my midwife this week (25 weeks) and everything is going fine (knock wood).

Still very overwhelmed by travel systems and cots etc. and haven't bought anything as a result.

Sparklestars86 · 16/09/2021 21:15

@AnonymousXXIX Im definitely with you re the overwhelming feeling for travel system/ baby furniture! I went the other way to you though and made a decision what to get on the first day we went to look for both respectively. I think can drive yourself mad overthinking things! If I hadn't just been strict I still wouldn't have decided by the time baby arrived!
I feel like I'm literally going to physically burst on an evening after dinner. Ive got a definite and pronounced bump but wouldn't say I'm huge. (People at work keep using the word "neat"!) so dread to think how another 12 weeks growth is going to feel when I currently isn't even space for a meal in there! 😩 Xx

Florarenniemackintosh · 17/09/2021 06:05

@Theawkwardblonde I had leg cramps in the night and I went to my pharmacy and the pharmacist said it was common in pregnant women and said it is magnesium deficiency. I've been taking magnesium since and I never had cramps again!

TreeRoad · 17/09/2021 10:36

@AnonymousXXIX The pram/car seat/travel system situation is definitely overwhelming! When we chose ours, we just looked at the practicalities of it - fitting in the boot of the car, lightweight car seat, adaptable as the baby grows. Remember to look for a car seat that is suitable from birth and has a decent weight range, or you’ll be replacing it pretty quickly.

RE movement - mine are getting really strong too. He’s kicking away as I write this actually! Of course I’m glad to have a physical reminder that all is well. He’s really active at night (loves a 4am start too!) which is keeping me awake.

@Sparklestars86 I’m like that after dinner too! I often don’t even want to eat because the bloating is so bad. The joys, eh?

Em39ma · 17/09/2021 14:21

Just had to have a emergency doctors appointment. Been dizzy and falling over the last 3 days, think I have labyrinthus caused by a virus. Not sure how as still having to isolate because of not having the jab, I don’t leave the house. Blood pressure is a bit low, but heart rate is a bit high. They have decided to leave me untreated until Monday, on the call list for Monday morning. Hopefully will be better by then. Pregnancy is never easy for me, but this one is definitely worse than with dd.

👋🏼 I'd like to join this thread as due December 🥰

Tummy feels sooooooooooo stretched and uncomfortable (27 wks). Anyone else? X

Em39ma · 17/09/2021 22:09

@housewifeathome I’m like that, but I have polyhydramnios ( to much water)
Keep an eye and maybe mention at your 28 week appointment.

housewifeathome · 17/09/2021 23:32

@Em39ma
My water levels were 7cm at 26 weeks, so higher side of normal but still normal.
Does excess water make your tummy hurt? I put it down to uterus stretching/ round ligament pain.

Hope you are feeling better?

Em39ma · 18/09/2021 09:02

@housewifeathome still not feeling great.
Not sure how deep my deepest pool is at the moment but last was in the teens. My stomach really starts to hurt when it goes up. Skin is so tight it sounds like a drum. I get braxtonhicks to, which makes it tighten even more.

Oh no, that sounds awful. I guess there's not an awful lot they can do about the excess water at this stage other than monitor it..

Em39ma · 22/09/2021 12:20

Well I’m feeling rather sorry for myself. Not only have I got labyrinthis and maybe underactive thyroid, now I’ve got a infected tooth. I’m in absolute agony , got antibiotics for it but not working yet. Decided really have had enough today.

Sparklestars86 · 22/09/2021 14:07

@Em39ma that sounds horrendous 😩 I mean, just one at a time would be bad enough!!
I hope the medication kicks in for you pronto. Xx

Oh no!! I had a tooth abscess when pregnant with DC2 and they were so reluctant to even give me antibiotics- or adequate pain relief!!

"You can take paracetamol..."
Confused

Don't blame you for feeling fed up, it sounds like you are really going through it all right now. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon for you Thanks

housewifeathome · 22/09/2021 17:13

@Em39ma if you haven't already, gargle with some salt in warm water. That hopefully might take the edge of the pain for a while.
