@2020mission spoke too soon re sickness. Reared it's ugly head again this evening 🤢
We're not going to find out the sex of baby, going to leave it as a surprise. I keep thinking this may be our only one given how long it's take to conceive so I just want to keep it a surprise. I don't have a feeling either way what I'm having either.

@Sparklestars86 a third vote for Dorothy Perkins. Comfy maternity trousers and they look good.

Theawkwardblonde · 16/07/2021 22:26

@Sparklestars86 should have said second vote-clearly lost the ability to count 😂

flowersatthecastle · 16/07/2021 22:57

@Sparklestars86 asos have a good selection too Smile

AnonymousXXIX · 17/07/2021 07:42

@2020mission @theawkwardblonde my due date is also end of December (pushed back from christmas eve!). Although tbh I am kind of hoping it'll just be a January baby!

Sparklestars86 · 17/07/2021 08:19

Thanks everyone. Shopping day for me! Xx

Theawkwardblonde · 17/07/2021 10:37

@AnonymousXXIX yeah I'm hoping baby either arrives just before Christmas or in January!

2020mission · 17/07/2021 12:34

Yeah same I'd rather the little one comes just before Christmas or if not, then January would be better.

@Theawkwardblonde aww no hopefully the sickness will still ease off soon. We are struggling with boy names so really finding out at the 20 week scan would be a bit of helping push us to pick a name if it's a boy and also I'm assuming I might be drugged at the birth and not in the best state to find out whether it's a little boy or girl at the time 😅 so feel I might as well know sooner, even though it doesn't matter either way. It really helps when you don't have a preference! Trying for so long does just make you so grateful to have any baby.

Em39ma · 18/07/2021 08:28

My gosh am I hot. Our room never got below 28 last night, dd got up at 5am. I can’t blame her, she in with us as decorating the new house.
I think I’m just going to lie in the paddling pool today like a beached whale today.
Anyone got any tips for cooling down, I use a hot water bottle with cold water in it and keep it in the fridge for an hour.

Sparklestars86 · 18/07/2021 10:33

@Em39ma I have no useful tips to offer but just wanted to say a refrigerated hot water bottle sounds absolutely dreamy!! Xx

plantloveJolly · 18/07/2021 12:57

Hey guys! I hope you're all going well.

I'm 17+5 today and still haven't felt any movements :( I have a posterior placenta so thought I would feel them by now. Anyone on the same boat?

Scarletpig1 · 18/07/2021 13:38

For my first I didn't feel movements till.around 24 weeks

2020mission · 18/07/2021 14:01

@plantloveJolly I haven't felt any movements yet, I'm at 16+3. At my last midwife appointment I was told not to expect to feel them until up to 20 weeks since it was my first, so I wouldn't worry!

LouLou0505 · 18/07/2021 15:12

I’m over 17 weeks, anterior placenta and first baby I was getting worried that I hadn’t felt him move yet, I’ve never had the popping feeling but when I was tickling and tapping last week I felt a tickle inside but haven’t since.

My midwife says that’s completely normal and she also said it’s rubbish you won’t feel them because of your anterior placenta. While you may not feel kicks from the outside for a while she said you will feel the flutters and tickles just as much as anyone else which is good.

I think some maybe luckier than others and I’ve heard with second babies you tend to feel things earlier which might be because you know what your actually feeling?

Room4onemore · 18/07/2021 17:50

19+2 weeks here, melting today

Scarletpig1 · 18/07/2021 18:47

I got some skincare things for Xmas that I can't use during pregnancy as they have retinol in them. Does anyone know if you can use stuff like that after if you are breastfeeding?

burtle4 · 18/07/2021 22:43

I've just been worrying myself today about not feeling any movements yet, I'm 18+1 with third so thought I would be feeling something by now. Had the odd flutter over the past couple of weeks but nothing that makes me feel that's definitely baby, and definitely can't tune into anything if I just sit quietly. Good to hear others are the same though, hopefully it will happen soon...!

Lola3034 · 19/07/2021 10:06

Hello ladies! I've been long time lurker but first time poster on this tread. I am a FTM and we just found out we are having a boy due on 2 December! I am sooo excited and terrified at the same time. Even though i knew about the pregnancy since I was 3 weeks pregnant I still cannot wrap my head around it 🤯.It seems like team boy is leading the way on this thread Smile

Pineapple87 · 19/07/2021 10:33

Congratulations and welcome, I have my scan in a little over 2 weeks we are hoping team boy, but will be happy with either X

Em39ma · 19/07/2021 11:39

Are we 7 boys now and 1 girl? Need the girls to catch up.

Pineapple87 · 19/07/2021 12:12

Think there’s a few girls but not many,
Are you on the Facebook page?

Pineapple87 · 19/07/2021 12:13

8 boys v 3 girls on the Facebook page x

2020mission · 19/07/2021 12:38

Are you all chatting more on a Facebook group now instead of here? I missed the early buses.

Em39ma · 19/07/2021 12:41

I’m not on the Facebook. Is there a link available?

Theawkwardblonde · 19/07/2021 13:18

Wasn't aware there was a Facebook group either @2020mission although I did think this thread seemed quiet!

flowersatthecastle · 19/07/2021 13:19

@Em39ma @2020mission DM @Kinsters on here and she can add you in. The group isn't searchable on Facebook so a link wouldn't work Smile
