@Sparklestars86 Thank you! That’s so helpful! I really appreciate it! I’ve told my friend and just went in with it like normal and she was really pleased. Smile
Thank you again

Rosemary5 · 25/06/2021 14:23

Ok so I got my test results back last week

Age 21
Crown rump length... 66.3mm
Nt.... 2.10mm
HCG... 2.54 mom
PAPP-A... 0.59 mom

Risk for t21 is 1 in 523
The other one is 1:20000 so not worried.

Although the risk is low for t21 I’m worried it’s high for my age I expected it it be a lot lower. My background risk was 1:1513 then the adjusted risk is 1:523

Any ideas 🤷🏻‍♀️

Scarletpig1 · 25/06/2021 15:00

@Rosemary5 My down syndrome risk is 1 :479 so not far off yours. But, I'm 39 and have low Papp-a. 0.36 so I need to go for growth scans because of it. My NT was 2mm so close to yours. Didn't mention HCG but I'm not sure why your risk isn't much less than mine given you have better Papp-a and are only 21. 🤔

Thanks for replying! I know I’m not sure why either I was expecting it to be a lot less too which is quite worrying 😬 considering my age but not sure what I can do really as I’m classed as low risk. Is my PAPP-A low? Sorry I have no idea on these kinda things

Moo37 · 25/06/2021 19:42

@Em39ma was that the age related chance ( 1/22 ) or the overall ?
I'm nearly 41 and my age related chance was 1in 92 for ds but my overall is 1 in 1550.

Em39ma · 26/06/2021 06:41

@Moo37 my over all chance, I started out at 1-59.
When I had DD my over all chance was 1-3200 at 40.
I had the NIPT yesterday and asked some more questions. Turns out my result might be affected by vanishing twin syndrome. When I had my early scan there were2 sacs, but only one developed properly. This can apparently effect the result, hoping that is the case. I didn’t realise that could change my results.

Mayneedanextraroom · 26/06/2021 10:22

Thinking of you @Em39ma I was given 1:45 for Trisomy 21, also opted for the NIPT and came back low risk. My Papp a seems very low, 0.18 so I was referred to a consultant for additional growth scans later on. I hope you don’t have to wait long for results x

Moo37 · 26/06/2021 12:22

Hopefully it will all be good for you

Em39ma · 26/06/2021 18:15

@Mayneedanextraroom they said 7-10 working day, so guess we won’t hear anything this week.
No one has told me my papp a numbers, seems I don’t get the letter if I get a phone call.

Mayneedanextraroom · 26/06/2021 18:20

I didn’t get a letter either ( well not until after NIPT results were back) I have my fingers crossed for you that you’ll get them this week, I had bloods taken on a Friday morning, and had phone call with the results the following Thursday at around lunchtime

Lindzers83 · 27/06/2021 15:23

Has anyone signed up to the free sights like Emma's diaries? Are they with it or just annoying?

Moo37 · 27/06/2021 21:04

@Lindzers83
So far I have just found them all annoying and pretty confident is never win any free items.

Scarletpig1 · 27/06/2021 21:20

I signed up last time and started getting loads of spam emails after. Didn't think the freebies were that great either. So annoying from me

So there's 2 months between the dating scan and the anatomy scan... and I thought I would be fine and re-assured after a good dating scan... but it's not even a week later and I am already thinking 'omg is it ok?!!'. How do you know? I can't feel anything yet, I am not showing yet, how do you stay calm for 2 months between scans?

Firstbornunicorn · 28/06/2021 08:27

Hi everyone. Ducked out for a while because I’ve been feeling really anxious. Had a good 12-week scan where the baby was jumping around all over the place.
@AnonymousXXIX I wish I knew! I’m still thinking something is going to go wrong!
I’ve had crazy fatigue, so had some blood tests that have shown my thyroid has gone a bit wacky. I also feel like I’ve gained heaps of weight! Hopefully that’s my imagination. I’ve hidden the scales.

whymamadrinks · 28/06/2021 12:46

Hello can I join?
16 + 2 with second baby. DS is 23 months.
Finding out sex soon very excited. Has anyone else found out?
Also wanted to ask, I know it's controversial but who is having the vaccine? I'm really not sure what do to but have recently been diagnosed with asthma so I feel like I should have it to be safe.
Does anyone know if this means I will have to finish work/work from home from 28 weeks onwards? As it's a underlying health condition?
Hoping we don't have another wave as we come into winter!
Luckily my friend/neighbour is also pregnant so hoping we can form a bubble when the babies arrive as it'll be so lonely otherwise.
Hope everyone is doing ok x

Scarletpig1 · 28/06/2021 13:33

Welcome @whymamadrinks.. I have my gender scan 9th July so not long to wait now. I think I've booked it just before the next sale so it will be in time to know whether I'm reusing my son's clothes or buying new pink and girly things. As far as I know shielding is no longer required for any health conditions, in Scotland at least. I think they were advising pregnant women to wfh/finish at 28 weeks a while back but not the advice now. I had my first covid jab at 14 weeks (I'm 15 +3 now) if you are undecided about the jab I found the pregnant then screwed vaccine with Stella Creasy on you tube helpful plus the rcog information leaflet helpful in deciding

Welcome @whymamadrinks!

I had my first vaccine at 7 weeks and will have my second at 15 weeks. I had no side effects after the first. It's a personal decision so don't worry about what others are doing.

However, if you want to know my experience: I talked to my GP, midwife and vaccination centre, and none of them had anything to say against it. The national health advice is currently for pregnant women to get it, and some preliminary studies, especially form the US, have shown that it is safe. Personally, I do also work with some researchers who give national health advice, so I have a bit of experience with the data, and feel very confident about vaccination. Also, I have a relative with (very mild) asthma, who was recommended they get vaccinated ASAP and were given priority.

Horehound · 28/06/2021 15:05

Hello! I got suspended for a week because I troll hunted...

I'm back now :) hope everyone is doing ok.
I am 18 weeks today and my app says baby is size of sweet potato. I can deffo feel little movements now.

Got my 20 week scan on 14th July...can't wait!

I've been ill the past week, I'm pretty sure with sinusitis and it's still not gone. It's hell being ill and pregnant as you can't take anything! Been doing nasal rinses...yuk!

Theawkwardblonde · 28/06/2021 21:17

@AnonymousXXIX I'm the same. I'm 14 weeks and don't think I can hold out till the next scan at 20 weeks!

How are peoples bumps getting along? I've been so bloated since the 6 week mark, but going back to work today quite a few people who've not seen me in a while have guessed I'm pregnant due to my little bump. I can't decide if it's still bloating or a bump 😂😂 doesn't seem right at 14 weeks I'd be shoring as a search online says no 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Horehound thats cool you're feeling movements! When did you first notice them?

Horehound · 28/06/2021 21:25

@Theawkwardblonde I think at 15 weeks but this is my second. I didn't feel movement with my son until 22/23 weeks!

Em39ma · 29/06/2021 08:06

@Theawkwardblonde I’ve had a bump and a proper bump since 8 weeks. I have in each pregnancy, my mum was the same. We just show early. With DD I went for my 12 week scan and they thought someone had got it wrong and it was my 20 week with twins. Everyone shows at different times so I would say you now have a bump.

Sparklestars86 · 29/06/2021 09:17

I'm 16 weeks and have managed to be an absolute pig and put a stone on (thankfully I was fairly slim to begin with) I'm massively bloated by the end of the day- I don't think I have a proper bump yet though just look a bit rounder in general! Xx

My bump is huge! I even when I went for my 12 week scan the lady looked at me and went "are you here for your 20 week scan?"... But my midwife said it could be a mix of the fact I was carrying some extra lockdown weight, water weight or my body was just "ready" to have a baby so just "popped" early :') They double and triple check for multiple pregnancies too!

cloud2021 · 29/06/2021 10:31

I am 17+4 and my bump is very tiny.... if I lie down it is basically nonexistent! I heard the heartbeat last week and all is ok... but I do hope to have a bit more of a visible bump soon as it will make it more real.
Also haven't really felt any movements yet, I am a FTM so again hope everything is fine!
