I had my 12 week scan last Monday which actually turned out to be 13 weeks (bonus)! Was so lovely to see the heartbeat and so much movement as due to not having many symptoms (I know, lucky!) I was beginning to convince myself if the worst!
Can't wait for 20 weeks on the 4th August now!

@Lobu38 lovely scan pic. And lovely feeling that you've already got an extra week under your belt than you thought! (I was pleased and I only got moved forward a couple of days at mine!) Xx

Pineapple87 · 22/06/2021 22:32

@Lou8319 lovely pic, my 20 week is the 4 aug too, I will be 20 +2
Xx

Mayneedanextraroom · 23/06/2021 08:20

Lovely scan photo @Lobu38 🥰

We have to pay for scan photos at my local hospital too, £10 for 3 and they’re taking card only payment at the moment.

I’ve had my NIPT results back as low risk which is a relief, still feeling slightly anxious for the 20 week scan but less than 5 weeks to go now. I had my 16 week app yesterday and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat which was amazing and helped make it seem a bit more real, I’ve definitely been feeling movement too which feels surreal as I’ve never felt it so early before. 15+4 today.

Hope everyone’s ok, sorry @Em39ma you’ve still being feeling so awful, nausea is still going strong here but nowhere near what you’ve been experiencing 😢 hope it starts to ease soon x

Daisydrum · 23/06/2021 09:02

Hiya, so lovely to see all the scan photos!
Does anyone know any private scan places which will allow children in?
I’d love to take my children to see their sibling and find out the sex together! But everywhere I’ve looked states “because of covid” they can’t come. Seems crazy considering it’s all from the same household. And we could all go to pretty much anywhere together, especially as it’s a service I would be paying for.

TreeRoad · 23/06/2021 10:38

@Daisydrum Depends on your area but Window To The Womb are doing our gender scan tomorrow and I can take 4 guests. They have clinics all over the UK.

AnonymousXXIX · 23/06/2021 15:02

Scan went well! Exactly 13 weeks today, they said. They also said 'today' I didn't have to pay for pictures, which sounds like normally you would but not right now because of covid? Got three :D

Scarletpig1 · 23/06/2021 19:10

Yeah my gender scan place allows three guests but no children because of covid.

@Pineapple87 me too!! Wishing you all the best!
I didn't need to pay for pictures (said they're not charging today) but letter from hospital said we would. We just saw it as a bonus.

Daisydrum · 23/06/2021 20:49

@TreeRoad Thank you! I’ve given them a call and they accept children in their three allowed limit. Seems sensible in these times.

Em39ma · 24/06/2021 12:23

I’ve just had the phone call we all dread. 1-22 chance of trisomy 21.
Going for extra tests tomorrow. Thought I was in the clear, as they said they would call within 2 days which was Tuesday.

makeitmakesense · 24/06/2021 12:34

Hi ladies - late to the party but please may I join?

Currently 14+1 with baby #2, due 22 Dec. I was overdue with my first so could well be a xmas baby (poor bub)! Finally starting to feel like myself again as had terrible nausea & sickness first trimester. Not helped by the fact DS1 is 8 months old and constantly on the go so it has been impossible to relax 🤪

AnonymousXXIX · 24/06/2021 12:44

Oh that sounds terrifying, I hope the extra tests will be ok. Were you at a higher risk for it at all, and did they give any hint at the scan?
Em39ma · 24/06/2021 12:54

@AnonymousXXIX yes I was. I’m 42 and slightly over weight.
Had the email now, which makes more sense. They said on the phone a 1-22 chance which to me sounds very high, but in the email it gives it as a 4.5% chance of problems which doesn’t sound as bad.
Been in tears, bloody hormones.

AnonymousXXIX · 24/06/2021 13:00

I am sorry @Em39ma :( I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Scarletpig1 · 24/06/2021 13:12

@Em39ma sorry to hear that. Hope the tests come back quickly with good news 🤞

OP posts:
Sparklestars86 · 24/06/2021 14:45

@Em39ma I'm sorry to hear this and hope the further results are available quickly for you. Have you had the breakdown of each of the markers? I've heard a few times of people where nothing individually of concern if you see what I mean but its just the way they combine the statistics for all risk factors that gives an overall high risk. I'll keep everything crossed your more in depth results are more reassuring. 🤞🤞
(Plus- I cried when I found out that Golden Graham cereal had been discontinued so you have as much of a cry about this as you need then keep positive for the further tests.) Xx

Theawkwardblonde · 24/06/2021 21:33

@makeitmakesense welcome!
@Em39ma hope the extra tests can give you some more information. Got everything crossed for you for that you get some reassuring information🤞🏻

burtle4 · 24/06/2021 22:36

@Em39ma wishing you all the best for your tests, just try and focus on the fact that there's a higher probability that your baby won't have it. Big hugs Flowers

TreeRoad · 24/06/2021 22:40

@Em39ma Hope everything goes well with the further tests. I agree, 4.5% chance sounds more positive. The odds are overwhelmingly in your favour.

TreeRoad · 24/06/2021 22:42

We had our gender scan tonight. Took the sonographer a while to confirm as baby was too chilled to show her what she needed to see.

Got there in the end though, and we’re having a boy. 💙

We also got to hear his heartbeat for the first time, which was lovely!

Daisydrum · 25/06/2021 09:02

@TreeRoad Congratulations!! How exciting!
It’s lovely to hear the heart beat.
We found out yesterday we are having a girl! We hadn’t found out in previous pregnancies and it’s very exciting!

Daisydrum · 25/06/2021 09:09

Hi everyone, we are looking to tell friends and there is one who has been trying for a second baby but due to medical issues has not been able to conceive yet and I am really nervous about telling her, she will be upset if I don’t tell her but I want to do it in the best possible way for her. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

Sparklestars86 · 25/06/2021 10:42

@Daisydrum my husband's brother and wife are struggling massively to concieve and recently decided to stop any more procedures and consider adoption instead.
I was nervous about telling his wife (we aren't especially close- no conflict or anything just don't really socialise beyond family events etc). She messaged me though and thanked me for treating her normally as some other friends had tip toed around her and made her feel awkward. It's difficult- Id say don't over think it. Just be sensitive and not too over the top about it either way. Good luck. Remember though it's wonderful news and we shouldn't feel anyway dulled in our joy because of awful struggles of other people- that is not going to change their situation unfortunately. Life is just unfair sometimes 😔 Xx
