Yes it's normal. I felt good from about 12 weeks last time. Feeling better this time around 13/14 weeks. The second trimester tends to be the best when you get you energy back. Then third trimester you usually start getting tired again

Hiya, I went to my scan yesterday and saw my little one moving around! Everything looks good so far. I got the thrombophilia test done which was not fun, a lot of blood required for the test.

Moo37 · 19/06/2021 17:25

Arghh, I feel like I can't take this nausea anymore. 13 weeks today. I feel like a totally bad mother, neglecting my kids, I feel so bad for them. I just want to feel better so I can enjoy taking them places.

Em39ma · 19/06/2021 19:35

@Moo37 I know what you mean. I can’t do anything with dd, my mum is doing it. Tablets mean I’m only sick every 3/4 days now, but feel sick continuously.

AnonymousXXIX · 20/06/2021 08:07

Uugh was woken up at 5am by a wave of nausea! I know lie ins are a thing of the past when you have a baby. .. but at 12 weeks pregnant already, really??

climbershell · 20/06/2021 22:03

I'm 14+3 and laying in bed I think I just felt my first few flutters, like tiny little pops..... Tho might of course not be!

I've also been having light period like cramps on and off the last week, which the back of my mind I'm slightly worried about, but I figure it's my uterus stretching

burtle4 · 20/06/2021 23:00

@climbershell I'm 14+1 and think I'm starting to feel some movements too but it's so subtle it's hard to tell. It's hard to describe but almost like a little ripple wave very low down, can't wait for proper movements!
I'm sure the crampy feelings will be to do with the uterus stretching so try not to worry, I get sharp pains if I move to quickly

Hopesandsunshines · 21/06/2021 06:03

Oh I cant wait to feel my baby moving! It must be so beautiful. Sorry for this awful question but has any of you experienced an unpleasant smell down there and cramps in the belly? I noticed I am not peeing as much as I dont have the urge a lot during the day. I'm also not drinking as much water as I should because then I feel sick. This morning my urine was very dark and the other symptoms I mentioned.

climbershell · 21/06/2021 08:29

@burtle4 sharp pains are different though, they're round ligament pains, which I get occasionally. Cramps aren't round ligament but I'm guessing actual uterus

I'm guessing it'll be many weeks before we feel proper movement, or maybe even a week or so before even any more little pops. 5.5 weeks left before my 20 week scan. At my 12 week hospital gave me the date but not the time, still waiting on that

Scarletpig1 · 21/06/2021 12:18

If started feeling movement at 13 weeks this time. Last time (first pregnancy) don't think I felt anything until about 24 weeks. Nice to feel it early this time🥰

I am 13+4 and last light I was convinced I felt something when lying in bed also. This is my second baby.

Pineapple87 · 21/06/2021 13:19

Yep have felt mine to sound crazy but it felt like it turn over made me feel quite sick and light headed X

Em39ma · 21/06/2021 13:28

@Hopesandsunshines I’m having a lot of burning. Just been to the doctors as wasn’t sure if uti or thrush. Not a uti, but had a swab taken and been sent of to the hospital. Treating with canesten cream already as want it treat sooner rather than later. Might be worth you giving the doctor a call, as neither are good in pregnancy.

Em39ma · 21/06/2021 18:03

My sickness went up a gear this afternoon. I start throwing up blood.
Just got back from the doctors, they think I’ve burst the blood vessels in the back of my throat.
Bit scary but now on omoperzole too, hoping that it will stop the reflux from being sick. Should also reduce the swelling in the throat.

AnonymousXXIX · 21/06/2021 18:15

Holy crap @Em39ma : o makes me think twice about complaining about anything myself! I hope it improves soon!!

Em39ma · 21/06/2021 18:49

Even the doctor is feeling awful for me. He said it’s a long way to go, specially when feeling like I am. He did says there’s not a lot more then can do for me now, though I must keep calling if I’m this bad again, they will see me when ever I need it.

Hopesandsunshines · 21/06/2021 18:58

Thank you I will definitely call x hope yours get sorted soon x

AnonymousXXIX · 22/06/2021 08:40

So, I was just studying the details for the 12 week scan I have this week. It is in the X-ray dept rather than maternity wing - is that right? Because I thought they'd also take bloods etc. Do they send me to a different dept afterward? I don't have any other appointment letters.

Also, it says to bring change if you want to get pictures printed (3 GBP per picture). What?? That was not the case at my other scans. I know all hospitals are different, but is that a thing that's happened to anyone??

Heya!

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and it was in the antenatal section of the hospital called 'foetal medicine'. I had my scan there and also my bloods in a room next door. This may be different depending on what hospital you're in.

Yep, I had to pay £5 for two pictures :/

Best of luck :D

Theawkwardblonde · 22/06/2021 12:01

@AnonymousXXIX I think it's mental that they charge-is it NHS? Our 12 week scan we didn't have to pay and got 10 pics to take home. My friend however went to another NHS hospital 10 Minutes away and had to pay.
My scan was in the antenatal ward so everything done in the scan room (bloods, weight etc).

I know it may be early for a lot of us but for those who have Amazon prime-a lot of cheap deals on baby stuff today.

Sparklestars86 · 22/06/2021 16:29

@AnonymousXXIX my letter told me there would be a charge (I think £4 or something around that) and to make sure had the correct change. When I got there though I was just handed a printout of two photos by the sonographer without having to pay anything!
My sister had twins in the same hospital last November and she was just given free pics at each scan too- apparently it was COVID related then and they just seem to have not gone back to the old way yet, so you might be lucky too! Xx

AnonymousXXIX · 22/06/2021 16:43

Thanks for sharing your experience everyone! I have been on the hunt for change all day (haven't had any coins in my wallet since Feb 2020?) in case they do make me pay. Will report back!

@Theawkwardblonde I did go ahead and buy a dress in a sale this weekend that I think will be great for an event I am hoping to go to in August. Really hope I haven't jinxed anything. It's not maternity wear though.

Pineapple87 · 22/06/2021 16:52

Had my last scan last week pictures were £5 each, and card only.

Lou8319 · 22/06/2021 17:28

There was a machine that you paid cash or card for the pictures. Can’t remember if it was £12 or £15 for 5 pictures.

Scan was in antenatal ultrasound department and bloods in a room next door.

Elm98 · 22/06/2021 18:11

I think it’s really rubbish that some hospitals charge and others don’t.

Ours won’t accept money at the moment with covid so they give us three free scan pictures.

The letter we got for the appointment explained that it would be free though so we knew in advance.
