Nah, people won’t be offended if you don’t have children there. It’s fairly common.

Lots of people having baby showers have champagne and other drinks for their guests so it can be nice for women to have an afternoon/evening away from their kids to relax and have a drink.
Of course some people might struggle with childcare.

Hope everyone’s doing ok!

We have our gender scan next week and we’ve decided to tell the sonographer to keep it a secret so we can pop a balloon and have blue or pink confetti later that night.

The weather looks to be ok so we’ll have the enclosed gazebo in the garden with food, decorations and so on. I have step-children so they can pop the balloon and find out if they’re getting a brother or a sister.

I’m not bothered at all, but I’ve been sure it’s a girl since day 1 so I could be in for a surprise. 😂

Had my scan today and was due Boxing Day based on my LMP but now been moved forward to 22 December. Not sure if that's better or worse lol. I've never given birth late before (previous were 1 week early and 2 weeks early naturally!) I am PRAYING baby comes before Christmas. The earlier in the month the better 🤯

@hopesandsunshines all my scans so far 6 + 9 weeks) have been external! Somewhat to my own surprise. So expect 12 weeks to def be external.

@HelloWorld2577 I had the same, EDD by LMP was Christmas day but my scan on Monday has brought it forward to 18th December! Really don't understand as it would mean having ovulated whilst still on my period but I'm happy at being moved further from Christmas! My last two pregnancies were also both early by a couple of days so I'm really hoping the same will happen this time, reeeeallly don't want to be in hospital on Christmas day 😬

Thank you ladies I am very nervous for tomorrow! I'm happy for all of you with good news in your scans. I'm experiencing the most horrendous ankle, calf,knees, thigh, and bum pain ever in not legs equally, I feel as if I have been for a massive run it is so painful has anyone experienced this before?

@hopesandsunshines good luck for tomorrow! Re the leg pain could it be dehydration? I have like muscle cramps when I've not had enough fluids. Xx

@Sparklestars86 Yes I have not thought of that and that sounds possible as I have been sick and have not been drinking much I will try and have water thank you x

I got a lot of cramp during my pregnancy with dd. Mine was put down to hg, so getting sick and not really drinking enough.

@Hopesandsunshines that's strange, I too have had muscle pain in my left calf, like I've been for a workout. I have been far from any workout with feeling ill. Maybe just one of those things

Had first scan today. Everything looked fine 🤗Brought dates forward by one day so due date now 17th Dec

@burtle4 weird you say that about ovulating on your period. By the new EDD calculated at the scan I think it means I ovulated on cd13. But my partner was working away from home for a few weeks so we didn't dtd until cd16 that month. So I didn't think that's possible? Didn't mention it to my partner in case he's thinks I must be having an affair with the postman

😂 yeah probably best not to mention! I actually think it must be more to do with the baby measuring slightly bigger for dates as I know I ovulated on cd12 due to taking temps so can't be as far along as they think I am. It will be interesting to see how it's measuring at the 20 week scan as I think my due date should be more around 22nd. Like i said though, happy to be moved further away from Christmas!!

I’ve got my 12 weeks scan at 8.50am. Wish me luck hardly slept last night.

Good luck to you both for scans I had mine Wednesday and baby was upside down so made it trickier for measurements. Next time I’m gonna eat something sweet and have a fizzy drink. Baby all ok tho measuring one day ahead so now due 20th xx

@Em39ma I’ve got mine at 8:10am and I also barely slept a wink I’m so nervous. Hope everything goes well for you!
I’m also working until 8:30pm tonight so by the time I actually get home at 9pm I’m going to be absolutely done for.

Had scan all looking good, once the baby co-operated. Had to go for a walk in rain to get them to move.
NT higher end of normal, but had bloods so will see what that says.

Scan went great today, once baby stopped wriggling. It took around 30 mins as everytime she scanned baby flipped or put legs or arms up had blood test but NT measurements all looked normal. Came out with this picture of baby measuring exactly 12+3 so exactly as we thought to the day.

We were moved again, now due 23rd December instead of the 27th, which was moved from the 29th.

Lovely to see all the scans.

I'm not 13 weeks and am not as tired as before is this normal, suppose it makes me anxious again that somethings wrong.
