14+3 today and feeling suddenly very nervous as don't feel pregnant anymore 😂 I know they say this is normal, but... I'm a worrier! I had scan 2 weeks ago and everything was perfect, but now feel pretty much normal after a hellish first trimester of heavy bleeding and sickness every day. Can't wait for baby to start moving so I have the reassurance ❤️ how's everyone else feeling? X

@MyGrassIsBrowner LOL now you just need to shove a tissue sheet down your knickers and it's the real deal! I think as long as you know that it's for reassurance and not medical confirmation, it's okay. Gotta do what you gotta do to get through these days.
Oh my god your bump is so lovely! 😍 I still feel like I just look fat. We have a wedding next month and I feel gross in everything and like I just look podgey not pregnant. This was me last week, I don't think much has changed this week - apart from boobs feel like they're growing again!!! Xx

@Boxsky LMFAO oh my god the tissue!! 😂 and why do they insist on using absolutely LOADS of gel on the ultrasounds?! It's always absolutely freezing as well and I never managed to wipe it all away properly 😆
Don't even talk to me about weddings... DH sister has just announced shes getting married 28th March next year, day before my DD's birthday and I'll be 5 months post partum, also on top of that the venue is 3.5 hour drive from us. My DH is LIVID and he rarely gets angry.
Look at your bump, it's definitely there!!! 😍 I'll be honest, a maxi smock/tiered style dress would be perfect for you for a wedding especially if you're feeling a little self conscious about your bump. You can dress it up with some nice jewellery and some statement wedges/heels too!
God boobs... I actually think I'm about a 38H now if not a bigger cup size, I live in sports bras so my boobs are practically round my ankles at the minute 😂 xx

MyGrassIsBrowner · 09/05/2021 13:12

This is currently my view today... honestly these two are thick as thieves now! I've noticed my boy is getting more protective over her as well, he follows her around when she's crawling about. It's lovely to see! You've got all of this to look forward to! Exciting times ahead for sure! Would love to see a pic of your pooch!! Xx

Boxsky · 09/05/2021 13:29

@MyGrassIsBrowner LOL literally a whole roll of tissue and a whole bottle of gel. Leaves you sticky all day.
Oh my god what a palava hey!?? Will you have to stay away as well and spend DD away? We're having to drive 400 miles for this wedding too, I keep thinking I'll be 27 weeks pregnant... is it too early to take a hospital bag with me!?
I think I'll have to get a dress like that, I have a wrap dress which fits at the minute but we'll see next month!
😂😂😂 oh god! Bless your heart. I can't complain then, I'm a DD at the min! Xx

@Boxsky They want us down the night before for a wedding night 'coronation' whatever that shit is 🙄 and then we get accomodation paid for the night of wedding.. they're expecting us to bring DD and newborn... I have said to my DH I honestly dont know if I will be in the right mental state to try and enjoy a wedding whilst looking after a 5 month old and 2 year old so she's taken the hump with us. Dick.
Why are people chosing to get married so fricking far away from their homes and expect their guests to be okay with it. Beyond me!
I would definitely considering packing some bits though god forbid you should go into labour but honestly for my own peace of mind I certainly would.
Good luck on the dress front I am sure you will find something though chick and look equally amazing!
OH. MY. GOD. THOSE EYES 😍😍😍 wowza what a gorgeous doggy!! Xx

Boxsky · 09/05/2021 14:17

@MyGrassIsBrowner that all sounds very elaborate! But exactly you might be fine, but you might not! It'll all still be very overwhelming at that point I'm sure. Let her get the hump your gotta put yourself first!
Yeah I think there's no harm in being prepared. Even if it's not the full bag, just so I have some bits just in case.
I might be biased but she has the most beautiful eyes, it's how she gets whatever she wants... including some of my lunch! Xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 09/05/2021 15:08

@Boxsky It's a proper arse for us overall and the fact that she expects me to not even consider my DDs birthday is what's annoying me even more as I have my own family to think about too and I know they'll want to see her as hopefully by then we're back to normal life and can see everyone and anyone!
It took me a fair while to recover after my DD, I'm talking months so god knows what I could be like after this one. I certainly wont be in no mood to start stressing about wedding outfits 😆
She's so lovely, bet she gets away with murder haha!! Xx

Boxsky · 11/05/2021 17:52

@MyGrassIsBrowner yeah you deffo don't need that stress so soon. You can make the decision nearer the time and see how you feel. Gotta put yourself and baby first!!
Has your Doppler come yet lovely xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 11/05/2021 20:14

@Boxsky it hasn't come yet!!! I'm getting so impatient haha. I ordered it on the 6th as well, grrr...
Got a feeling it'll be here tomorrow lol! Hope you're well.
Wonder how all the other ladies are getting on, hope they haven't lost the thread! Xx

Boxsky · 12/05/2021 07:08

@MyGrassIsBrowner hopefully today!! How're you feeling though, still worried? I keep having dreams about baby, in most of them she comes out a boy and in all of them I'm completely unprepared! Wake up in a panic! Not long till our scans...!
I know, I hope everyone is okay and they've just lost us! Xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 12/05/2021 08:25

@Boxsky Yeah I'll be honest I'm still having my moments where I get myself really worked up. I thought I felt a little bit of movement last night in bed but I really couldn't be sure. I've lost all my symptoms now like completely so that's making my mind go into overdrive.
Doesn't help that my poor DH is feeling shit about his current job at the mo, he works in hospitality and it's just not doing it for him anymore as it's changed so much from pre covid times. He's got a fairly demanding position and this year because of how busy it'll be we've realised that I'm hardly going to see him. Anyway, someone must be looking down on him as he just found out he's got a job interview on Friday for a trade that couldn't be further from his if he tried 😂 the hours are more socialable and no more weekends or bank holidays!!! So now I'm just praying he gets it 🙉
Oh bless you on the dream front, I have a totally vivid imagination anyway so I'm always having wild and unsettling dreams but they're always worse during pregnancy. It tends to just be your subconcious mind. My DH did have a dream before we had DD that we were having a girl and she was blonde hair and blue eyes and it's completely true now lol!
Is your scan the same day as mine? 24th? Sorry it's been such a long thread and baby brain 😆 I'm so excited for our scans but the nerves are definitely kicking in now! Xx

Boxsky · 12/05/2021 09:26

@MyGrassIsBrowner bless you! I'm sure it was baby reassuring you!!!! ❤️ I feel the same with lack of symptoms. Isn't it funny, we moan when we have them and moan when we don't!!
Oh bless him! My DH is exactly the same and is also in hospitality - but best of luck for his job interview sounds like a much better fit!!!!!
Its the 20th now - next Thursday! They moved the date, luckily. But not long for either of us, but I feel you with the scanxiety! Xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 12/05/2021 12:47

@Boxsky We're never satisfied lol!! But then again we're always worrying about something or other haha think it's just a womans nature 😂
Thank you ❤ Asif your DH is in hospitality as well! What does he do? Mine is a wedding/events planner. This year is radged already for weddings and he's just fully OVER it. All the weddings are back to back as they're just trying to get as much business in as poss - but that doesn't take into consideration the poor sods running them! This job he's going for is a self employed role and it just adds for more flexibility and less stress ultimately. He's the type to put his all into his job but currently he's getting nothing back apart from crappy shifts all the time, and now baby no.2 is on the way his priorities have changed.
Sooooo the doppler arrived! Found babies heartbeat straight away 🙈 a strong 155bpm.. of course I cried like a big baby 😂 it's definitely put my mind at rest at least for now anyway. Ooooh your scan is before mine, wow just over a week away now eeeek! 🥰 xx

Boxsky · 12/05/2021 18:35

@MyGrassIsBrowner it doesn't help my phone seems to know my anxiety and my Facebook, Instagram, google ads are full of stories of premature babies and scary stories!
How coincidental is that! He works in operations for a fast food chain! But I totally understand what you mean about weddings. One of the most hard hit industries... but the new job sounds so much better for your family dynamic!
I'm so glad the Doppler reassured you!!!!! What a relief I'm so happy for you!! I think I've been feeling a little bit of movement today, no kicks yet tho but something.
Yes! It was 24th but I asked them to move it 😂 week tomorrow and counting xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 12/05/2021 20:31

@Boxsky Oh yeah same here! I think our phones tap into us 😏
Feel so sorry for couples who have had to book and re-book their weddings no end but now they all want them this year! 🙈
He's been in the industry over a decade but now he wants something with more freedom. He's always worked weekends as did I before I became a SAHM so not working weekends will be a massive shock to him, probs wont know what to do with himself lol!
I'd actually recommend a doppler, mine was off eBay, even if it's for a bit of fun. You can tell babies heartbeat straight away as it's much much faster than ours usually over 140bpm.
Used it for the 2nd time tonight and baby kept moving, we were following them around haha! I actually felt a kick as well.. must have been them telling us to stop poking! 😆 xx

Boxsky · 15/05/2021 09:30

@MyGrassIsBrowner sorry been quiet a few days! Had the worst migraine and checked BP at home and it was high so called hospital and they said to come in for reassurance but when I got there they belittled me and told me off for doing my BP at home so much I had a cry 🤦🏻‍♀️ luckily baby and I are ok, but I'd feel so uncomfortable going back if I had any concerns!!!
How are you doing? Better with Doppler? Xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 15/05/2021 10:16

@Boxsky Oh forgod sake they sound like absolute wankers 🤬 they told me to never feel like I'm wasting their time by calling or going in. So sorry they made you feel like that 😟
I'm doing okay thank you, I'm feeling big kicks now, they only started a couple of days ago! So much so they've been enough to make my belly move! Have you been feeling kicks?
DH interview went well yesterday and he's going for a trial on Tuesday so he can get a feel for it. He's just had his rota through for the next couple of weeks and it's absolutely shocking, so he really wants out! Xx

Boxsky · 15/05/2021 10:35

@MyGrassIsBrowner honestly it was awful! In front of other women too, and saying to one another in front of me 'she's just one of those anxious first time mums' 🤦🏻‍♀️ DH was fuming! I'm deffo feeling little nudges! I'm so excited for you that you're feeling proper kicks! How amazing. And just the reassurance you need.
Oh I'm so glad it went well! Fingers crossed for next week too xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 15/05/2021 11:14

@Boxsky I really frigging hate that, even us 2nd/3rd/4th time mums are still anxious so it's a load of bollocks saying 'first time mum' nerves. There was no need to be-little you but I'd be tempted to tell your midwives and complain frankly, especially if it brought you to tears. Urgh I'm so angry for you.
Sometimes I do feel like they dont take us seriously. When I wasn't feeling movement I was so so worried (basically started crying down the phone to the midwife as well) but I got the impression that because this is my second baby I was overreacting 😑 you should never ever feel like you're wasting their time, because mothers instinct is usually right anyway! I'm 19 weeks today which is just insane lol! I can't wait for our 20 week scans!! 🥰 xx

Boxsky · 15/05/2021 16:37

@MyGrassIsBrowner honestly I couldn't believe it. I wasn't there for long and I said to them on the phone I feel reassured after speaking to them, but they insisted! Honestly. I thought about changing hospitals as I live in middle of two, but I think it'll be much the same anywhere.
Congrats on 19 weeks lovely! Can't believe I'm 20!! Got a pot of Ben and Jerry's half baked to celebrate her being half baked 😂 only a few more days and you can find out if it's a little boy or girl.... we bought nursery curtains today... super important 😂 xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 15/05/2021 17:16

@Boxsky it's just uncalled for, they should be ashamed!!
Have you thought about the birth yet? Or thought about how you might like to give birth? Do you have a MLU at the hospitals you are near? I was low risk with my first and had her on an MLU. The labour ward was next door so I could be wheeled through if I came into any complications.
I had a very quick labour at 4.5 hours so I'm dreading how quickly I might have this next one 😂
Congrats on being 20 weeks!! 🥰
Oh my god sorting the nursery out is so exciting!! I'm in home renovation mode now again and wanting to renovate our hallway/stairs and landing! I wanna rip up the carpets, re-paint the walls and paint the floorboards underneath then buy a runner for the stairs and landing. My DH thinks im bloody mental but I get bored quickly lol!!! Xx

Boxsky · 15/05/2021 17:56

@MyGrassIsBrowner I bought 'the happy birth book' today so gonna give that a read, but yeah I'm quite keen on MLU and I'm not too proud to ask for drugs if needed 😂 I'm being induced tho on her due date if she hasn't already come, so I don't know if that'll change plans so trying to stay flexible. have you thought about it? Fingers crossed you have another quick one!!!
My app said this morning that now starts the nesting phase, so you're obviously in it too but to the extreme 😂😂 super exciting. My mum is painting a mural on a wall in half term so in a couple of weeks, it should look like her room xx

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 15/05/2021 18:55

@Boxsky you do right, if you need drugs GET THEM. On the MLU you only have access to etonox and pethidine so just be aware of that if you aren't already. If you want an epidural they have to transfer you onto the labour ward and you just pray they have a bed spare for you.
I wont lie it's the crowning that hurt me the most I thought I was going to rip in two! 😂
My DD was back to back though which is supposedly the most painful of births so I'm kinda hoping baby will get into the right position this time haha.
Why are you being induced when you hit full-term? Medical reasons or just dont want to go over? I went over by a week but I had two sweeps which I asked for. The second one started me off as the midwife did an amazing job lol.
Honestly I'm a nutcase, I've been looking at hiring power tools and all sorts, specifically a big floor sander as we'd need to sand the floorboards 😂
Awww that sounds lovely! I've got a swan theme in DDs room and it's lovely but now I'd wish I'd gone for a more neutral theme. Xx

Boxsky · 15/05/2021 19:36

@MyGrassIsBrowner exactly that!!! 😂 oh god, I can literally only imagine, even thinking about crowning is making me cringe!! Yes, for sure, fingers crossed this next baby isn't back to back and it's nice and easy!
Cos baby is an IVF baby, my hospital don't like IVF to go over the due date as there's increased risks. I've got an appointment to go through my options at about 36 weeks. I'm hoping I can get a sweep in and that'll do the job!
You are mad 😂😂 I hope you won't be using all these big power tools! But it'll all look gorgeous when it's done I'm sure xx
