14+3 today and feeling suddenly very nervous as don't feel pregnant anymore 😂 I know they say this is normal, but... I'm a worrier! I had scan 2 weeks ago and everything was perfect, but now feel pretty much normal after a hellish first trimester of heavy bleeding and sickness every day. Can't wait for baby to start moving so I have the reassurance ❤️ how's everyone else feeling? X

@Boxsky you're a week ahead of me aren't you? 😊 I feel you, got aches and pains everywhere but my pregnancy symptoms have gone and I'm giving my midwife a call tomorrow as I'm just a little concerned as I haven't felt baby move yet, like at all, no flutters or bubbles like I did with my DD. I'm of the belief that if something doesn't feel right get it checked out. I've been looking at missed miscarraiges which REALLY isn't helping my anxiety but I guess sometimes it's just human nature to think the worst. My midwives are only down the road from me so I'm hoping they'll just invite me down and have a listen with the doppler as I haven't had that done yet. X

Boxsky · 02/05/2021 11:49

@MyGrassIsBrowner yeah, I'm 18+1 today. Do you know where your placenta is? That could be causing the delay in movements but defo best to get checked out! Even if it's for your own peace of mind. I know what you mean though. I watched gogglebox yesterday and there was the program about operating on a 19 week old baby in womb and since then I've been a mess. I was so ready to buy furniture but now I feel neurotic. I have my midwife appt Tuesday so hopefully she'll calm me down. Let me know how you get on if they are able to see you!! X

@Boxsky Yeah I'm 17+1 we're exactly one week difference 🥰

I have no idea where my placenta is this time as the ignorant sonographer barely said a word during my scan 🙄 I'm fairly sure I got to listen to heartbeat with my DD at 12 week scan but didn't this time either. Something just isn't sitting right with me and I am starting to get myself worked up about it. I just laid in bed last night crying cradling my barely there bump feeling sorry for myself lol. The midwives are open today but my DH is at work and I want him with me so I'll wait until tomorrow morning then call. I know every pregnancy is different but with my DD I was VERY aware I was pregnant at 17/18 weeks my whole body felt... different.
Of course I'll update you tomorrow if they see me!

Dont even get me started on the sad baby programmes, theres a new one on TV cant quite remember the name but a lady had twins and one of them had died in the womb and it showed you her giving birth to him, you should have seen the state of me my DH had to turn it off. Bloody torture what we do to ourselves lol.

Oooh I hope your MW check goes okay! Is it face to face? X

Boxsky · 02/05/2021 12:31

@MyGrassIsBrowner oh my god bless your heart 😭❤️ sending you a hug through mumsnet! I cannot believe they didn't reassure you or tell you anything in your 12 weeks, that's awful. Surely they'll have to see you tomorrow as it's causing you so much stress and that won't be helping at all. There's nothing anyone can say either until you hear that heartbeat for yourself so you know they're ok

It's awful isn't it. I feel like they shouldn't show things like that, but it's peoples real life I suppose. But super triggering for us at the moment!

Yes it is luckily!! I'm hoping she'll let me listen to heartbeat then. I'm gonna try and get them to move my 20 week scan forwards, they booked it when they had me dated later so I'm booked in for nearly 22 weeks which seems like so far away! X

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/05/2021 13:58

@Boxsky Aww bless you! Sending you a virtual hug back too! ❤

It's a harsh reality for some isn't it, so so awful I couldn't even begin to fathom what they're going through.

This is it, until you have it confirmed that baby is there and well you just can't seem to rest properly. I just hope they'll get me in there and then as I just dont think I can wait any longer. My next appointment with the midwife isn't until 28 weeks so I'm feeling somewhat neglected at the minute but it's purely because it's my 2nd baby, which to be honest doesn't make it any easier lol.

I'm sure she'll use the doppler at your appointment and I reckon she'll measure your bump too to see where baby is positioned.
I miss going for my midwife appointments tbh, it's nice just to get out the house for a bit change of scenery 🙈

I'd definitely see if you can have your 20 week scan brought forward, pretty shitty of them to make you wait until 20 weeks fgs! X

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/05/2021 13:59

22 weeks I meant... bloody phone 🙄 x

Boxsky · 02/05/2021 15:00

@MyGrassIsBrowner I definitely think they will see you as it's causing you so much stress! That seems so long away doesn't it... seems unfair that just because it's your second you don't get the contact and reassurance throughout. Hopefully she does! I can't imagine her measuring my bump, she'll have a hard time finding it 😂 seems so late doesn't it! I just want the reassurance from anatomy scan x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/05/2021 15:52

@Boxsky I'll call first thing in the morning and hopefully will get some reassurance 😌
I've got the Snooker final to watch today so that's taking my mind off things for now, lol.

You'd be suprised at them measuring your bump! The midwife will be able to feel the top of your uterus and she'll measure from the top of your pubic bone to the top of uterus. I have never been able to feel my uterus but the midwives have some sort of special skill and just seem to know exactly where it is 😂
If you're really not showing she might not bother but I remember them doing mine quite early on with my DD.

To be honest if I had the cash right now I'd be going for a private scan without a doubt. Bit excessive I know but I'm so desperate to see them 😭 x

Boxsky · 03/05/2021 10:15

@MyGrassIsBrowner how're you feeling this morning lovely? Did you manage to call them? X

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/05/2021 10:56

@Boxsky Hiya lovely! Just nicely got off the phone to them. They said I did right calling but not to be worried as they aren't. They said they could get me in to have a listen with doppler, but if they struggle to find a heartbeat it'll set more unecessary worry in which is fair enough. She just said to me enjoy feeling normal and look forward to my 20 week scan. She did say they wont tell me where placenta is until then anyway so she said you might have anterior placenta for all I know. I'd say it's put my mind at rest but I guess the fact that I've had no cramps or unusual pains I just gotta go with the flow now! X

Boxsky · 03/05/2021 15:15

@MyGrassIsBrowner I'm so glad you feel a little calmer! I think that's what we need to remember - as long as there's no blood or cramps, assume everything is okay. My husband had to talk me down today cos I got upset that other peoples bumps are bigger and they're feeling baby by now... but, comparison is the thief of joy! As long as our babies are healthy. I bought some cute baby outfits today in next outlet (£2 each!) so allowed myself to feel excited x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 04/05/2021 08:22

@Boxsky Awh thank you!
This is exactly what the midwife said, she said basically new news is good news. I haven't had any bleeding throughout this pregnancy or my last, so I should count myself lucky really.
This is your first isn't it? Dont even worry about not feeling baby yet or having a bump! It might be that you end up carrying small all along your pregnancy, or you may just magically pop over night! Mine was the latter and then I went overdue and my bump was HUGE 😂🙈
Oooh so exciting buying clothes! I've kinda lost the excitement on that front this time as if I'm having a girl she'll get all of my DD's clothes, a lot of them she barely wore! They end up living in sleep suits as it's so much easier to change them (especially the ones with zips!) They're a game changer.

Oh god I had a right melt down last night and for once it wasn't hormonal or pregnancy related. So me and DH were celebrating our 4th anniversary and I decided to cook us a nice meal that contained chillis. I STUPIDLY decided to start de-seeding and cutting the chillis up gloveless and by 10pm last night I thought my hands were gonna explode. I had my hands in a bowl of freezing cold milk most of the night it was agony 😂 note to self, dont cut chillis without gloves. X

Boxsky · 04/05/2021 16:38

@MyGrassIsBrowner it's so difficult though isn't it to get out of your head and stop worrying. I totally get it. Had midwife today, and heard her heartbeat 💗 student midwife initially told me it was too fast, which obviously panicked me! But, the midwife did it and said it was fine. 148bpm I think she said. Yes, my first baby - she did say the flutterings can take up until 25 weeks so I'll try not to panic! Hahaha!!! That would be fun for us, huge in height of summer!!!
Oh bless you. The excitement will come, even if it's not clothes. Or who knows, might be boy!!!!!! It's freaked me out I have 4 more paydays haha!
Oh no!!! What an end to a Monday 😂 hope you're ok now x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 04/05/2021 18:17

@Boxsky I'm so glad your MW appointment went well! Oh forgoodness sake fancy her saying that and panicking you! rolls eyes
They're still so tiny so the heartbeat does tend to be somewhat fast anyway.
Yeah the midwife said that to me too about the flutterings.

I'm convinced I'm having a girl again this time but a boy would be lovely! Jesus 4 more paydays just sounds mental doesn't it 🙈 still can't believe we're nearly half way!!

My hands are less burny now lmfao. Oh it was absolute agony! 😂 I'll never cut chillis again without gloves lol. X

Boxsky · 06/05/2021 18:53

@MyGrassIsBrowner I know! I don't know why they decided to worry me like that! 😂
Not long and you'll get confirmation of what they are, so excited for you!!!!
How're you feeling lovely? Hope your hands are better 😂x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 06/05/2021 22:07

@Boxsky
My 20 week scan still feels like an eternity away, but then again I'm impatient as hell 😂
I'm feeling okay - ish.. lol. I had a bit of a wobble yesterday, got it into my head something was seriously wrong with baby as I haven't felt any movements yet. Properly freaked myself out crying down the phone to my DH whilst he was on his way home from work. My DD was playing me up as well which wasn't helping my stress levels 🙈 I've got a feeling I may have anterior placenta this time as I definitely felt movement with my DD by now but I guess I'll find out at my next scan lol!
My hands are finally back to normal now but my god was I in agony haha!!
How are you feeling?? X

Boxsky · 07/05/2021 06:25

@MyGrassIsBrowner 😂 I feel you, I'm impatient as hell as well. Got a countdown app on my phone and all sorts!
Bless you! We're pregnant, we're allowed wobbles!!!! Especially if you were having a difficult day with DD. I think you're amazing for managing to do this whilst having a child already, I'm tired all the time so I don't know how you're doing it ❤️ i bet you do have an anterior one, it'll make so much sense!! I know mine is posterior so I should have felt her more by now so I'm having daily wobbles too. Some days I feel tickling inside and I get excited, other days I don't and I worry. Always something. Only a couple of weeks (and half) till scan! Not too long in grand scheme of things. We've made it this far 💪🏼
I'm doing okay.. other than my wobbles too 😂 I freaked out I was leaking amniotic fluid yesterday as I felt very... (tmi) wet... 🤭 down there, but tbh I sneezed like 6 times in a row with hay fever so I'm trying to justify it as that 😂😂 x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 07/05/2021 11:49

@Boxsky yeah we really don't have that long to wait now do we 🥰 I've got the pregnancy+ app on my phone so all my appointments are stored on there hehe.
Aww bless you thank you 💖 not gonna lie somedays it is really hard but I'm lucky that I'm not working, I just couldn't do it. My DD still generally has a nap during the day so if I'm particularly tired I go to sleep when she does and just recharge myself. With it being your first though you never know if what your feeling is baby or gas 😂 I'd say by 20-22 weeks you'll be feeling strong kicks by then and daily!
Oh bless you, I feel you on the feeling 'wet' front as I'm losing a fair bit of clear discharge at the moment but MW said it's totally normal.
Oh you poor thing hayfever is a bitch!!
What date is your scan again? Mine is 24th.. not long now hehe 🥰 x

Boxsky · 07/05/2021 14:29

@MyGrassIsBrowner good idea!!! I've not inputted all mine in. That's a job for the weekend. Bless you, sounds like a good system. I work in a school and I'm exhausted! Hopefully soon I will, deffo feeling something odd now and then.
Oh good, glad it's not just me 😂😂 my google history is weird if anyone looks at it! They moved it a few days forward to 20th, both are soooo soon now realistically! X

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 07/05/2021 16:26

@Boxsky we have a calender in the kitchen that we updated regularly but I feel better having it on my phone.. you know in case I ever forget (baby brain) lmao.
I well and truly take my hat off to you, do you work primary or secondary? I can imagine working in a primary school could actually be a really lovely job though.
Hahaha oh my god right, I'm glad my DH has no interest in looking at my phone cause if he saw my google history he'd definitely leave me 😅
Eeeek I'm so excited for us both now!! Just so glad my appointment is in the morning, will be too busy doing my morning routine with DD to even dwell on my scan. I prewarned DH I might end up squeezing his hand off when I'm on the bed during the scan I'm gonna be so nervous lol. X

Boxsky · 08/05/2021 20:07

@MyGrassIsBrowner lmao baby brain is a real thing!
Primary, I'm the office manager and it is a super fun and rewarding job (holidays are great!) but there's always so much happening and to think about, it's hard with baby brain!
Oh my word I know! Today, for some reason, I've been Googling symptoms of incompetent cervix. I have no reason to believe I have it, but it's a real fear of mine and I have no idea why! I'm gonna make them check on my cervix at scan!
Yes!! Practice for labour, squeeze that hand! Can't wait. I hope it flies by x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 09/05/2021 00:16

@Boxsky Oh that's fab but my god yeah I bet that's a full on job!!
Oh bless you, you do right getting them to check it over even if it's just for your own peace of mind.
My recent Google search was placenta previa and now I'm freaking myself out about that. God the things we do to ourselves!!! Well I'm still not feeling any movement so I've done a really daft thing and in total meltdown mode I've ordered a doppler. Probably not the best idea I've ever had but I need my mind putting at rest and I probably wont hear babies heartbeat with a doppler until my 28 week appointment with the midwife! 😩 x

@MyGrassIsBrowner if you think it'll help then do it doll! Just don't let it scare you more. We only have a couple of weeks to get through before scan day anyway so now is the time to Doppler as you'll have confirmation soon all is ok if you can't find anything! Let me know how you get on, I've been sooo tempted too x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 09/05/2021 09:26

@Boxsky I know a lot of women get flamed for buying dopplers because it can cause unecessary worry but I'm a big girl and I know roughly where baby is situated so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a HB. I only ordered a fairly cheap one off eBay think it was about £15. I also ordered the ultrasound gel just to add to authenticity 😂 my DH is like a little kid he keeps messaging me whilst he's at work asking if it has arrived yet 😂
I'll let you know how it goes!
How is your bump coming along? This was me yesterday, I felt bloody huge 😂 xx

14 weeks - anyone else!?
