14+3 today and feeling suddenly very nervous as don't feel pregnant anymore 😂 I know they say this is normal, but... I'm a worrier! I had scan 2 weeks ago and everything was perfect, but now feel pretty much normal after a hellish first trimester of heavy bleeding and sickness every day. Can't wait for baby to start moving so I have the reassurance ❤️ how's everyone else feeling? X

@Boxsky drink a bit of cold water before you go in for your scan and have a good jiggle about! The NHS 20 week scans tend to be pretty long anyway so plenty of time for baby to get in a good position anyway.

I'm just feeling so crap with this pregnancy, hate my body now, I know I've produced a beautiful little girl and I'm blessed to be growing another but my body has changed so much and I dont recognise the person I see in a mirror anymore. I always struggled with my weight in my teens and I lost a lot of weight before my DD. I got to 9.5st and I never felt so confident. I know I've got all the time in the world to lose weight after this one but I'm dreading summer, literally dreading it 😭 no little summer dresses for me lol.
How are you ladies feeling? Any of you still dealing with sickness? X

Boxsky · 18/04/2021 18:03

@MyGrassIsBrowner I plan on having a sip of slush puppy or something super cold and sugary to give baby a little energy boost 😂

Bless you. I know exactly how you feel my lovely I lost 2 stone before treatment. but your body, whether you recognise it or not, is working perfectly and growing another beautiful baby. It'll be the hormones too! I spent about 3 hours crying at desperate housewives today. I have had (what google tells me) is lightning crotch today...!! Thought I had been stabbed up the yoohoo, took me right by surprise 😂 I thought it was too early for this joy x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 18/04/2021 19:22

@Boxsky OH MY GOD SLUSH PUPPY..... 🤤🤤🤤 what I would actually do for one of those!!

I know I just need to roll with it for now as I can change it all when I've had baby, but somedays I feel so bloody awful about myself. I dont think lockdown has particularly helped either tbh as I've barely been out!

Ohh the old lightening crotch I remember that very well the first time it certainly takes you by suprise 😅 the one thing I never got with my first was Braxton Hicks though.. so I wonder if I'll get those this time round x

CaptainSpirit · 18/04/2021 21:45

Evening ladies!! 💕

@MyGrassIsBrowner Sorry to hear you're feeling low about your appearance at the moment. Flowers It is so tricky isn't it because as incredible as our bodies are right now they're constantly changing (and expanding 😬) - I've definitely noticed I seem to be a bit chunkier around the face this time round.
Summer will be a strange one because we're going to be so big by then! I'm planning on t-shirt dresses, though I might just end up looking like a tent. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ah well!
You can probably blame your hormones a bit too, I bet you don't look nearly as bad as you think you do!

@Boxsky Ahh I love Desperate Housewives, I've already watched it twice in the past but I'm planning on rewatching again soon! 😍 Where about are you up to?
Also a big fan of Slush Puppies, now that you mention it I really fancy one right now!

Well I went for my scan this afternoon... I'm having another baby girl!! 😍😍 I'm so thrilled, I can't believe I'm going to be the mum to three little girls. ❤️

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 04:44

@CaptainSpirit
Yeah it's one of those isn't, love the fact that our bodies are growing something so special but constantly battling with getting your head around your new body. I have lost major amounts of weight before and I can certainly do it again but I probably wont be in any state to start it until next year.

Unfortunately ladies I cant join you on the Desperate Housewives chat! Admittedly never watched it lol.

Oh my good lawdddddd, another girl! That's bloody amazing! I've got a feeling this one is a girl again but we'll see if my feelings are correct 🤣
Bet it was amazing seeing her again ❤

CaptainSpirit · 19/04/2021 08:49

@MyGrassIsBrowner Ah it was so lovely, she was so wiggly and active! I've had four scans with her now and each one she's been such a mover. 🙈 Plus it feels so nice to get to say 'she' now instead of 'it'. And we got a little 4D sneak peek!!

How're you getting on, are you feeling the glow yet or still a bit icky? 🤢

Managed to post the pic twice. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 11:00

@CaptainSpirit awww wow that 4D scan is amazing!! So jealous. I had a 4D scan with my DD but I got it done at around 32 weeks and she was just too big and ALL of the pics were distorted. Came out feeling so deflated as the scan made her look deformed and obviously as you do, I started worrying unecessarily that something was wrong with her 🙄 i'll link a pic if I can find one!

I'm not getting the glow yet, the only thing glowing is my bloody shoulders that I burnt in the sun yesterday lmfao 🤣 ive got cystic acne all over my chin area thats so painful and weepy, its really getting me down. Are you feeling the 'glow' yet?
Im going shopping tomorrow for the first time in months and I just cant wait to get out, gonna hit some charity shops up and Primark (which I havent graced for absolute years) hoping I can get my DD some clothes and new baby of course hehe x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 11:02

Forgot to link my 4D scan! Bloody horrific it was lol. X

Good Afternoon lovely

@Boxsky
@CaptainSpirit
@GummyBear91
@penguin7

How are we ladies doing? Anyone close to getting their 20 week scan? I've got until 24th May to wait for mine.. seems like an age away. I just feel like I'm being left to it this time considering the midwife doesn't need to see me until I'm 28 weeks lol. I'm 15+4 now.
Anyone felt any movement yet? I haven't felt anything definite but I didn't feel my DD until I was around 18 weeks so I'm not giving it much thought at the moment. X

GummyBear91 · 21/04/2021 12:17

@MyGrassIsBrowner

My 20 week scan is on the 7th with a cervical scan on the 6th so I should see baby on the 6th as well because they apparently check baby is ok before. I'm having the cervical scan because of a previous LLETZ procedure. So they are coming up pretty soon for me. I think the wait feels longer the closer to get though!

I started feeling something around 15/16 weeks but wasn't sure if it was wind but definitely feeling movement now (I'm 17w4d today). I'm a slim build with a short body so I don't think baby has anywhere to hide. Last night I swear my bump had a moment where I could see where baby was moving and my DH saw it too which was lovely as the movements are strong enough for him to feel yet.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 21/04/2021 13:53

@GummyBear91 Aww hun I hope that goes well for you! So lovely you dont have long to wait until you see baby now. Even more amazing that you're seeing and feeling movement now too and that your DH can feel them!! 🥰
I've got a bit of extra padding now this is my second so I think I'm probably a while off feeling anything yet 🤣 though I wish I could as it's still a constant worry not knowing how baba is doing in there. I used to find my movements so reassuring.

penguin7 · 21/04/2021 18:32

Hello everyone! Hope all is well with you all! I'm 17wks2days today, got my 20wk scan on 14th May. I've been back to work this week (work in a school) and my work clothes do feel tighter now and my bras are feeling so uncomfortable! I have always had larger boobs anyway but feeling now is the time to start buying new bras! Anyone got any ideas of good bras? Wired/underwired? I've always worn wired due to their size but thinking underwired will be much more comfortable! I haven't felt any sign of movement yet so eagerly waiting that!

Boxsky · 21/04/2021 19:23

Hi all! Had my gender scan today... and I was wrong! Baby girl on the way 💗💗💗 obviously freaked myself out cos it looked like she wasn't moving much in the scan, but sonographer was happy and left with a heartbeat bear too! Hasn't stopped me worrying that she should be wriggling more!!
@penguin7 I work in a school too! When are you planning on being off school? I've found underwire bras a godsend recently
@MyGrassIsBrowner I still think what I'm feeling is gas bubbles 😂 especially with how lazy she seemed in scan! X

penguin7 · 21/04/2021 20:13

@Boxsky my due date is 27th Sept so...was thinking may start my maternity two weeks before so I will be 38 weeks. That means after the Summer holidays I will go back for a total of 8 working days (3 INSET days and 5 school days) I was going to just do the 3 INSET days and then finish but my head said for the other 5 days I can just be office based doing admin stuff that way trying to extend my leave start date as much as possible. However, this is my first and I really am unsure how I am going to be feeling? When do you think you will finish?

Congratulations on the gender! 💖 A baby girl!
We're not going to find out and have a surprise!x

Boxsky · 21/04/2021 20:23

@penguin7 my school are super supportive and have said I can work from home whenever I want (not just after 28 weeks - current guidance is to be WFH in third trimester so check with your school!) so I'll probably do up to summer hols then work from home until baby girl decides to come. Wish I could have waited! 😂 the surprise will be amazing for you x

OP posts:
penguin7 · 21/04/2021 20:37

Yes I was thinking of the 28 week guidance so will ask about that during my next risk assessment. Just not sure if the guidance will be changing as the months go on and lockdown eases. It would be good if I didn't have to go back after the Summer holidays. How long are you going to have off for maternity leave?

I like the idea of a surprise and I've got my girls names sorted but can't think of any boys names I like at the minute so I'm thinking I bet I'm having a boy and I'm not prepared!haha x

Boxsky · 21/04/2021 20:53

@penguin7 I think 28 guidance will be about for a while - the children won't be vaccinated neither will a lot of younger population. Deffo worth an ask anyway! I think I want to go back the week before summer hols next year. When are you thinking? That's what happened to us today!! Had a boys name sorted, but no ideas for girls x

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 21/04/2021 21:38

@Boxsky congrats on your scan lovely! Baba was probably having a lazy day. They always seem to go camera shy when it comes to scans as well!! 🤣 x

CaptainSpirit · 21/04/2021 22:24

Ooh this thread fell off my watching, I've got a lot to catch up on!

@MyGrassIsBrowner I'm so sorry about your cystic acne getting you down, that sounds horrendous to have to deal with. Sad You poor thing, is it a permanent thing at the mo or does it come and go?
Oh no your DDs pic doesn't look distorted, look at that cute little nose! 😍 I've never had a 4D one where they're big enough to actually look like a proper human baby. 🙈

@penguin7 How are your current bras feeling at the moment, are the cups too small or are they too tight around the ribs/chest area?
The size of my boobs haven't changed much during this pregnancy (still breastfeeding DD2 so poor boobs don't know who they are anymore 😂) but my bras were getting unbearably tight around my ribs - I bought bra extenders recently and they've been a god send!

@Boxsky Ahh congratulations, a little girl! 😍 Those heartbeat bears are really sweet too, so lovely that you can now listen to her heartbeat whenever you like now. ❤️
I was like that too, firmly settled on a boys name and then it turned out she's a little girl! I think we've found her name now though, I keep saying it over and over and writing it down and I love it. Smile

I think I'm starting to feel movement! I'm 16+5 today. Smile
Has anyone bought anything for their little ones yet?

MyGrassIsBrowner · 22/04/2021 06:38

@penguin7 Oh hun I feel your pain. Size 38H over here and at the moment my back is in bits. I normally wear a sports bra day to day as I literally can't bear a wired bra at the moment.
A good, supportive sports bra can do wonders.

@CaptainSpirit hey lovely!! Hope you're well. Yeah the acne has been rife from the moment I got pregnant, it seems to get worse before it get's better which is so frustrating, just a constant cycle!

I haven't bought anything new yet for bean however we're trying to decide on a new pram. I think I've narrowed it down to the Bugaboo Chameleon 3 plus and the Bugaboo Fox 2 but I'm going to get it second hand as they're so expensive new!
The 4D scan we got definitely resembles my DD but I was so dissapointed in the quality of the images, of course, the cord was in her face and she kept putting her hands up 🤣 x

penguin7 · 22/04/2021 06:55

@Boxsky I think I'm going to go back next June, 5 weeks before we finish for Summer as that's when my maternity pay would end.

@CaptainSpirit @MyGrassIsBrowner thank you for the bra advice! I was actually looking at the bra extender on M&S theyre £5 for a pack of three which is good. My cup size is still fine it's just the band feels tighter. I will have a look for sports bras too that's a good idea.

If anyone has any boy recommendations let me know. As I said to @Boxsky we're not going to find out what we're having so I thinking I'm sorted with a girls name but struggling to find boys names.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 22/04/2021 10:27

@penguin7 ooooh what name have you got for a girl? We're going with Macy if we have a girl. We wanted Leo for a boy but we're on the fence now as it's quite a popular name. I really like Theo as well but again it's becoming quite a popular name. Not that it particularly matters but it would be nice for them not to go to school with a whole other bunch of kids with their name lol. X

CaptainSpirit · 22/04/2021 10:48

@MyGrassIsBrowner Ah pram shopping is exciting! But yes so expensive brand new. 😳 My two elder girls are in a double buggy at the mo, when the new baby comes I'm just going to turf the oldest out and pop the newest in. Sorted. 😂
I haven't bought much yet, just a 'My First Christmas' shirt that was really cheap in the sales and some cute cot sheets - I have a billion screenshots of nursery things I can't wait to get my hands on though!

@penguin7 Ooh yes I'd definitely recommend the bra extenders, they've helped me immensely! Feel like I can actually breathe comfortably again. 🙈
Re boys names what sort of style names do you like? I didn't have a huge boys list but on mine I had Asher, Jonah and Robin. Had my two older girls been boys they'd have been Charlie and Tyler as well. Smile

Think we're definitely going for Luna for our little girl! Luckily my DH isn't bothered about middle names so I've basically had free reign with all the kids. 🤣 So I really like Luna Elizabeth. ❤️
