Thanks @Bubbles1st I am due on the 1st of September, we are team yellow for now.

Sceptre86 · 15/04/2021 14:48

@mumof23188 my 20 week scan is on the 21st April, I think there is a few of us with scans around the same time and we can keep each other company. X

Squibble84 · 15/04/2021 14:52

Wow, there’s so much to catch up on when you miss a few days! I’ve been struggling with anxiety about the 20 week scan so can’t wait until Monday when I’ll have the scan and hopefully find out all is ok!

Welcome to the newbies!

@Bubbles1st I think that’s a great idea about the list of dates and genders, my due date is 6th September and we’re team yellow so won’t be finding out the sex!

Rach921 · 15/04/2021 15:04

Girls, this is tmi, but I’ve had a really dodgy tummy the last few days. I haven’t got a temperature or anything. Our heating broke Sunday so it’s been freezing and I think I may have got a bit of a chill. I’ve been keeping hydrated etc but wondered if anyone knows if I can take anything? I read that immodium I can’t have pregnant x

Poppins2016 · 15/04/2021 15:33

@Rach921 You can use Dioralyte sachets during pregnancy. The other recommendation would be to speak to a pharmacist (if you can't get there in person I've always found them helpful if you need to check something over the phone).

One more thought... have you eaten anything unusual (whether foodstuff or quantity) for you? E.g. I find pregnancy makes my digestive system really sensitive, particularly to dairy!

Hope you feel better soon!

Rach921 · 15/04/2021 15:39

@Poppins2016 thank you, I’ll do that.

I’ve been thinking about what I’ve been eating and wondered if it was too much dairy. I don’t drink milk as it does make me ill but I’m ok with cheese etc in small quantities, but I’ve had a fair bit, and also yoghurts and chocolate so wondering if my body has reacted to that

Poppins2016 · 15/04/2021 15:50

@Rach921 it's funny you say that... my worst triggers at the moment are milk chocolate and yoghurt (dodgy tummy and diarrhoea are the result - I'll join you in the TMI club)!

I'm mildly dairy intolerant when not pregnant (I have oat milk on cereal and restrict my cheese/yoghurt/chocolate intake but don't completely exclude them)... Annoyingly I've been really craving Greek yoghurt recently (yoghurt alternatives just don't hit the spot - they don't taste the same) and it's made me unwell, serves me right for eating something I know I shouldn't!

Rach921 · 15/04/2021 15:55

@Poppins2016 that sounds exactly like me! I’m an oat milk girl and limit my other dairy usually. But I’ve been ploughing my way through Easter chocolate and also been craving Greek yoghurt and the protein ones. That is probably what it is!

Tummy ache and diarrhoea since Monday. I’ll cut back and see if that helps, thank you (having just eaten a malteaser bunny) it didn’t even occur to me that pregnancy could make my intolerance worse

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 16:18

Thank you @aurora2021, @unicornpower, @bewitchingnight and @mumof23188.

The midwife I saw was lovely. Listened to the heartbeat and said it was strong (146 bpm) and baby was moving lots. Was not concerned about the watery discharge and told me what to look for to indicate it might be my waters.
Feel reassured and relieved! 2 weeks until my 20 week scan (I'll be 21 weeks). Thanks all. Feel a bit silly but glad I got checked as I'm back to feeling relaxed. I think once I had got a thought in my mind, I just began to worry so needed a bit of reassurance 😊

Rach921 · 15/04/2021 16:24

@AdventuresAwait I’m so pleased everything was ok. It must be such a relief for you ❤️

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 16:38

Thank you! @Rach921 xx

Kirky658 · 15/04/2021 16:46

@adventuresawait glad all is well! I don't think you should feel silly, my midwife always says if something doesn't feel right to call 🙂

I'm getting so nervous for my 20nweek scan now. Keep snapping at anyone who asks me "how's baby" I want to say "I HAVE NO IDEA AND THAT'S GIVING ME MAJOR ANXIETY SO THANKS FOR BRINGING IT UP!!" anyone else like that?!

aurora2021 · 15/04/2021 16:59

@AdventuresAwait I'm so glad it went well, fantastic news! Out of interest, what did the midwife say to look for for waters?

@Kirky658 I feel totally the same, I had a few days of calm after my scan last week and now the anxiety is back in full swing. I'm finding the wait between 12 week and 20 week scans much harder than I thought it would be. Hope the next few weeks fly by!

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 17:00

Thanks @Kirky658.

And yes, I feel like that even though I had a private scan not that long ago. Wish I could have a scan every week! 🤣

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 17:04

@aurora2021, thanks!

She said waters can be clear, pinky or straw coloured but have quite a distinctive smell that is sweet. She described it like a wet digestive biscuit! (And that odourless, watery type is often normal).

aurora2021 · 15/04/2021 17:07

Thanks @AdventuresAwait, that's useful to know! There's just so much to learn about pregnancy!!

Maybebaby29 · 15/04/2021 17:15

@AdventuresAwait I’m glad you went to get checked and everything is ok! I did the same today, been feeling movements since 13 weeks (this is my 3rd) and the last three days I’ve not felt him. I went down and the midwife heard his heartbeat and said he seems fine! I’m just getting a lot of pressure in my lower stomach he’s seeming to lie there more at the minute I’m not sure why.
My bump isn’t very big at all as well which makes me worry too! I’ve got my 20 week scan on the 28th so I’m nervously awaiting that 😣
@Bubbles1st I’m due on the 14th with a boy 💙
Maybe tmi but does anyone sometimes feel like a small gush of discharge? I’m so paranoid it’s my waters!

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 17:26

Thanks @Maybebaby29. Glad you went too and all seems okay xx

My discharge was sometimes a bit of a gush which is why I called the midwife today.

mumof23188 · 15/04/2021 17:27

@AdventuresAwait so glad to hear everything was well with baby 🥰

@Maybebaby29 yes! I have loads of discharge too.

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 17:38

Thank you @mumof23188!

Taybz · 15/04/2021 17:54

Thanks girls for the drinks suggestion, I'll check them out soon in the supermarket.

@AdventuresAwait so glad everything was ok!

Girls, I do wonder when the constant worrying will stop? With my 20wk scan coming up in 2 weeks I'm already getting scanxiety. I can't really feel movements much anymore and I'm starting to wonder if I ever did feel them. My belly feels really tight especially when I drink and a hard to the touch. Not sure if it's supposed to feel this way?

Kirky658 · 15/04/2021 18:00

@taybz not sure if that's normal. But it's the same way for me too with the hard and tightness in the tummy. X

FTEngineerM · 15/04/2021 18:09

Glad the scan went well @AdventuresAwait

@Taybz when they’re kicking you in the ribs every few hours it’s definitely less anxiety inducing, you can drink a cold drink or give them a poke to get them moving too. I felt more relaxed after the 24ish week mark (I think that’s when the survival rates are great for premies).

Saying that, even though the DC is here I feel anxious about other stuff like what he’s going to fall off/put in his mouth/where’s the dog 😂

RadDarwazeh · 15/04/2021 18:21

@Bubbles1st due date 25/09/21 and keeping it a suprise!

I like appletizer and britvic 55. Will have to look at the nonaocohol ciders though. Yum.

AdventuresAwait · 15/04/2021 18:22

@Taybz, thanks! Mine sometimes feels the same, hard to the touch.

Thanks @FTEngineerM xx
