@unicornpower he's always been very shy of people tbh I think because we weren't able to socialise him that much. Just before xmas he met my niece and nephew 10 and 4 and he was good with them. But he's never seen a baby. Saying that he's much better with meeting people out and about now if they stop to pet him he will let them sniff his hand. So it think it's just a case of slowly slowly see how it goes.

Maybebaby29 · 25/03/2021 17:06

I’m at the awkward jeans phase too! I zip them up then put a hair bobble through the button hole, put one side of the bobble through the other then loop it round my jeans button 🤣 it’s give me a few more weeks wear out of them before I have to give it and use leggings and maternity jeans 🙈

CherylLW · 25/03/2021 17:08

@Rach921 it was so lovely ❤️

I’m the same where is comes to nothing fitting!! I’ve bought some maternity jeans and maternity leggings and they are so comfy!! They are over the bump ones and a bit baggy on the bump bit but I’ll soon grow into that!

I also have the palest legs! I need to get some secret sun time in before anyone has to see those 😂

bewitchingnight · 25/03/2021 17:22

Yes @Rach921 same! No bump but everything uncomfortable. I caved and bought maternity jeans, the over the bump part is too big but they are so comfy. I'm looking forward to having a proper bump rather than just looking like I've been eating all lockdown Confused

Rach921 · 25/03/2021 17:23

@Maybebaby29 I need to do the hair bobble trick 😂

@CherylLW maybe I should just cave and buy some maternity jeans 😂 I’m with you on the secret sun time 😂 I picked up some fake tan yesterday but I reckon I’m going to need about 5 layers before it’s safe to expose my legs to the world 😂

FTEngineerM · 25/03/2021 17:25

Thanks @Poppins2016 🥳

@AdventuresAwait what an exciting day I hope the appointment and move goes well!

On the dog front @Kirky658 I have a 57kg rottweiler, he’s old as the hills now but OH MY GOD I was stressed when we brought dc home. Turns out he’s just as soft with him as he is with me. Age defo played a big part because he just wants to lie in a corner whilst DC screams and crawls around causing havoc. No advice lol we are just and still are winging it😂.

Glad you got to listen @CherylLW must be so lush.

I get itchy when my skin stretches @unicornpower I just keep slathering on the oil 😬 sort of works.

bluemagicalsky · 25/03/2021 17:27

Thanks for the new thread @Poppins2016
I'm with you @Rach921 I really hadn't considered the phase where I don't have a proper bump, so just feel a bit out of shape. All for a good cause I know, but hard at times. I'm looking forward to floaty dresses too. Haha my bras haven't fit for ages, I gave up with them and got some sports bras from Tescos. Need to bite the bullet and order some maternity stuff soon
@CherylLW That's great and has given me some hope! I'm also in the south. 2 weeks until my 16 wk appt

CherylLW · 25/03/2021 17:32

@bluemagicalsky hopefully yours will be the same, I wish everyone could hear theirs! I bet private scans have gone through the roof with appointments this year!!

Squibble84 · 25/03/2021 18:03

Thanks for the new thread @Poppins2016!

Squibble84 · 25/03/2021 18:35

Sale on maternity clothes in Peacocks at the moment. I got loads of bits from here last time and it’s good stuff!

RadDarwazeh · 25/03/2021 18:43

Hi all. Just marking my place so I don't lose the chat girls Smile

@Rach921 yep. Nothing fits. Living in maxi floats dresses, cardigans, wireless bras

leftitlate37 · 25/03/2021 19:50

thanks @Poppins2016!
GLad your appt went well @CherylLW! Just had mine late arvo, got to hear the HB, all pounding away...140!
had last min flap to get there on time, having spent most of my recent life in working fromhome clothes, I thought i better dress up for the occasion ;) couldnt get first pair of skinny jeans done up haha
Midwife was lovely and should get her the whole way thru :)Turns out the bubbling that i thought was my guts is probabyl the baby!! hadnt realised how low down it is at the mo!! suddenly feels so much more real!
Re needing more clothes, I ordered a maternty clothing bundle off ebay for 30 quid, and arrived today, laods of tops, including some unworn, a jumper, 2 pairs of short trousers, some pajamas! Not sure itll all be good but for 30 quid reckon itll be worth it. the trousers look huge, its gonna be a shock when i probably will fill them!!!
im worried about how our dogs will adjust to a baby - did anyone see Channel 5 dogs behaving badly? One dog proper self harmed and was spinning every time parents showed new baby attention, was so sad. the dog trainer sorted it out easily but the parents were so worried theyd have to give the dog up.

CherylLW · 25/03/2021 19:56

Glad yours went ok too @leftitlate37! I just threw on leggings, top and hoodie to avoid the stress. The HB for mine was 160!! I couldn’t believe how fast it sounded!

Poppins2016 · 25/03/2021 20:00

@leftitlate37 I've been scouring FB marketplace and have picked up some lovely things on there... some Jojomamanbebe and Seraphine dresses that have been barely worn for an average of £5 each!

OP posts:
leftitlate37 · 25/03/2021 20:39

ooo thats a great shout @Poppins2016! bargain for that stuff at 5 quid! i'll have to have a look :)
Yeah agree @CherylLW was nuts how fast it sounded! WHat times your scan on Sat? cant wait to find out now!!

CherylLW · 25/03/2021 20:54

@leftitlate37 it’s at 1500 on Saturday, I’m going straight from work... I don’t think I’ll get much work done that day! I really want to find out and I definitely will but there is a tiny part of me that wants the surprise x

la1921 · 25/03/2021 20:58

@Poppins2016 my DS was born on 6th October too! My due date was 30th September for him, was induced a few days later as they thought his growth had slowed down but he was 8lb 11oz in the end!

AdventuresAwait · 25/03/2021 21:09

Thank you @FTEngineerM!

SP2Bx · 25/03/2021 21:53

Thanks @Poppins2016 - WOW I had a lot to catch up on today!

@Kirky658 I have an 8 month old 7kg puppy too :) she is WILD so I'm really hoping she calms down by Sept, she actually came into her first season today so I'm wondering whether to get her spayed now before baby arrives to see if that does it... otherwise she's super friendly and affectionate, great with small people and generally gentle just VERY excitable. I think she'll be fine but she doesn't like squealing/screaming/crying children! Just doesn't know what to make of them really, not a bad thing, might mean she keeps her distance. Time will tell!!!

RaeRae84 · 26/03/2021 08:14

@Rach921 I feel exactly the same. I saw more weight on one of my letters as well as I said I wouldn't get on the scales and now I feel even worse 🙈 I know it's because I have let myself eat whatever as I'm normally really strict. Every morning I have a stress of what can I wear to work that's not going to be painful by the end of the day! I ordered some maternity clothes yesterday (got some m.jeans from Asda for £3 each!!) Just thought it would take a stress away. Just wish it was a bump rather than rolls 😂

Rach921 · 26/03/2021 08:23

@RaeRae84 I’ve been the same with eating what I want 🙈 I’m normally very good and track/weigh good and have a good workout programme alongside it but that all went out the window when I found out I was pregnant! Now I’m feeling better I’m going to start exercising and eating better but I fear it’s too little too late 😂 ooh I’ll have a look at asda!

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 08:28

@sp2bx awww! What breed is yours? Ours is a pomeranian x miniature schnauzer. He's absolutely gorgeous, but so lively and always wanting to play but usually settles after a walk! I think covid has been so difficult for pups to socialise with a range of people. We'd always wanted to get a dog as soon as we bought a house so we got him 2 months after we moved.

I haven't bought any maternity clothes or anything for the baby yet. I think I'm nervous to in case the 20 week scan shows anything bad. I'm in that awkward phase now where my symptoms have all but disappeared, aside from running still being so much harder than before pregnancy, and a bit of tiredness and stretching in my belly. Hoping that my midwife check next Thursday at 16+1 will make me feel more relieved tbh.

mumof23188 · 26/03/2021 08:41

Morning everyone!

@AdventuresAwait hope everything goes well with midwife and house move. What a day for you 😍

My next midwife appointment isn’t until I’m 18 weeks 😱 on the 9th April.

On the doggy front we have two! One who is as soppy as they come and the other who is not into affection unless he asks for it! The girl is a delight and adores my DS but the boy is not so great so I tend to keep them separate. He’s growled at my DS a couple of times!! Don’t think my DS likes him much because he avoids him 🤣 I don’t blame him either!

leftitlate37 · 26/03/2021 08:50

Ah that sounds familiar @mumof23188! We have 2, one is just needing to be stroked, patted, tickled and picked up ALL the time and the other gives the best cuddles on her terms. Bit worried about how needy the first one is, pretty sure she will LOVE a new human but think will have to be careful she just doesn't shower baby in licks and paws at it like she does with us!
@Kirky658 glad running still going ok! I'm still finding slow and puffy but managed 10 miles on Sunday and was well happy, wiped me out after mind!
Midwife said to me yesterday I should defo be getting the glow soon haha and finding just feel gr8....heres hoping!!
I'm just really itchy, and have a rash on my ribs, and my legs sometimes feel really hot like they r sunburned. She said was all fine unless they actually go red in which case do something! Joys or hormones clearly....!
Good luck those of you with appt today :)

Kirky658 · 26/03/2021 09:05

@leftitlate37 omg 10 miles you're incredible! I wouldn't have the energy. Most I did was 10k at 8 min miles before pregnancy. Now I'm about 10 min miles for 6k nowadays, about 15 miles a week does me with lots of dog walks in between!
