@rtz22 woo scan buddies! 😂 I'll be 20+2 for mine, think I might be the latest due date on this thread at 30th October?!

I'm really looking forward to finding out the sex personally, I think it will help us to visualise our future as a 3 a bit more I guess? But my brother and his wife had 2 surprises and loved finding out at the birth! I'm just too impatient to wait 🙈 I'll be 16w next week and won't lie, I've been tempted to have a private scan, but they're so expensive that I know I really should just wait another 4 weeks instead.

Totally with you about work, I'm starting to worry about stress affecting the baby Sad I really don't feel like I can keep up this pace until October!

I know it's early days yet, but has anybody had any thoughts on when they'll finish work before baby arrives?

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 16:42

@mooloop ooo we are close - 28th October! My scan is dead on 20 on the 10th of June. We are doing a private scan to find out the gender soon 🙈. Ours is £50 which is reasonable - our sonographer at the hospital said for gender they are completely reliable just not medical advice so that is fine by us!

I am excited because it breaks up the waiting. Don't know what I am going to do when I have no more scans after the 20 weeks 😂

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 16:42

Oh and to add, really not sure about work. Will depend on the 28week rule

mooloop · 09/05/2021 16:50

Oo yay another late October baby @Juicytoot287! I feel so far behind most people on here 😂

Ah for £50 I would go for it too! They're £85 here which just feels like a lot. The wait from the 12w scan (mine was actually dated at 11+2) to the 20w one feels like an age.

I hadn't thought about the 28w advice, good point. I could do my job from home if needs be. I've got quite a lot of annual leave to use up so if I feel well enough (and baby doesn't turn up early), I'm hoping to finish mid-October and use 2 weeks annual leave to get to my due date, then start mat leave from then. I'd then hopefully be able to carry a fortnight of annual leave over to next year to tack onto the end of my mat leave before I return, which my boss said she was happy with. In reality I know this might all change as I have no idea how i'll feel when I'm 37/38w and massive Grin

Rmka · 09/05/2021 16:53

@mooloop, regarding work I'm thinking of starting my maternity leave 4 weeks before due date. I work from home but would like that time to prepare and rest before the baby comes. I also already feel tired :) How about you?

Has anyone received their maternity exemption form? I had to get a prescription the other day and the pharmacist was surprised I didn't have one yet. My hospital issues it after the 20 week scan, but the pharmacist told me I could get it from GP earlier. I'll try to sort it out, but with covid it's hard as I can't just walk in and ask.

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 17:05

I don't get annual leave as a teacher obviously so I may be forced to take my maternity early as, not sure I will cope waddling around. Really will depend on the guidance by then after the summer holidays.

I have my NHS exemption, midwife issued it after booking appointment. Not my MATB1 form though @rmka

mooloop · 09/05/2021 17:32

@Rmka I have an office job so want to work as long as I can, hoping to work until 38w and use annual leave from then if I can manage it.

I haven't had my exemption form either. Seeing the midwife on Thursday so I'll add that to my list of things to ask!

Cpr12 · 09/05/2021 17:58

@rtz22 I was in hospital from bleeding on Friday too. Glad all is ok with you! Like you my work is full on and can’t help but think that I may have overdone it last week. I am going to speak to my boss on Monday as I need to take it easy. Work very much comes second!

I am going to work as close to due date as I can as lucky enough to work from home. But I have never been heavily pregnant before so may change my mind 😂 I have my niece moving in over summer so think having her will help me as she will take over cooking and cleaning for the most part which I am sure will help when I am heavily pregnant! Exciting to think about all the plans though, Almost half way 🤗

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 18:25

Sorry to have a moan ladies - Anyone else feel fine for so long and then just a wave of awful for most of a day. Got awful mix of headaches and feeling so bloated I can barely move 🙈😂 Haven't felt this sorry for myself since the first trimester.

Anyone else still have some rough days? I am 15+4 today

mooloop · 09/05/2021 18:56

Totally @Juicytoot287! My sickness has improved massively, so I'm glad of any improvement, but I was sick Thursday morning 👎🏻 I'm 15+1 today. I've been getting a lot of heartburn and headaches too, and I'm still shattered all the time!

Cpr12 · 09/05/2021 19:00

@juicytoot287 yes! I wake up every morning feeling hungover. Super thirsty, banging sore head and exhausted. For the bloat I find just eating a small amount at a time and lots of water help.

@mooloop I was sick quite a few times last week at 16 weeks. Don’t know where it comes from!

shivawn · 09/05/2021 19:18

Im just over 18 weeks now! Feeling great. Haven't felt any movement or flutters yet. Bump is growing and none of my jeans fit anymore so I've ordered a few cheap maternity bits from Shein and Ebay although I probably won't fit them for a while yet.

Have been signed out of work on paid leave which was unexpected and a bit unwanted but am trying to stay active with my time off, getting jobs done around the house and going for long walks.

Melody27 · 09/05/2021 20:37

Glad I’m not the only one with really bad headaches, like the worst hangover ever!!

So exciting about everyone’s scans. We’re not finding out gender so just ticking along waiting for our 20 week scan. 16 week appointment tomorrow!! X

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 20:59

Has anyone heard of no mcflurries? I just got one to be a bit cheeky but then had an immediate panic. Mcdonalds says its pasteurised milk etc. but then some people on old threads said they had to stay away on midwife advice- mine hasn't said anything about it.

Jelliestogether · 09/05/2021 22:08

@mooloop we have the same due date! 20w scan on the 14th June too!!

Definitely starting to feel more human again but still have days where I feel horrendous!

@Cpr12 hope everything is OK after your bleed and hospital trip!!

mooloop · 09/05/2021 22:12

@Jelliestogether yay!! Wonder if we'll have little Halloween pumpkins 🎃 😂

@Juicytoot287 ooh I haven't heard that...now I really want one though!

Missreginafalange · 09/05/2021 22:19

@Rmka i got my exemption form last week at my midwife appt at 17 weeks, matb1 after 20 week scan.

Have started to get the bubbles in the belly and a little bit of movements, I didn't get it early last time as placenta was interior.

MrsD20 · 09/05/2021 22:34

@Juicytoot287 Hey!
My craving in my last pregnancy was McFlurries and people told me all the time I shouldn't eat them or drink the milkshakes but when I looked into it, it's mainly the sanitation of the machines that the experts say is the most concerning rather than the milk etc. Your supposed to steer clear of 99's too but I really can't see the issue 🙈

This pregnancy ( due 7th Oct) I'm craving the hell out of Haribo sour cherries! Why can't we crave lettuce or something 🤣 x

Juicytoot287 · 10/05/2021 07:22

Ok thanks everyone! Will stay clear to be safe but doesn't seem like I need a meltdown for having a few spoonfuls before knowing.
There is just too many things to watch for now!

On top of feeling generally rough yday I have woke up feeling so sick! though we were through with this 🙈

Jl2020 · 10/05/2021 09:18

I think I'm going to try to work pretty much until I give birth but I work from home anyway and I only plan on taking 6 weeks off after having baby and then be back to working from home even if it's part time but that could all change depending how I feel but I just realistically can't afford to live on smp. Fortunately I'm not suffering with any headaches or tiredness or anything I feel like iv been very lucky this whole pregnancy so far though with only 2 days of nausea iv really not had any other symptoms. Hopefully the birth will go just as smoothly 🤣

Where I am I can get an early gender scan from now which is 14 weeks but I think I'm going to book one for when I'm about 17 weeks, I'm mostly doing it so that my mum can come aswell as she can't come to any nhs scans and she really wants to come to one lol. Lots of good deals on groupon for early gender scans if you just search ultrasound and put your area in! Xx

I hope to work right up to waters breaking. Work from home so shouldn’t be a problem.
I have thought about taking some annual leave in the lead up to it but knowing my luck I’ll take a week off and not have the baby and have to go back or start maternity leave early.
I really want to get the most out of maternity leave as I may only be able to afford 6 months off
I got my exemption slip at my first booking appointment with midwife.

@Juicytoot287 definitely not alone in the exhaustion and headaches. I'm 18+4 and have felt great for the last few weeks, but this weekend I couldnt get off the couch!

Jelliestogether · 10/05/2021 15:44

I plan to work up to 38w depending on covid (icu nurse) and probably take 2w annual leave with maternity leave starting at 40w

mooloop · 10/05/2021 16:31

Wow hats off to you doing that job at the moment and pregnant @Jelliestogether!
