Hey everyone! Congratulations on the scans 🥰 I can't wait for mine, 14th June seems like a lifetime away though.

I'm another absolutely knackered one @pixiedust21! Not quite as bad as the early first trimester but jeez I'm hoping this magical energy boost really does hit soon. On the upside, the sickness has calmed down loads and I've only been sick once so far this week (fingers crossed I don't jinx myself on that!)

Anybody settled on any names yet? DH and I have discussed loads but nothing agreed yet. Are you all waiting til the 20 week scans to buy things too?

Cpr12 · 07/05/2021 17:53

@jl2020 thanks, just taking it day by day now until 24 weeks ☺️

@mooloop we have bought a fair few things. Even bought a pram the other day! Although it is up with my sister. And names, no clue. We have been focussing on boy names just in case and I hate them all haha! The only ones I like are now pretty common. Fun looking through them all though. Are you and your partner agreeing on things you like?

@pixiedust21 yup tired over here too. I do only a small amount and feel knackered but I just listen to my body and rest up when I need to. Spent this afternoon in bed haha! Sharing my pregnancy pillow with two mutts who are “looking after” me 😂

mooloop · 07/05/2021 17:57

@Cpr12 oooh how exciting, can't wait to buy the pram!

There's lots of girl names we both like, but for boys we're a bit stumped. Which I'm sure means this little bean will be a boy! Haha Grin

Hope you're feeling ok after your bleed. Good idea to let the doggos look after you Smile

Juicytoot287 · 07/05/2021 18:07

Hello everyone again!
20 weeks scan is the 10th of june, but we are far too impatient. Booked a private scan for £50 on the 15th May and will do a reveal on the 22nd - may be cringey but I am just loving and embracing everything at the moment.

This is my first but my sonographer said because i am small with a high placenta I may be able to feel movement sooner so I am always trying to focus on it. Again had bubbles but not sure if it just normal movement in my tummy or if I am feeling anything and they cant consistent so I don't want to focus too much and get too upset if they go away for a bit 🙈😂

I am definitely showing now, bloat or not in addition! Becoming hard to hide from students lol.

At the 16 week scan did you get to hear heart beat, what happens?

Cpr12 · 07/05/2021 18:20

@mooloop we haven’t seen it, my sister found it on Facebook for £100 from someone she knows so we just went for it! I am the same, I bet it is a boy just so I have no names haha! Just nervous after bleed so long as no changes by Sunday night I will hopefully stop feeling so worried again. I think just the midwife worrying made me do the same, wish she had just said don’t worry it’s normal, but she was just looking out for me.

@juicytoot287 hard to know with the movement, I don’t know what I am looking for. But when they listened in to the heartbeat today I am sure I felt a slight twinge when the sound went funny and she said it just kicked. So less flutter or bubbles and more a twinge if that makes sense, but that may have been nothing too 😂 At 16 weeks they give test results and listen in to heartbeat here. Last time round I was also given dates for almost all my other appointments and antenatal classes but I didn’t get that today. Just my next appointment. Not sure if they just don’t give you all the dates until later now.

Jl2020 · 07/05/2021 19:23

I don't have my 20 week scan date yet but iv booked a private scan for the 30th May as I'm too impatient to wait and considering I didn't want to find out the gender I'm now desperate to know 😂 I have my 16 week appointment on booked but wasn't really sure what it's for but nice to know you get to hear the heartbeat then!
Me and my partner haven't agreed on any names yet, I feel like it's impossible to even find anything I like. Think we are going to wait until we know the gender atleast then we only need to think of either a boy or girls name and not keep going through both lol x

pixiedust21 · 07/05/2021 19:54

We haven't really bought anything yet and think we will wait til after the 20 week scan but one benefit of my husband coming from a big family and us having babies later than them, is that we are getting a lot of items as freebies or hand me downs! Every little helps :)

We have a girls name that we have had picked for quite a while and has a special meaning for us - so obviously it's going to be a boy as I literally cannot settle on a single one I like enough Grin

Juicytoot287 · 08/05/2021 08:21

That is good to hear about the 16 week appointment, don't know how you could wait til 20 weeks to be fair!
We have bought one little outfit from Next because I was determined to be the first to buy our baby anything, and family are getting excited. We will wait now though until we know the gender or even the scan.

Oh my goodness, same with names as most of you. Decided to discuss when we know gender so it is at least half the number to look through as well.

Really starting to get pains in my tummy and thighs now - assuming and been told it will be growth pains 😫 Although exciting to know its our bodies being incredibly and the impending baby bump

Jl2020 · 08/05/2021 21:29

This is so random and not something iv experienced until today but is itchy nipples a thing in pregnancy?? and if so what can I do to stop it 🤣 been driving me insane lol x

Juicytoot287 · 08/05/2021 21:51

@Jl2020 hahaha I had this too around 12 weeks though. When I checked it said a sent free moisturiser so I used some dove and they seem to be better now?

Jl2020 · 08/05/2021 22:01

@Juicytoot287 I'm 14 weeks and it's just started, hopefully it doesn't last long! Currently looking through my drawers for some scent free moisturiser lol. Pregnant life is so glam 🤣

MeltingSnowflake · 08/05/2021 22:04

Just checking in - I've haven't been on MN in a while. It's so lovely to hear about everyone's scans! And also very reassuring that you're all still getting tired too. I'm not as bad as first trimester, but the tiredness just seems to come from nowhere, even now!

We had our harmony & 12 week scan and all looks good - and we found out it's a little girl Star and we're so happy.

I had a glass of wine tonight for the first time since before we were TTC and now I feel a bit guilty! Anyone else had a glass?! Agh

So glad you're all doing well - how exciting! Xx

Kona84 · 08/05/2021 23:39

@MeltingSnowflake
I haven’t had any alcohol since Christmas and don’t intend to.
I wouldn’t want to risk anything

@Jl2020, I can't wait to feel the movements and be sure Smile
@MeltingSnowflake, I haven't had any alcohol, I also think it's too risky.

mooloop · 09/05/2021 07:43

@MeltingSnowflake welcome back and congrats on your little girl! So exciting Smile

I haven't had any alcohol since January personally, I decided not to drink during the TWW and won't be drinking throughout pregnancy just in case. Tbh I miss being able to drink higher levels of caffeine more than I'm missing alcohol so far 😂

Juicytoot287 · 09/05/2021 08:05

@MeltingSnowflake Congrats on the Baby Girl news!

I know you have come for some reassurance on this. Unfortunately, like the rest I am sticking to it to a T. However back in the day they did say a glass of red was ok once a week so I know you won't be alone in this! It is done now, so don't beat yourself up and I am sure baby is fine, just mayve avoid it now advice has changed again xxxx

Jl2020 · 09/05/2021 09:04

@MeltingSnowflake congrats on finding out you are having a baby girl 💗 I also haven't had a drink and I don't intend to but then I'm not a massive drinker anyway and really like alcohol so it's been easy for me to not have any lol. I would worry too much though I'm sure one glass is fine! X

milkyway91 · 09/05/2021 09:05

Itchy nipps are definitely a thing. I'm just glad that I can tell my husband that I'm not the only one. Haha.

I'm currently addicted to sour skittles! Anyone else got any cravings?

milkyway91 · 09/05/2021 09:06

@MeltingSnowflake congrats on your baby girl! 🎉

mooloop · 09/05/2021 09:20

@milkyway91 I'm obsessed with hash browns, so random 😂

milkyway91 · 09/05/2021 09:39

@mooloop I've always been obsessed with hash browns so no change there! 😂

lilomum · 09/05/2021 09:58

Congratulations on a baby girl 💕💖 @Jl2020 how lovely. I've been so excited since I've found out, I had a little shopping spree in TK Maxx already 😂 oh I just love little girl clothes.

Jl2020 · 09/05/2021 10:26

@milkyway91 my nipples are so sore today from itching them 😂 no cravings for me, haven't had any the whole way through yet! Guess it's not a bad thing though lol xx

@mooloop my anomaly scan is also June 14th! I'll be 23 weeks by then.. and no scans here since the 12week which is a very long wait 🙈 we were debating getting a private scan before but think we will wait.

Very torn in terms of finding out gender! Did a NIPT and decided against finding out the gender then .. don't know if I regret it now 🤣.

I'm also one for the sudden tiredness and afternoons in bed on weekends... actually ended up in a and e on Friday due to a blood clot scare but all fine thankfully. My midwife was playing it safe and sent me due to family history.

Don't know about you ladies but I find it hard to keep up the pace with working. I'm used to working long days to constant deadlines and high demand clients but I really must start to gently put the foot down with work. I find it all a bit overwhelming sometimes!
