@Jl2020 seriously the bloods aren't that bad, just make sure you drink plenty of fluids before hand. It'll be over and done with in seconds! You'll walk out wondering why you even worried! 😁 x

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 16:33

@MyGrassIsBrowner I did actually have to have a blood test done last year when I had my miscarriage and I just didn't even look at the needle and it really wasn't that bad so don't know why I feel so anxious about having another one, think it's just the thought of it😂 xx

Cpr12 · 02/04/2021 16:46

You just have to forget the blood tests are happening, ask to be distracted!

@melody27 I had 6 taken too, dont remember that much last time. Hopefully only one at the 12 week scan 🤞

@jl2020 I am massively showing and it is literally just a massive baby bump. I have been showing since 10 weeks but today at almost 12 I am honestly huge haha!

@bertieboo88 I was 15 weeks last time when the nausea went. I am prepared for my entire pregnancy to be a slog, but it will be worth it!!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/04/2021 16:46

@Jl2020 I didn't have my first blood test until I got pregnant and I was totally kacking it! I've had that many now it doesn't even phase me anymore, though I can't stay I'm looking forward to having two lots taken within the space of two hours at this bloody glucose test I have to go for 🙄 I do feel for the poor sods who dont have prominent veins though as that's when it can get tricky and uncomfortable. My sister has to have it taken between her knuckles as they can never get any from her arm 🥵

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 16:55

@Cpr12 maybe some people do just show earlier then! I do remember my sister in law definitely couldn't hide her bump past 12 weeks but that was with her second baby with her first she didn't look pregnant the whole way through! Haha I'm sure mine is just food consumption where I haven't had the nausea or sickness iv just been eating so much because I feel so Hungry all the time! X

@MyGrassIsBrowner having to have two lots done in 2 hours doesn't sound nice at all but I'm sure you will be fine now your a pro at having them done 😁 I just hope they don't have to take loads from me on Sunday because I feel like I need my blood 😂 oh that sounds awful for your sister having it taken from between her knuckles!! Must be even more sore and sensitive there! X

Cpr12 · 02/04/2021 17:00

@mygrassisbrowner blood from knuckles, that is brutal! I will never complain about having blood taken again!!!

@jl2020 my best mate is the exact same just eats when pregnant. Whereas I cant eat as much as I used to. All my meals are half the size or I am sick. Sounds really random, but my stomach must shrink when I am pregnant 😂

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 17:11

@Cpr12 when I was pregnant last time I was exactly the same I constantly felt sick or was being sick and I would have two mouthfuls of a meal and feel so full! This time I eat all my meal and then 10 minutes later I feel like I haven't even eaten anything it's a real struggle 😂 x

pixiedust21 · 02/04/2021 17:18

I have my scan tomorrow - can't believe it's finally here, so nervous but looking forward to it too.

Still really struggling with food and feeling sickly (not being sick just don't want anything, but if I don't eat I feel sick) and exhausted too.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/04/2021 17:22

@Jl2020 @Cpr12 I know right.. bloods from between the knuckles is a thing of nightmares. I'm sure we'll all be fine though ladies! 💪
I'm 12+6 now and my nausea is up and down at the minute.. I love my food normally and I dont think I even have a full meal during the day. DH keeps going mad at me cause he worries like mad that I'm not looking after myself but I just say fine, you clean my vomit up then! 😆

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/04/2021 17:23

@pixiedust21 eeeek exciting stuff!! Let us know how it goes! 🥰

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 17:26

@pixiedust21 good luck for tomorrow 😍 I'm with you on feeling exhausted, especially when it's gets to about 3pm I feel so tired and been falling asleep so early in the evenings but then I wake up all through the night which is very annoying! X

pixiedust21 · 02/04/2021 18:04

@MyGrassIsBrowner @Jl2020 thank you!!

Yeah I'm not sleeping well at night either, keep waking up or waking up super early, then shattered all day and I could just go to bed now 😂 it's so annoying, I've forgotten what it feels like to have any energy!

Juicytoot287 · 02/04/2021 19:34

So exciting seeing everyone's scans!
Thank you @MyGrassIsBrowner I think I will call up and not knowing is making me feel worse!

@Jl2020 and @MeltingSnowflake so exciting to find people on the exact same timescale! I am 4 weeks behind my close friend so I feel out of touch at the moment! Glad you got your bloods finally, hopefully your scan date appears quicker than mine!

On a plus note, most symptoms are subsiding now and I can actually stomach some evening dinner which has been a struggle. Strange as it sounds, the symptoms becoming easier feels both amazing but worrying! Scan can't come quick enough

Hope you ladies find a way to sleep better soon! (We are investing in an air con unit this weekend to prepare for a likely bad summer being pregnant in heatwaves!)

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/04/2021 20:04

@Juicytoot287 try not to worry yourself too much by lack of symptoms or decreasing symptoms. With my first pregnancy I had absolutely no symptoms up until 14 weeks.. no sickness, breast tenderness, nada! I see it as a huge plus when the symptoms do one lol! Obviously if you are really anxious then dont hesitate to give your MW a call! X

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 20:14

@pixiedust21 my sleeping pattern sounds exactly the same as yours, waking up all night and then also up at the crack of dawn! hopefully the second trimester will bring better nights sleep.. doubt it though because as we grow it will probably get worse, Atleast it prepares us for life with a newborn I guess 😂

@Juicytoot287 it's definitely nice to have people to speak to on the same timescale! I haven't told any friends yet so it's nice to have everyone here to speak to. Glad your symptoms are starting to ease a little, I think it is around now they can start to ease due to the placenta forming? I could be wrong though! Iv been worried my symptoms haven't been bad from the start other than sore boobs and now the tiredness I don't have any symptoms but I did mention it to the midwife today and she said if they haven't been bad the whole way through then I'm most likely just lucky!

Being pregnant in the summer is probably going to be awful isn't it 😂

pixiedust21 · 02/04/2021 20:51

Nobody even talk to me yet about being pregnant over summer 😂 it was warm here the other day and I was like 🥵🥵🥵... and that was March!!!

Not going to do much moving this summer, and will probably invest in a fan and bucket loads of ice (maybe to sit in, who knows!)

Jl2020 · 02/04/2021 21:11

@pixiedust21 oh I know! was 22 degrees where I am the other day and that was enough, can only imagine how much worse it will be when I'm heavier and carrying a big bump 😂

A fan and bucket of ice sounds like a great idea will definitely need it and ice pops too! 😂 think sunbathing and getting a nice tan will be off the cards this year lol x

Juicytoot287 · 03/04/2021 07:05

Honestly, the air con unit saved us last year And I wasnt even pregnant haha. Want a slimmer model this year so well worth the £200 for me! Cannot stand being too hot 🙈😂

Will definitely be good for the baby next summer too, our whole street borrowed ours this year to cool their rooms down for their children lol

pixiedust21 · 03/04/2021 15:44

On such a high after our scan!! No idea what to expect but what a lovely appointment. The staff were so so nice.

Turns out my dates were rather off Grin so only 10 weeks rather than 12!! So going back in 3 weeks for "proper" dating scan and screening.

But we got a good look at our baby and heard the heartbeat - absolutely amazing feeling. ❤️ So happy right now.

October 2021 - part 2
Cpr12 · 03/04/2021 15:50

@pixiedust21 yay, congrats! So glad all went well! So when is the new due date?

mooloop · 03/04/2021 16:04

Awww congratulations @pixiedust21! Our private scan dated me about a week earlier than LMP dates (I ovulated CD20 at the earliest so that does fit my dates better I think), and I was a bit worried about only being 11w at my scan (scheduled for when the midwife has me down as exactly 12w), but that's made me feel better that you've been invited back for a second one Smile

pixiedust21 · 03/04/2021 16:08

@Cpr12 they think 31st October (so only just able to still be a member of this group 😂) but should get a more accurate idea when I get my next scan.

@mooloop yeah the sonographer said it's pretty common to get the dates wrong as it depends so much on cycle length etc so it can vary a lot. If they can't do the screenings/measurements they need if it's too early then yes they should ask you back. I'm quite excited as it means seeing baby again!! And should see quite a difference in development.

Ahh was just an amazing feeling x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/04/2021 17:27

@pixiedust21 Look at that little bean! 🥰 So pleased you had a positive experience and everything looked good!! X

mooloop · 03/04/2021 17:47

Awww a little Halloween 🎃 baby @pixiedust21!

Cpr12 · 03/04/2021 18:07

@pixiedust21 the perfect due date 🖤
