I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

@lucea87 I have too...Google is definitely not your friend at a time like this. I think if early scans give you peace of mind, you should go for it.

Our conception was via a clinic (same sex couple) so I can be certain of conception date etc, which is nice. They include an 8 week scan as part of the package before you're discharged to the usual NHS care, which I'm really glad of.

Hope all goes well at your scan! I know I'll be a nervous wreck until I hear the heart thumping away.

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 03/04/2021 18:58

7 weeks by last period (although I think actually only 5+1ish) and my maternity exemption certificate arrived in the post this morning! Which was lovely but a real surprise.

I didn't get it this early with my first and I didn't get one at all with my last pregnancy which ended in MC at almost 12 weeks.

Almost feels like it's making things more 'real' and I'm still so apprehensive about getting my hopes up too high this early on. Totally illogical but don't want anything to jinx it!

Sparkles512 · 03/04/2021 20:51

Hi can I join please?

We got our BFP yesterday, I think I'm 4 weeks 😃

Our first baby and we are super excited already trying to calm!

My husband wants to tell everyone immediately and I've told him we have to wait but he's so impatient haha.

When are people telling parents and work?

I'm thinking we could tell parents around 8 weeks and also work due it being a physical role but I'm not sure if this is too early? Or if we can keep it a secret that long?

wannabemum38 · 03/04/2021 21:46

@Sparkles512 congratulations
Im.holding off til i have my scan at 8 weeks but its very hard as have no one to talk to about it and the situation I am in its going to be a big shock to everyone.

Curlyhaired · 03/04/2021 22:07

Hi. I’ve just joined. I got a bfp today. Due on the 6th Dec. Very close to my to my birthday. I’m 38 and feel a bit apprehensive about getting too excited but hard not to. W have a 6-nearly 7 year ok so first time was a while ago for me! Positive vibes to you all.

wannabemum38 · 03/04/2021 22:22

@Curlyhaired congratulations. I'm 40 will be 41 by time I'm.due on 5th December god willing
Im trying to not Google all the things I want and need to do until 12 weeks so anxious but trying not to get to stressed it's so hard isn't it x

Sparkles512 · 04/04/2021 06:59

@Curlyhaired congratulations!

I'm due around the 10th December only a few days after my birthday as well.

My husband keeps saying he'll never have any money now haha.

flowersatthecastle · 04/04/2021 07:05

Chocolate and ginger tea for breakfast this morning Confused

BrodieKD · 04/04/2021 07:29

Good morning ladies. I got my bfp on good Friday at 9dpo and my clearblue digital 'pregnant' this morning. My app says my due date is 15th December. It's all quite surreal. I think we will tell the parents in a couple of weeks and everyone else after 12 week scan. I wish I could scream it from the rooftops though.

Is anyone booking an early scan? How is everyone feeling?

BrodieKD · 04/04/2021 07:33

Sorry - Just realised a few people are having early scans below - I think I am tempted to book one but I am not sure for when

flowersatthecastle · 04/04/2021 07:34

@BrodieKD it depends how patient you can be Smile you can go from six weeks but they might have to do an internal to be able to see what they need to. Better to wait for eight weeks onwards if you can!

Congratulations Smile

Curlyhaired · 04/04/2021 08:41

@wannabemum38 thank you and congratulations to you too! Do you have any other children or is this your first? Yes I’m not going to look up risks etc as I’m a worrier anyway so I will steer clear for now.

TreeRoad · 04/04/2021 10:17

How're everyone symptoms going? The nausea is coming in waves for me, but I haven't been sick yet, which is great.

Lots of little cramping/tugging feelings at the bottom of my stomach area too.

The bloat is the worst though! I look like I've put on 10lbs in a week! Shock

Can definitely relate to to bloating! Haven't felt sick at all tho thankfully 😊 Just seem to be thirsty and tired more at night Boobs are very sensitive too ! Xx
wannabemum38 · 04/04/2021 11:43

@Curlyhaired yes my first although 2nd pregnancy lost one at 9 weeks but 20 years ago. I didn't think I could conceive naturally me and my ex tried for a long time broke up for final.time this year then we met up recently as my nan passed away and boom here we are! Is it your first?

@TreeRoad yes funny little cramps low down not painful and not like period cramps. And yes to bloating too urgh

Horehound · 04/04/2021 12:42

I don't have much symptoms at all. Sore nipples. Quite tired but that's it really

We took ds to my parents yesterday and my mum offer us a drink. And I just looked at my husband and smiled as if to say "on you go, tell them" so I just said "I'd like a wine....but I can't!"
My mum cottoned on straight away but my dad just thought I was the driver haha!
Anyway they are delighted and weren't expecting it. Mum said she thought we had just decided to leave it until our son was a bit older.

angel0071987 · 04/04/2021 14:55

It dreading telling my parents as they think we should have stopped at two and kept saying why were we keeping everything still as we were "done" and couldn't possibly have any more as that would be stupid living in a three bed house etc etc. Plus we lost three between the two boys including a late loss where I had to give birth to her so they know what can go wrong. Plus my body hates being pregnant and my hips give out about 16weeks and I end up on crutches. But we felt our family wasn't complete yet and we wanted one more shot at a girl (knowing my luck well have three boys 😂😬)

Sorry to hear of your losses. I agree I bet you ah e another boy lol but I'll keep my fingers crossed for a girl for you.

I guess wrt your parents just say "it just feels right for us as a family". They can't argue with that

Horehound · 04/04/2021 15:17

That's my PIL that know now too..

jodielouise26 · 04/04/2021 19:02

Evening Ladies ☺️

Happy Easter to you all 🐣

Hope it's okay for me to join here...

Huge congratulations to those with BFPs!

I just got my bfp on April fools day 🤦🏻‍♀️ estimating my due date around 14th December.
Havent told the OH yet because it's his birthday on 11th so that's his little surprise ❤️

N85H3R · 04/04/2021 19:48

I’m really anxious this time round as I was on a weightloss journey before I got pregnant & now that I am pregnant Im concerned as my bmi is 37 & my age is 37, bit of a double whammy. I just hope for a healthy pregnancy & not to be fat shammed as I was actively loosing weight & still am loosing 1/2Ib a week currently.

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 05/04/2021 10:16

@N85H3R Try not to worry about judgement because of your weight. It will get mentioned in a matter of fact way by the midwife as having a BMI of over 30 will mean a higher dose of folic acid and extra checks later in pregnancy, but there shouldn't be any judgment around it.

I'm in a similar position. BMI was 35ish when I was pregnant towards the end of last year. That pregnancy ended in a MC and then have been working on my weight since Feb. I've made progress but it's still over the 30 marker so am on higher dose folic acid again.

If you're not already taking 5mg folic acid then you can ring your GP and ask for it, you don't have to wait til your booking appointment. I didn't know that last time so didn't start taking the higher dose til 10 weeks but have been proactive this time round.

TreeRoad · 05/04/2021 10:34

Are any of you testing for progress of pregnancy?

I mean with tests like Clearblue digital that will go from 1-2, 2-3, 3+ weeks?

I have just over a week until my private scan and when I tested last week Clearblue said 2-3, which is spot on as I know the conception date.

Is it crazy to want that extra reassurance of seeing it go to 3+? Should I just wait for my scan? Obviously those tests aren't cheap but it'd reassure me to see progress.

Horehound · 05/04/2021 10:43

@TreeRoad I have done exactly this and got my 3+ a fee days ago :) I think it's natural and a good reassuring technique. I have my early scan this Sunday!

lucea87 · 05/04/2021 11:02

@TreeRoad yes, me! I have a couple of cheapies left plus 1 digi and 1 FRER which I'm saving for a rainy day 🤣 been good to see progress though
