I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

I've got my first midwife appt for 4th May!

Think I'm going to book an early scan. Is this anyone else's first pregnancy and are really scared?

This pregnancy was planned and I've always wanted a baby but I'm just so scared now it's actually happened. I can't believe it's real, hope I'm not the only one who feels this way x

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 08:52

@queenatom the link is above if you haven’t joined already! I have called it “group chit chat” so nobody will know what it is and it is private x

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 08:55

@Tabbycat92 so sorry and really didn’t mean to step on your toes. If you’re okay, please join and I’ll make you an admin and perhaps you can help step me through how to do that through email?

I just took someone’s suggestion of renaming the group to “Group Chit Chat” so nobody can tell what it is as that was a concern for a lot of people.

Also didn’t realise there was another FB group for December babies!

Tabbycat92 · 30/03/2021 08:57

@sarby21 don't worry I don't mind 😊 have already joined the group. The name suggestion was me

@Soexciting have you joined? If you have, let me know I can make you an admin and you can help with the question thing! I think the username thing is a great idea as I definitely don’t want ransoms joining. I just thought everyone wanted an FB group so I made one but sorry if I have messed anything up! I just tried my best and made sure it was private!

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 08:57

@Tabbycat92 thank you! That’s great and sorry again. I’ve made you an admin! 😄

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 30/03/2021 09:00

@janxyb prices will vary depending on where you go. Round here, private places are usually around the £60 - £75 mark I think.
Our local hospital also does them (in the ultrasound department rather than the EPU) but they are a little more expensive at about £115.

If I book one I think I'll pay the extra to have it done at the hospital so that if anything is wrong I am in the right place for the support and all the communication is easier to join up.

@annon22 I think you'd be unlikely to see anything, particularly heartbeat, before 6 weeks. I think they generally suggest from at least 7 weeks but 8 weeks seems to be most common. Means that even if your dates are out you should still get a decent scan.

Neom87 · 30/03/2021 09:02

@sarby21 don't worry, it's hard to put across tone on here. Like I said I didn't want to come across as awkward, but it's hard through text. The name change was a good idea - I feel like I can join confident that nobody will know what the group is 😊

WelshLass24 · 30/03/2021 09:03

I love the idea of a fb support group 😍 'December 2021 Support Group' seems too obvious to me though 😕 How about something completely unlinked to pregnancy like 'Ladies Who Lunch'?! Slightly random, but none of our family/ friends will get suspicious if it pops up on their newsfeed that we've joined?

lucea87 · 30/03/2021 09:03

@sarby21 I've tried to join a couple of times but I missed a question the first time 🤦🏼‍♀️ just made my third attempt 😂

Great to see people getting their appointments through. I'm going to try and resist chasing my doctors registration up today even though I was promised they would phone me yesterday to sort it and they never did.....!!!

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 09:04

@Neom87 the name has now been changed to group chit chat. I don’t know how to add people through username but if someone knows how I’m happy to make them admin so they can do this :)

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 09:05

@WelshLass24 it’s now been changed to “group chit chat” lovely xx

WelshLass24 · 30/03/2021 09:05

Hadn't noticed a name change 😃 I'll jpin now 👍🏻

Neom87 · 30/03/2021 09:06

Am i being a bit numb? 🙈 I can't find the group 😒 Lots of other "chit chat" groups but not ours 🤔

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 09:06

@Neom87 all good lovely! Just want to make sure I haven’t offended anyone or screwed it up! I love this group and it’s been such a great support for me already. I’m so grateful!

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 09:09

@lucea87 sorry lovely are you in now?

Tabbycat92 · 30/03/2021 09:11

Don't worry about not getting apts through yet. The midwives are very busy and will get you booked in. You won't have an apt until at least 8weeks anyway. I'd say if you haven't heard anything by the end of week6 then it's worth chasing up

I've not even reached the midwife yet, I'll be fine once I've been referred, but I've not even been registered at the GP Surgery yet. My concern is that it took them 6 weeks to register my partner....! The woman who does registrations only works certain days so if she doesn't do it today it'll be next Tuesday before she's in again by which point I'll be 6 weeks.

I know I've got time still, I would just like to get the ball rolling!

Neom87 · 30/03/2021 09:20

@sarby21 that doesn't work as a link for me - is somebody else able to click it to check?

I am going to ring the midwife today, eek, rung the docs yesterday and they gave me a number but they only answer 9-12.

Anon222 · 30/03/2021 09:25

Am I wrong in thinking it doesn’t come up on Facebook to friends what groups your in??

The link worked okay for me, I think I've joined 😊

Janxyb · 30/03/2021 09:33

I copy and pasted the link into my fb app search bar as it didn't work properly for me just clicking it x

queenatom · 30/03/2021 09:42

@Gspps Yes, 100% in the same boat as you! First pregnancy, we’d been trying for quite a while and now that it’s happened I’m finding it very hard to accept that it’s real. Whenever I speak with my husband about it, it feels like we’re play acting or like the hypothetical conversations we had when we were trying. I don’t know when I’ll finally believe that I’m actually pregnant and we’re actually having a baby - I suspect not until after 12 weeks earliest, and possibly not until quite a bit later.
