I'm probably one of the first to find out, as there are no other chats! Based off of last period I'm due December 2nd! Got my first positive early at 9dpo.
Anyone else with me yet???

I'm not on fb girls, I got stalked at work so social media is on lockdown but I may just make an account to join you all if need be. X

JGessie · 29/03/2021 23:03

@CCG92 we could call it something super obscure to prevent any suspicions if people are worried? I won't be telling work for quite a while so I'd like to keep it as locked down as I can for now.

The advantage of a Facebook group too is it's easier to split up conversations / topics. I can see this thread is already over 600 posts, it's crazy! Such a wonderful month of BFPs and SO much advice already.

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 00:27

@JGessie I was thinking the same thing. People could choose to join if/when they are comfortable but I am struggling to keep up with all the posts and notifications on this thread!

@CCG92 I think you can make a completely private group that is only visible to those that are in it. I definitely don't want anyone finding out until 12 weeks :)

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 00:36

Okay ladies - I have created a group

www.facebook.com/groups/2911182022535380/

The group is private so only members can access the group and see what others post. At the moment if you type in the group name 'December 2021 Support' anyone can 'see' the group but I can change this to fully hidden once all have joined.

I have just put for those due in late november/early December but happy for whoever wants to join to come on in x

Halpmer · 30/03/2021 03:59

@JGessie I'm 11dpo today, we're almost cycle buddies! Also got a very faint positive at 8dpo, not visible on pics but it is if you squint. Very addicted to POAS and I now have a small collection 😅 I think we're allowed.

Halpmer · 30/03/2021 04:26

@Arthien I'll just be saying I have an appointment as I think it's a bit invasive for them to ask.

queenatom · 30/03/2021 05:45

@sarby21 - how exciting! Definitely keen for a Facebook group.

flowersatthecastle · 30/03/2021 06:17

Hi guys. Didn't realise there were two December threads (other one is in birth groups section) and now both have recently set up Facebook groups!

Anyway, I'm in the club - due 1st December Smile

Tabbycat92 · 30/03/2021 07:03

@sarby21 the plan was to make a Facebook but was holding out until we had the full December load of people 😅 I don't think we even have the first week of December covered yet 😂 but thanks for making a group. Last group I was in they made it private and people were added via email address provided through here

Just joined the Facebook group. My December 19 one was and is a lifesaver!

I wonder if one of the joining questions should be about Mumsnet username so we don't get randoms joining but I might be overthinking it and I don't want to make work for the admins. Also I am happy to help with admin, I am off for two weeks so have some time.

JGessie · 30/03/2021 07:07

@sarby21 thanks so much for making the group! We should make sure we keep re-posting the link so new people to the thread can join.

@Halpmer this is so exciting! Also glad to hear I'm not alone in having a small collection, I'm keeping them in a Birchbox in my bedside drawer at the moment, can't bear to part with a single BFP yet! When are you due? I'm due Dec 6 if I follow the NHS website (although my apps seem to disagree - looks like anywhere between the 6th and the 8th).

Janxyb · 30/03/2021 07:38

I'll join the fb group soon, I'm paranoid as we haven't told anyone our news yet haha 😅

becksy21 · 30/03/2021 07:42

lucea87 · 30/03/2021 07:52

Can I ask what's the going rate for an early scan? I've had a look near me and its £98. It seems alot? My last pregnancy we did a gender scan and that was only £60, maybe it was on offer I can't remember. I have no real reason for wanting to do an early scan, just feeling a bit anxious. The sensible part of me is just telling me to wait until the 12 week scan but the crazy part of me wants to have an early one. I really want to save as much money as I can for mat leave so I'm trying so hard to resist the urge to book one x

JGessie · 30/03/2021 08:03

@Janxyb I found that "Window to the Womb" have an offers page where an early scan is £59, I keep umming and ahhing about booking one just to chill me out a bit. I thought £59 was quite reasonable though, and DP is allowed to go with you.

TTC2021x · 30/03/2021 08:05

Got my BFP yesterday so I have just requested to join the FB group. This will be my 3rd baby. Really hoping all goes ok, have had two miscarriages in the past so can't help but worry! X

Janxyb · 30/03/2021 08:06

Thank you @JGessie I'll have a look. Atleast if I do give in and book one that is more the price I was thinking x

Anon222 · 30/03/2021 08:09

What is the earliest you can have a reassurance scan? With my last two I didn’t go until 9 and 10 week xx

Janxyb · 30/03/2021 08:13

6 weeks seems to be the earliest (for where I've been looking anyway). If I have one I will try and wait til 7, I'd hate to go and not be as far along as I thought then worry that something is wrong x

PinkPurpleParade · 30/03/2021 08:23

Same here, near mine a reassurance scan is from 6 weeks, only £40 where I live though which I thought was very reasonable!

Neom87 · 30/03/2021 08:33

I think we should perhaps wait to use the group as if the chat moves over there we probably won't get any new ladies joining an idle thread, like tabbycat92 said we are only in the first week of December. Probably seems more as there are loads of us!! 😃

May also be a good idea making the group completely private and adding with usernames as at the moment I don't feel comfortable joining the group as I feel the name is quite obvious and people will catch on 🙈

Sorry, I am honestly not trying to be awkward 🙉

Tabbycat92 · 30/03/2021 08:42

I agree @Neom87 it's really a bit soon to be creating a fab group. We didn't for my last group until we were all around 10weeks.

Perhaps have both the chat and fb group running alongside each other?

sarby21 · 30/03/2021 08:51

@becksy21 of course you are! I’ve added you x
