Thought it would be nice to have a thread going for those in the final stretch Smile

Starting to analyse every little twinge now. Knicker checking every time I use the loo like the early days. Braxton hicks every night too. Wondering how much longer I’ll be! This is my last pregnancy so I’m in no rush for it to end, but at the same time can’t wait to meet little one. 37+3 today!

How are you feeling?

I was also up at about 2am with tightenings but they were really painful, had about 6 then they stopped, only 3 days overdue though, midwife tomorrow for a sweep hopefully.

Just been to aldi in the hope my waters break whilst I'm there but nope 🙈🙈

Let’s hope for some more babies in the next few days! I’ve got a growth scan today due to some more reduced movements, hoping it’s all good news today!

Ah @Jasmine9835 was that a routine one or have you had another episode of RM? Hopefully everything is ok!

Can I join in? 37+4 today. Feeling huge. Lots of back pain and tightenings but no other signs! My DS was born 1 day before due date but I had a sweep and determined to try and be more patient this time and let things happen naturally. Feel like I'm symptom spotting like when I was first pregnant! Not long for all of us though ladies - so exciting x

@PowPurry had another episode on Friday so as I’d had 2 in 2 weeks they said it was their policy to scan again. Although once I went in on Friday and they had a feel of what position he was in he started going crazy and the monitor said it met criteria within 10 minutes, felt a bit of a fraud!

Hi @chickensoup23! The more the merrier! Lots of us are having tightenings. Either way we are all having our babies in the next few weeks Smile

@Jasmine9835 it’s anxiety inducing isn’t it. I said to myself last night if he was quiet again today I was going to ring. He’s been ok today though. When I went in at 34 weeks, it took until 52 mins to meet that criteria. The cut off is 60 minutes. They actually admitted me as he was so quiet. I’m not sure what they would do if I went in again? I’m sure it’s because he changes position, when I’m feeling lots of movements, I can feel hard things, whether that’s his feet/back/whatever, but the days he’s “quieter”, my belly is squishier as if he’s disappeared right at the back somewhere!
Don’t ever feel like a fraud, they completely understand and would much rather you go!

@PowPurry yeah I think it’s when he’s changed positions that I notice a lack of movement, they seem to pick up again when I can feel exactly where he is.

Scan was all fine, felt a bit fobbed off though haven’t really felt him much today and he didn’t move during the scan but the midwife said they were too busy to put me on the monitor as the scan was ok and just to monitor movements at home and call my local unit later if they’re still reduced. After reading my notes I’ve realised she was the same midwife I saw the first time for reduced movements who I felt thought I was wasting her time, must be the attitude she gives off!

Hi all can I join in too? I'm 37+3. My DS was induced at 39+6 (due to supposedly being massive he wasn't he was 7lbs 9oz) and born at 40 weeks exactly. Last time I also moved house at 39 weeks so didn't want baby to come before due date but this time I am so ready for this baby to come!

Really don't feel like I know what to expect as had no signs or twinges last time before being induced so really glad to hear all your experiences Smile

PowPurry · 15/03/2021 16:06

Oh that’s terrible. They really shouldn’t make you feel like that. When they asked me when I went if I was happy with movements and I said no, that’s when they pushed for a scan and admitted me.

Trust your instinct and if you’re still not happy just go back.

Hello again everyone and positive vibes to all!

Well after my 4:30am post i fell back asleep haha! Then took the dog for a nice bracing walk on the beach, was lovely hearing skylarks singing. I felt euphoric almost! Is anyone else sensing changes in mood? Hopefully for the better!

Helps that Spring is in the air Smile

I've done loads of walking today, a bit of housework & had a lovely relaxing bath.

No more signs really just lots of braxton hicks.

Our babies will come when our babies are ready!!

What a lovely cheerful post Smile
Yes I definitely sense it too, it’s the sun being out I think. Been a bit over cast here but we are also lucky to live by lots of lovely beaches and we are there at any given opportunity. Definitely my happy place.

Nothing for me really either, apart from good old lightning crotch but that doesn’t mean anything. Plan on bouncing on my ball maybe tonight, but as I said I’m in no rush this week! As of the weekend he can come whenever then Smile

Well, diddly squat last night after I got excited something finally happened the night before so back to being patient and acting as if I'll go to 40+12! Midwife today (40+2) which is a good excuse to leave the house but saying no to sweeps until at least 41 weeks.

How is everyone keeping distracted? The cleaning is never ending but not fun!

chickensoup23 · 16/03/2021 09:05

@serialplanner I read that as 'I did a squat last night' I was thinking good grief I can barely walk let alone do squats! Haha

Report
serialplanner · 16/03/2021 09:08

@chickensoup23 haha definitely not! A walk round the block is hard enough.

I tell myself if I am induced I will do squats whilst the pessary is in but who knows if I will manage them if I get to that!

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. 39 weeks today and so over being pregnant. This is my second and I’ve found it a million times harder than my first pregnancy...am so big and uncomfortable, as well as grumpy and emotional. My poor DH! Labour with my DS started at 39+4 and arrived at 39+6 so I’m hoping this one will be similar (but shorter) and I won’t go over...baby seems comfortable though (at least one of us is!) so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️. I won’t be having any sweeps (personal choice) so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Off to go bounce on my ball although I really can’t be arsed to move 🙈 - sending lots of positive baby arrival vibes to you all!

@serialplanner I have an appointment today too! Although he’s being quiet again, so I’m debating whether to ring the ward. It’s a pain with childcare and the hospital is a good 45 mins away, but I know we’ve got to do these things.
And surely you wouldn’t want to do squats while the pessary is in, it may pop back out Grin

Hi @JemNo66 not long to go now then, I know the can’t be arsed feeling. I’ve been threatening to pack my bag for the last 3 weeks. I want to iron his little clothes that are still in the basket from being washed. I really need to get a move on!

Hi again, well my due date is tomorrow and still no signs. I thought my waters might have broken yesterday but, nope - I just peed a bit!!! How embarrassing! Doesn't bode well for my pelvic floor does it haha

Even my cervix pain has disappeared now. I've got a midwife appointment today. I really don't fancy a membrane sweep so wanting to hold off on that one at least till I'm a week overdue.

Report
PowPurry · 16/03/2021 11:00

@KO2018 things can change so quickly, so don’t get disheartened.
A few of us with appointments today too.
And don’t worry about the wee thing, I’ve always been proud of my pelvic floor even after 4 pregnancies, but the other day DS was doing something and I was laughing so much, yep I peed. I actually bought some of those ball things you insert to strengthen your pelvic floor to use after I’ve had this one!

@PowPurry oh whoops! I've read these stories of mums crab walking up and down the stairs of the hospital to progress. I better come up with a new method haha!

Midwife said baby is 2/5 engaged and next appointment is Sunday 41 weeks exactly. Told me to chill out and "connect with bump" to bring on labour not that I know what that bloody means lol

Hope your appointment went well and you mentioned the movements.

Report
PowPurry · 16/03/2021 12:46

Hi @serialplanner i kind of get that - I think to myself with everything going on my body will never go into labour. I’m always on the go. And actually with DC3, my parents took the others for us for the weekend, I went into labour on the Saturday morning! So definitely try and ‘chill out’ Smile

My appointment is at 2. And I’ve gone from “he’s having a quiet few days” to being quite worried now. As I’m writing this he’s having a wriggle which is such a relief after poking my belly all morning and nothing, but I have this feeling of “he needs to come out” which I don’t know whether it’s my instinct trying to tell me something, or my anxiety taking over. Either way I am definitely going to mention it, I’m preparing for her to send me in for monitoring.
