Thought it would be nice to have a thread going for those in the final stretch Smile

Starting to analyse every little twinge now. Knicker checking every time I use the loo like the early days. Braxton hicks every night too. Wondering how much longer I’ll be! This is my last pregnancy so I’m in no rush for it to end, but at the same time can’t wait to meet little one. 37+3 today!

How are you feeling?

Well after all this chat about the infamous mucous plug, I think I’ve just passed some! Nothing like the proper bloody show I had just before labour with DC3, but it’s something nonetheless!

Jesus the things we get excited about when either TTC a child, just conceived a child or are imminently about to meet said child Envy

I have some lower back period cramps tonight 🤞🤞🤞 Send me dilating thoughts please! I may have also passed some MP earlier ... It wasn't much though so hard to tell! 🤞

PowPurry · 12/03/2021 23:36

Ooo @Smilingdonkey 🤞🏼
How many weeks are you? Yay for the mucous plug crew!

Everytime I get a BH I get back pain to but nothing further happens, hopefully the ball will help move things along

Smilingdonkey · 13/03/2021 11:01

I'm 41+6 and all evidence of labour has gone this morning. I'm so so so tired and fed up. My toddler is all over me and I just don't have the energy emotionally or physically to engage. 😫

Sorry - moaning over!

Smilingdonkey · 13/03/2021 11:01

Sorry 40+6

PowPurry · 13/03/2021 11:32

@Smilingdonkey this is how it can start though - annoyingly! You may find you have a day or two of these types of things before it properly kicks off over the next few days!

Hello, FTM here! I'm 38+2 weeks today. I've had a few twinges and period cramps that seem to stay for about 40 seconds then stop but I don't think it's frequent enough yet. I've not lost my mucus plug or waters yet but I am booked in for a sweep next Tuesday (2 days before due date) to get things going if they haven't already. I'm a bit nervous as I would rather go naturally when baby is ready but also sooo over being uncomfortable every min of the day! x

calimommy · 13/03/2021 14:55

Had an appointment yesterday and my Dr said I am 4cms dilated and 75-80% effaced so she said to chill out unless I wanted to have the baby sooner than later. I'd like to get to 38weeks tbh.

LittleBrownBaby · 13/03/2021 15:18

Hello! I am 37 weeks - but having a planned repeat c section at 38 weeks on 22nd March so just over a week. I have had dragging period pains all day today. I've take steroids to help baby's lungs and really ready now for him to arrive! Nice to have this thread, good luck!

ElderMillennial · 13/03/2021 15:30

There are threads and birth clubs on Mumsnet for people die each month. There's probably one for March babies and one for April babies if you search for it.

ElderMillennial · 13/03/2021 15:30

I meant to say people due each month

FolkyFoxFace · 13/03/2021 15:47

@PowPurry Ooo, exciting! Fingers crossed it could be the start of something! It really is bizarre, isn't it? Never thought the words "mucus plug" and "excited" could possibly go together, but there you are. 😂

@Smilingdonkey How are you feeling now? At least it's a sign that things are happening even if it's stopped for now! Could just be your body having an experiment!

Still nothing here, just the usual BH and electric shocks in my crotch. I've resigned myself to the fact that he probably won't be here tomorrow, so sent DH out to get some picnic style food for this evening. Appetite is up and down - can no longer stomach hot meals for some reason. Back to the little and often of early pregnancy!

How's everyone else doing today?

PowPurry · 13/03/2021 16:08

Hi @Amelia49!
Don’t worry too much about that, a sweep if it’s going to do anything, is the ‘natural’ way to do it! I only think they really work if your body is ready anyway Smile

@calimommy wow! Not long now then. I’m assuming your in the states as they don’t check internally over here, unless your in labour.

@LittleBrownBaby wow that really isn’t long Shock I bet this week will drag/go quickly at the same time!

@FolkyFoxFace not much more to report. I’ve had bits and bobs, not as much as last night, it’s almost like EWCM mixed with small yellowy blobs (jesus sorry!)
Aah we do that too. We make a big thing of it for the kids and call it ‘party food’. All it really means is I can’t be arsed to cook Grin

Well, it turned out I got my wish... Having complained I had no symptoms yesterday, my waters broke last night (this morning?) at 3:30, I had my first contraction just after 4, arrived at the hospital at 6am already fully dilated and starting to push, and our baby arrived at 7:42 this morning.

I thought first babies were meant to take a while to arrive! Currently eating all the snacks I’d packed anticipating a long labour...

PowPurry · 13/03/2021 16:40

@Penguinpinata
Wow wow wow!!! Huge congratulations Flowers
Our first thread baby.
Hope you are all doing well. Enjoy these first precious hours and days with your brand new baby. Aaaaaah.

Glowz · 13/03/2021 16:52

@Penguinpinata congratulations!!

I arrived at hospital for my induction at 11am today and they inserted the pessary at around 1pm. I had a cervical stitch in previously and my cervix is shut currently but is thin so I'm hoping that contractions start soon. Don't really know what to expect since everyones stories are so different. I'm scared of going to the loo in case the pessary falls out Grin
I thought I had a contraction about 2 hours ago but had nothing since. Just constant period cramp which isn't letting up. When midwife felt my cervix she said she felt babies head pop up then back down :/

PowPurry · 13/03/2021 17:05

Oooo @Glowz yes your in today aren’t you!
Best of luck. Keep us updated if you can and I’ll be around for some company if you need it!
Get bouncing!

Congrats penguin!! Sounds like an almost perfect birth!!!! X

Jasmine9835 · 13/03/2021 17:22

@Penguinpinata aww congratulations! That happened quick!

No signs today for me, thought I was having contractions last night, even got my contraction counter app up but think I was kidding myself, just really strong braxton hicks, nothing at all today! Although I walked around Asda with my legs tightly together, I think that’s going to be my last trip out of the house alone I have such a fear of my waters breaking in public

HastingsSpoon · 13/03/2021 17:24

Congrats @Penguinpinata

I’ve resigned myself to going overdue. 39 weeks today & still no signs but to be fair I’ve been a lazy cow all day. Going to go for a long walk tomorrow. For some reason the birth ball just gives me back ache!

FolkyFoxFace · 13/03/2021 20:18

@penguinpinata Oh wow! Congratulations! That sounds amazing! You must be so delighted - brilliant news!

@Glowz Ooo, so exciting - good luck! I hope it's all going well for you. I can't wait to see your update!

@PowPurry Haha! Well if it helps I'd be chuffed to see yellow goo, so I hope that makes up for the ick factor. Grin
Party teas are perfect for lazy Saturdays. I think MIL must have convinced DH that is a treat, too - one mention of sun-dried tomatoes and he's off like a happy puppy. 😂

@jasmine9835 The stop start BH are the worst! Last week they had me leaping in the shower at 11pm. So frustrating!

@HastingsSpoon The ball gives me back ache after a while, too. Midwife showed me how to sit on it and the inside of my thighs are killing me. I don't know why so many men choose to "man spread". It hurts!

SunnySideUp2020 · 13/03/2021 20:24

Congratulations @Penguinpinata !!!

@calimommy how far along are you?

Anyone else suffering from SPD?
I find going for walk makes it worse after or any type of physical activity which makes me so lazy but don't know what to do.
The pains and pressure in my pelvis are crazy whilst walking these days too... 😑

SunnySideUp2020 · 13/03/2021 20:25

@FolkyFoxFace @HastingsSpoon also get back ache after a while on the ball!

PowPurry · 13/03/2021 20:31

@FolkyFoxFace haha yes! DH loves an antipasti platter too 😂
