Thought it would be nice to have a thread going for those in the final stretch Smile

Starting to analyse every little twinge now. Knicker checking every time I use the loo like the early days. Braxton hicks every night too. Wondering how much longer I’ll be! This is my last pregnancy so I’m in no rush for it to end, but at the same time can’t wait to meet little one. 37+3 today!

How are you feeling?

So exciting for everyone, yet nerve racking.

I do have a question and wondered if anyone experienced the same.. It is a bit TMI but come on, we are all about to have babies so what's TMI anyway haha.

The past 2 or 3 days I've been having a huge increase of discharge. If I sneeze, cough, fart I feel it come out of me... Kinda like when your on your period. The discharge is completely clear and reminds of the consistency of sperm, doesn't feel thick enough to be my plug because I've lost some of that and that was like jelly! Anyone else had/having this and any ideas what on earth it is??

SunnySideUp2020 · 12/03/2021 10:50

@Glowz

Haven't had it myself but read it's normal for discharge to increase towards the end...

Jasmine9835 · 12/03/2021 11:04

@Glowz yes I have this! I’ve had quite a lot of discharge this pregnancy, can’t remember having it last pregnancy but I’d say the last week or so it has gotten a lot more, always there everytime I go to the loo and it’s a lot thicker in consistency

@PowPurry it’s frightening isn’t it! Hopefully not long though and they’ll be in our arms Smile

PowPurry · 12/03/2021 11:54

@Glowz were all in the same boat here!
I’ve definitely also had an increase in all that. I’ve found mine is very milky but I also can feel it. It’s almost got a sticky consistency. Hence the knicker checking thinking its my MP.

Also incase anyone is interested - I’ve only lost my MP with DC3, (obviously lost it with the others but I was right at the end of labour then, just before they were born) and for me it did signal the start of things. That was the Saturday morning then irregular BH/contractions all day. Ramped up early hours of Sunday then, waters broke around 7.30am and she was born 8.30am.

So basically what I’m trying to say is don’t think it always has to come away for things to start. Labour really is unpredictable and can’t start without any real warning.

FolkyFoxFace · 12/03/2021 13:44

@PowPurry Ahhh, that's nice and organised! At least you'll be able to slide into the eviction stage nice and easily that way!

Really interesting about the MP, too. I've definitely had more discharge and I've been disappointed every time it isn't my MP, so it's good to know that it isn't always a sure sign of things to come. Pregnancy is so unpredictable, isn't it?!

It's so exciting reading everyone's posts and experiences. The camaraderie and knowing we're all in the same boat has definitely made me feel better this morning, waking up still pregnant with sore ribs! 😂

Between the million trips to the loo, sore ribs, and crazy dreams, night time feels like one very long witching hour sometimes! Some nights I put off going to sleep just to get a bit more rest...which normally wouldn't make any sense, but at this stage seems perfectly sensible in my head. 😂

KO2018 · 12/03/2021 16:42

Hi I’m 39+2 now and getting booooooored waiting!

I don’t have any signs but as this is my first I don’t know what anything is supposed to feel like. Since she engaged into my pelvis, I’ve been having awful sharp pain in my general downstairs region, my husband keeps looking at me sideways saying “are you sure you’re not in labour?!”

No I’m not sure!

Apparently it’s more like period pain but I’ve never really had that either.

Everyone keeps saying when you know, you know.

I’m just going to carry on sewing cushion covers and cleaning the microwave over and over...

Bonnie90x · 12/03/2021 17:25

Can I hop on this thread please? 36+5 and thoroughly fed up now. Just so tired and unable to properly play with my 3 year old. My baby is measuring big so I'm due to have a sweep in 10 days time..... Does anyone know if they work? Hope so. This is my last pregnancy but I'm struggling to cherish it in these final weeks.

GAW19 · 12/03/2021 17:30

I'm 38+2 today, baby no.2, have a csection booked for 39 weeks on Wednesday Grin
So uncomfortable and exhausted now with a 20 month old dd too Hmm

HastingsSpoon · 12/03/2021 17:43

Hi 🙋‍♀️
I’m 38+6 today. Had the midwife and she’s booked me in for a sweep at 40+6 (bloody hope I don’t get to that point). This is my third baby, my last two were spontaneous at
40+10 and 40+7.
Just want to meet the little guy now, it’s not fair how people go early & I always end up overdue Grin
I have LOADS planned next week in the hope he comes this weekend ha!
Hope you’re all taking it easy, so glad my kids are in school full time again. I have spent my week napping as I seem to have 3am insomnia every night which is really bloody annoying!

HastingsSpoon · 12/03/2021 17:45

Oh, my two are 3&5. So glad I’ve got a bigger age gap this time as pregnancy with an under 2 was exhausting.
I mean I’m exhausted now but the break during the day is much needed! They are very excited to meet their little brother (my eldest wants me to have another so he also has a baby sister - eek)

NewYearNewOldMe · 12/03/2021 17:50

38+6 here. Baby no2 and done. Royally fed up of being pregnant now.

FolkyFoxFace · 12/03/2021 18:27

@KO2018 My DH keeps asking me if I'm in labour whenever I get those pains, too! I think he's convinced all women must have a built in labour alert system. If he gets out his watch and starts timing my yelps one more time... 😂

I really want to paint the landing today. DH thinks I'm being ridiculous but I've got my heart set on it. Trying to hold off by posting here instead. 😂 I've also got two books I want to start - they were for when the baby is here for something to dig into, but I want to read them NOW. Part of me thinks if I do then he'll arrive immediately. The other part of me thinks it'll tempt fate and I'll get through both by the time he turns up.

Obviously, I make so much sense...

Penguinpinata · 12/03/2021 18:42

I’m a bit over 39 weeks and can’t stop symptom spotting - although I don’t have any symptoms! Was googling last night whether it was possible to go into labour without having any Braxton Hicks or losing my mucus plug, or even having that nesting urge everyone keeps telling me I’ll have.

I was in hospital for four days before Christmas when it looked like I was going into very early labour so had blithely assumed this baby was definitely going to be early and now, apart from the bump getting in the way at times, I feel so normal, I’m starting to realise it may actually be late! Come on baby, I’d like to meet you.

PowPurry · 12/03/2021 18:47

Oh wow it’s lovely to have so many in the same boat, I’m glad I started it now!

Also just read my last post back, that should say labour CAN start without any real warning, obviously!

@KO2018 yes a lot of people say that don’t they, but actually - again just personally - my labours started off with braxton hicks, then gradually the periody type pain started accompanying them, and it just progressed from there. So no, sometimes you don’t always ‘know’! A general rule of thumb is if the tightenings keep coming no matter what you do, it may well be the real deal!

@Bonnie90x I’ve only ever had sweeps when labour was getting started, so I’m not sure other than that? Maybe someone will come along and share their stories if it worked for them or not!

@HastingsSpoon ah that’s sounds similar to me. 2 years almost to the day between my first two. And I really struggled. 3.5 years between 2+3, and my god, sooo much easier. I’ll never forget reading something on here “the third is like the glue that holds everyone together” - and it was so true for us. She’s a delight. She really did just ‘slot in’.

@NewYearNewOldMe sooo close now 🤞🏼

@FolkyFoxFace a bit of nesting kicking in?
We have got the big jobs out of the way. Re-decorated from room last weekend - and painting is one of those things where it sounds like an awesome idea but as soon as you dip that brush in the pot and start, you want to curse yourself for thinking it was ever a good idea.. bloody hate painting. But the house does feel so much fresher afterwards! Get everything out, do a bit then play the pregnancy card so DH does the rest Grin

Helenknowsbest · 12/03/2021 20:28

38+1 today. Unbearable pelvic pain - may be getting induced next week as I can barely walk. Fed up. Have cold. Bleurghhh.

NewYearNewOldMe · 12/03/2021 21:17

@HastingsSpoon @PowPurry you're making me nervous now. My two will be 2yrs apart give or take a week (or three 😭). Is it really going to be that hard? Oh god. Too late to send one back?

HastingsSpoon · 12/03/2021 21:22

@NewYearNewOldMe it’s so worth it though!! The bond is amazing. But yes, sounds similar! 22 months between mine & now they’ll be just over 3.5 years between youngest & baby due.
I’m worried this one will be left out hence wanting a fourth but think I’m jumping the gun a little Grin

I’ve used the breast pump tonight to pump & I’ve rubbed clary sage oil on my stomach so I’m hoping this triggers something (ha wishful thinking). Trying all sorts to get him out, long walk this weekend I think.

NewYearNewOldMe · 12/03/2021 21:32

@HastingsSpoon I've been thinking about Clary Sage. Currently eating a pineapple sitting on a birth ball. I keep have period like cramps and getting all excited, and then they fizzle out to nothing. Trying to remain Zen but actually just getting a bit ragey.

I envisioned my two to be best friends being so close in age and also get me off the hook for playing endless games but maybe I glossed over the being a newborn bit first 😳

calimommy · 12/03/2021 21:39

My three are 23 & 25 months apart. It's definitely hard work but gets easier. I wanted a bigger gap for this last baby and in the end it worked out as 3.5 yrs which will be nice I think. My middle child had some additional needs when he was younger so I glad he's through that and they are all relatively stable in their little lives now 😂

FolkyFoxFace · 12/03/2021 21:51

@PowPurry I think I'm looking for big jobs, to be honest! We've also redecorated recently, and it made the time pass so quickly. Suddenly having nothing left to do is making me nervous! It's like a strange kind of limbo time, isn't it? 😂 Managed to avoid the landing tonight, but I might pull that trick tomorrow. It's all DH's fault anyway - last week he said "shame we did the landing in that mint green", and now it makes me think of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I need help. 😂

FolkyFoxFace · 12/03/2021 21:55

@bonnie90x This is my first, but I'm having a sweep on Monday when I'm 40+1, so if it does anything I'll make sure to report back! Hoping I don't get to Monday of course, but I can't see myself being so lucky!

tinatsarina · 12/03/2021 22:14

Hi I'm 36+3 3rd baby I've already got a 6 year old and a 1 year old I'm getting Braxton Hicks and back pain and bad sciatica on my left side but nothing else yet.
DS was spontaneous at 38 weeks and DD was induced at 39+4 due to high BP this one I feel might be like DS but tbh I don't really know. I ordered a ball tonight so hopefully it will be here by Sunday so I can start bouncing. Had one with DS but not DD and she took ages to move down and engage so fingers crossed the ball will help this time

physicskate · 12/03/2021 22:16

I'm 37+2 with number 2. Dd is just 2. She arrived at 40+5 after augmented labour. Lost her plug at 40+2. That's when the BH started getting worse and I didn't sleep between then and the birth. Had four sweeps with her. The final one broke my waters.

Dd at nursery full time even though I work part time and had me last day today🤦‍♀️. I have pgp and was on crutches and immobile for most of her pregnancy, so doing everything I can to preserve myself and have avoided crutches this time around! Can just about manage stairs still!! But can't run after her in the park, so nursery was a compromise...

Had a bit of drama this week with a house sale potentially falling through... and I think either the stress of that day r nesting has made me want everything ready and spotless.

I've always hated being pregnant (probably the pgp doesn't help) and mostly ready for this to be over. Have lost little bits of mucus plug and get near-constant bh. But still expecting a rather late arrival, April 8 or 9... 8 or 9 days overdue. That's my prediction!!

PowPurry · 12/03/2021 22:42

@NewYearNewOldMe yes absolutely, it does get easier and we all know the newborn bit goes by sooo quickly.

@tinatsarina my ball is in the next room ready to be bounced on from next weekend! This one was 3/5ths engaged at the last check, which was 34 weeks? And judging by the lightning crotch it’s still well and truly there. All mine have engaged early really, but I’ve still gone to due date. I suppose I should be grateful I’ve never gone over due!

@physicskate it was my first day of maternity leave today too. Weird thought I’m off til January now! I’ve been working from home since I told them at 21 weeks so I haven’t had it too bad really.
I hear you on the pgp. I had it bad last pregnancy, this one was bad early like 18-24 weeks, then strangely got better, but is back now. It’s very tricky getting about.
Ah I can’t imagine going through all that now, is everything sorted or still hanging in the balance?
I’m also having almost constant BH too, and every night for the last week or so they’ve been regular too. I’ve given up timing them now as I always wake up the next morning without it having come to anything. I’m still early though!
