Thought it would be nice to have a thread going for those in the final stretch Smile

Starting to analyse every little twinge now. Knicker checking every time I use the loo like the early days. Braxton hicks every night too. Wondering how much longer I’ll be! This is my last pregnancy so I’m in no rush for it to end, but at the same time can’t wait to meet little one. 37+3 today!

How are you feeling?

@PowPurry definitely hope she sends you for monitoring for peace of mind. Good luck x

I'm 38+5 today and feel terrible. Been nauseous today and throwing up. Pooped a lot over past couple of days and lots of braxton hicks. Biggest complaints I have is the pelvic pain is so unbearable, might be getting induced for it. I really could cry I'm so over it.

@PowPurry hope your appointment went well today. That’s how I felt yesterday, but he’s certainly making up for it today, treating my insides like kick boxing practice

Yep I’m in as predicted! However luckily he’s been fine on the monitor, BP was up slightly at my appointment but has come back down now. Just waiting for the doc to come to see what the plan is!

Well in an unexpected turn, the doc wanted to examine me after mentioning all the tightenings I’ve been having. I had three whilst on the monitor. I was 2cm (which is normal when you’ve had as many as me!) and cervix long but soft, and she gave me a sweep! So we shall see if anything happens tonight?

@PowPurry Oo exciting! Hope something happens for you soon, not jealous at all... 😂

Oooo exciting!!!!! See how tonight goes or you could have a Paddys Day baby Smile

I’m sat waiting for DH to pick me up and I’m having tightenings but no pain with them.
Oooh yes @Wavescrashingonthebeach! Forgot about that!
Looking at the statistics, it looks like sweeps are touch and go whether they actually work anyway, as I said the ones I’ve had before I was in labour anyway... hmmmm.... tonight will be interesting either way. I had to throw a bag for myself together earlier, and the baby’s clothes are still firmly in the basket they’ve been in for the last two weeks, so you know what I’ll be doing tonight! Grin

Had my sweep at half 5,was 3cm dilated and now I'm in agony with my back, had blood after my sweep but slowed down now

PowPurry · 16/03/2021 21:37

Oooh @ew1990 sweep buddies!
I was having tightenings (contractions?!) every 10 mins or so but have died down after a bath. Also had a bit of a show.
Are you having any tightenings?

No tightenings but these back pains are getting worse, I had these with DD she was a back to back labour but they really hurt. Like I couldn't talk or move.

Apparantly my cervix was effaced whatever that means.

PowPurry · 16/03/2021 22:07

It’s nice to know there is someone out there doing the whole “is it, isn’t it?” too!
I think effaced means thinner? Mine was long but soft?
Now I’ve sat down I’m having them again, but went nearly an hour with not feeling much when I was in the bath etc.. so god knows! Time will tell I suppose.

Morning! I wonder if anyone is labouring today...!?

It’s my due date today. I’m going to busy myself making Irish food

After lots of contractions last night after the sweep, they didn’t come to anything but I have had a big show this morning so I wonder! DH has gone to work (half an hour away) and I’ll be going about my day as normal. Now to do the school run with my legs crossed....

Happy due date @KO2018!

No joy here. Hard belly and lower back ache on and off. Fingers crossed. I've made this list to keep patient if anyone has any patience left to appreciate it...

1. Baby releases signal once lungs are ready. Why would I want to rush baby's lungs?
2. Body is showing some signs. Be happy with progress.
3. Could lead to an easier spontaneous labour as body is not rushed🤷🏽‍♀️
4. Not 42 weeks yet which is the normal window.
5. When they are 18 and won't get out of bed will I think about these two weeks!
6. Enjoy the non baby time with DH - we know it's running out!
7. What's 10 days between friends? (Until induction)
8. They will have a pay day Birthday the longer we wait now! Maybe even Easter BH weekend occasionally.
9. Everyday is better for DH having that Easter weekend plus his birthday off with us.

@serialplanner that’s a good way of thinking of it.
Fingers crossed the tightenings progress! It’s a lovely time to have a baby over the next few weeks, with spring, Easter, clocks going forward etc.
I’m petrified of my waters breaking. They only ever did with DC3 (broke as pushing with DC1 and broke for my as part of induction with DC2) and it all happened really quickly afterwards. I’m home alone, DH is in work... the plan is to ring an ambulance straight away and DH will have to come from work if it does happen.
It’s just a bit ridiculous as I’m too scared to even go for a wee (they broke on the toilet last time!)

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!
Good luck everyone and i LOVE that list!
I keep repeating the hypnobirthing mantra "My baby will come when my baby is ready".
Having a nesting day today Smile
Look forward to reading all your updates and once again positive wishes & prayers for all the Mum's & babies!
No movement for me just lots of braxton hicks, lovely bit of lighting crotch, and a leaky boob 😂

Bless you! I can see why. At least you should recognise it happening and you have your plan🤞🏽🤞🏽

So far these babies haven't done as they have been told lol so hopefully once your DH is back from work!

Anyone else getting back pains when the baby moves a lot? I don't remember this with my 1st and 38 weeks today - I keep getting excited something is happening but once the movement stops the pain goes away!

I like the positive thinking @serialplanner
Thanks!

I am due 3rd april so not looking to rush anything but it is easy to get impatient.

Also can't stop eating. I want every food!
Definitely psychological because i don't move that much 😅
I crave sweets like crazy, i have to ask DH to put the items out of reach in the house!! So bad.

For those who has a sweep. What does it feel like?
I had an IUD inserted before and it was extremely painful i almost threw up.
I am worried a sweep might be similar...
