Good morning all. Good luck for the scans!

@Scotti84 I quite like the Kiehl's ultra cream. Or body shop vitamin E. Very soothing. Hope that helps.

Mamabearwhere · 09/03/2021 10:56

@Scotti84 second kiehls ultra cream. I typically have oily/combo skin but since pregnant my chin and cheeks are super dry and flaky and I’ve had loads of hormonal chin spots. I played around with a few moisturisers but the kiehls was the one they did the trick.

Anyone used retinol pre pregnancy? My skin relies on it so much and I really miss using it :(

@Mamabearwhere I’m missing my retinol too Sad I suffer with rosacea and it really helps usually.

MrsMcNtobe · 09/03/2021 11:30

My scan went perfectly, due date moved from 17th to 14th September 🥰🥰

Kirky658 · 09/03/2021 11:41

@mamabearwhere @mrsmcntobe glad all went well ❤️

Bubbles1st · 09/03/2021 11:54

This is the first I'm reading about retinol... can I still use bio retinol though?

unicornpower · 09/03/2021 12:28

Congratulations @Mamabearwhere and @MrsMcNtobe so pleased they all went well 😀

Kirky658 · 09/03/2021 12:39

@bubbles1st apparently you shouldn't use retinol during pregnancy as it contains vitamin a and hasnt been proved to be safe for pregnancy x

Taybz · 09/03/2021 12:45

Hi ladies, scan went really well. It was just incredible to see how big the baby had grown! 🥰 I've been moved to 14th Sept EDD!

Anyone fancy guessing the sex? 😃

September 2021 thread 3 🥳
Taybz · 09/03/2021 12:48

Congratulations @Mamabearwhere & @MrsMcNtobe. Ooh I've just realised @MrsMcNtobe we're now also due date twins haha. Glad your scan went so well! Xx

I'm currently floating on air! First time I feel 100% pregnant..I know that sounds kind of silly but it just feels so much more real now after the scan 💜

SP2Bx · 09/03/2021 12:50

Yay @MrsMcNtobe and @Taybz! Due date twins! So happy for you both.

I have dryness on my chin and around my mouth too, it’s something I’ve had in the past but think it’s exasperated by pregnancy hormones! Just sticking with the good old No.7 for now.

While we’re on moisturisers, what are peoples views on bump creams/oils? Any recommendations? And when to start using?!!

Mamabearwhere · 09/03/2021 13:13

@Taybz aw how exciting so glad all went well for you. I know what you mean about it all feeling real now. I’ve been so happy and excited today, for the first time since finding out I was pregnant which is lovely.

@SP2Bx I’ve been really itchy on my tummy and boob area so have started using the Palmers lotion for stretch marks. It’s really nice, scentless which is great as scents make me nauseas at the moment and super moisturising. It’s also super affordable. Last pregnancies I bought loads of expensive lotions and potions and really I don’t think it makes much difference so long as it takes the dry itchy feeling away.

Mamabearwhere · 09/03/2021 13:14

In terms of when to start using, it’s recommended to start early to avoid stretch marks but I guess you’ll know when you need it. For me it’s when the itching starts.

Hey ladies!
Just wondering if anyone like me has other children, thisnis my 4th! And am thinking of some good ideas on how to tell my other children, how did you all tell yours? I want somethin fun but cute xx

Bigdreamer9 · 09/03/2021 13:26

Lovely scan @Taybz

What is everyone doing for vitamins? I have been taking folic acid and vitamin D but now I’ve passed 12 weeks I wasn’t sure if we are meant to carry on, stop or have something different. I completely forgot to ask at my scan yesterday

Mamabearwhere · 09/03/2021 13:52

@Geegee20 I have two kids and I’m also thinking of ideas on how to tell them. I’ve ordered one of those gender reveal balloons that I’ll give to them to pop and find out the gender but haven’t decided how I’ll tell them. I read online about a letter and gift from the new baby to their siblings to say they’re coming to join the family. I also have a friend who did a treasure hunt in the garden and the end prize was a basket of treats and a sign that said they’re getting a baby.

My kids have been asking for a new baby every single day for about a year so I feel like they’ll either be super shocked and excited or not have much of a reaction given they talk about it so much.

So wonderful to see/hear that the scans went well ladies. Congrats.
Totally now need to find out if my skincare has retinol in! I've just been using Nivea moisturiser on my stomach so far, may order something a bit more specific though now

Mamabearwhere · 09/03/2021 13:59

So sorry @MrsMcNtobe I missed your post! Congratulations too so glad your scan went well

Hey guys, Iv just ate chicken paste and then Googled it and getting mixed results can you eat it when your pregnant does anyone know? Xx

Geegee20 · 09/03/2021 14:32

It's hard isnt it, I just dunno how to tell them one is 12 nearly 8 an 3 , but I was going to wait till easter and do a Easter egg hunt an them let them find something at the end buy with the age differences I dno If my.oldest be like mum what are we doing plus I cant wait to tell people but I wanted them to no first 🤣.. I just want to tell them in a fun way to make them excited. My middle one keeps asking for a brother even tho she has a little one already haha. But the letter one sounds a good idea. I was thinking of going boxes wrapped them with little ones in side an the last one saying guess what an a picture of the scan inside. But again dunno how it will turn out. Suppose I wont no till u try xx

AdventuresAwait · 09/03/2021 14:35

@SP2Bx, I am using the Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil & I love it. Love the smell and feel of it. I starting using it a few weeks ago.

AdventuresAwait · 09/03/2021 14:36

Lovely to hear about all of your scans! ❤

AdventuresAwait · 09/03/2021 14:39

@Bigdreamer9, I'm taking the Pregnacare Plus vitamins.

Sillysocks998 · 09/03/2021 15:30

Hey ladies it's so good to find this thread again with all of you and new ladies in it. @Taybz I don't know why but I saw your scan photo and it made me really emotional!? I agree with you think it's because it looks like a baby and it looks real.
I've got my 12 wk scan this Friday. Excited and nervous. It hasn't felt real so far, haven't told anyone either. Not even my sister or mum. So I'll be telling my sister over video on Friday or Saturday.

I still have nausea every evening. I thought it went away 😭 at 12 weeks and constipation. Lucky to get a bit of rabbit poo each day. Sorry TMI. But it's true 😂. Definitely a grease monkey too. Hair is horrible and spots galore.

MrsMcNtobe · 09/03/2021 15:30

@Taybz yay due date twins!!! How do you feel now? I’m a bit sore/tender but to be fair my bladder was really full and she was really prodding and pressing hard to try and get measurements so I’m assuming it’s just because of that x
