BTW, the tiredness has not gone. Bit of a pregnancy glow I think, face looks yellowy. But I do feel so so tired. I've slept so much this weekend already. I feel OK for a few hours then the tiredness sets in again.

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 16:04

@sillysocks998 glad you are getting it looked at.

Nice to hear about the bumps, mine is definitely noticeable now at 14+4. I was out running yesterday and someone congratulated me and told me I was amazing, haha!

What moisturisers are you all using? I'm on palmers coco butter. X

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 16:05

@sillysocks998 I'm in the same boat, after finishing work early on Friday I slept for 3 hours felt great but now I feel drained again. Seems there's no let up at the moment! What's amusing for me is that whenever I nap DH does as well now when he can I think he has sympathetic pregnancy 🤣❤️

FTEngineerM · 21/03/2021 16:18

I hope you get it sorted @Sillysocks998 sensitivity to light can mean lots of different things so 100% worth checking it out.

Deffo getting the ‘glow’ now, except that comes with spots argh 🤦🏽‍♀️.

Just had my ‘16’ week appt (actually 15 today), just a 5 minute call to go through bloods, all ok on the trisomy front. Nothing now until 24 week appt where she’ll come to house and discuss care. Well I have the anomaly booked at 20 weeks.

Seems so hands off now it’s the second time, I am no less anxious though so it seems odd.

RadDarwazeh · 21/03/2021 17:26

@Kirky658 I'm also on the Palmer's and got the tummy butter too (yet to try)

@FTEngineerM I have a 16 week one on the phone too coming up. It'll be a quick one like yours I bet. Then 20 week scan. Hoping DH can come to that scan !!

KH512 · 21/03/2021 17:49

@leftitlate37 same here, mine looks like a 'B' at the moment! Can't wait until it looks like a proper bump.

@AdventuresAwait it's so strange isn't it! With my bump expanding and my nipples now - it feels so much more real haha! I'm almost 16 weeks now.

@Sillysocks998 I've read that your eyesight changes a lot when you're pregnant, it could be down to that. I normally only wear glasses when reading or driving but recently I have found that I need wear them more often

@Noodles4Me congratulations on the news of a baby boy!

AdventuresAwait · 21/03/2021 18:03

@Kirky658, I'm using the Weleda oil. I love it!

I've got my 16 week appointment on Friday at the clinic. It will be the first time I've properly met my midwife as the booking appointment was on the phone.

Having some stretchy pains on my left side. Quite low down. Anyone else? Xx

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 18:09

@adventuresawait I get these pains too. Apparently they are every normal round ligament pains. Mine tend to be worse if I've done too much exercise that day.

I'm next seeing my midwife a week on Thursday for my 16 week check 👍

crobo87 · 21/03/2021 18:12

@AdventuresAwait I'm getting the stretching type pains too. Low down. Had it on the left side yesterday, seems to be in the right today.
I'm 13 weeks. My 16 week appointment is also via phone.

AdventuresAwait · 21/03/2021 18:25

Ok thanks both @Kirky658 and @crobo87. I didn't think it was anything to worry about but wanted to ask and see if anyone had the same.
We're getting ready to move house and I've been doing a lot today (not lifting, just sorting). Much more active so maybe it's that too.

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 18:34

@adventuresawait oh bless you hun, at least you're moving home early on in the pregnancy ❤️🤰 how exciting having bubba in your new home. We cleared out the room that was my office yesterday and moved it all downstairs so we now have a nursery to decorate over Easter xx

FTEngineerM · 21/03/2021 18:41

Yes @AdventuresAwait and itchy skin where I think it’s stretching already?! Slapping on palmers.

@RadDarwazeh i hope they’re not all like that though, I like being checked and all that jazz 😬. Fingers crossed for you, partners are allowed in the scan room and that’s it in our trust. Big line of men waiting in the narrow corridor.. then everyone spaced out inside the actual waiting room.

@Noodles4Me I didn’t see you found out, fab news 🥳🥳

SP2Bx · 21/03/2021 19:03

@Kirky658 so pleased to here you say that about the twinges/pains being more when youve exercised more, as I went on an accidental 10km dog walk this morning after getting lost and had them too 😅

I'm using the Palmers Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks - it says to use daily but, I can still feel it on my skin the next day so every other day should be fine for now, and I also ordered this little gift set which has a bump moisturiser, bath oil and bump sheet mask (for later down the line)! The bag is so cute 🙊

SP2Bx · 21/03/2021 19:05

Defo attached the image to my last post, grrr

September 2021 thread 3 🥳
AdventuresAwait · 21/03/2021 19:23

@Kirky658, thanks! Yes moving on Friday and will be lovely to be settled in our new place for when little one arrives.
Exciting to think about decorating your nursery!

Yes to the itching @FTEngineerM, I might try Palmers too as a few of you have mentioned it.

AdventuresAwait · 21/03/2021 19:25

Might get one of those @SP2Bx. Thanks for sharing. It looks good and the bag is fab!

bluemagicalsky · 21/03/2021 19:34

I am slathering on Nivea soft moisturiser after a shower in the morning and using bio oil before bed. Unfortunately I have stretch marks from just being a teenager, so I think my skin is prone to them. Doing what I can, but I think it's inevitable for me!

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 19:45

I think we should all try and embrace our stretch marks it is a wonderful thing after all ❤️😘

unicornpower · 21/03/2021 19:48

@Kirky658 my husband is having sympathy McDonald's with me and is loving every single minute! Hes got one of those annoying metabolisms where he never gains weight so he's enjoying a weekly McDonald's trip! Im with you on the tiredness, I dont know how I functioned before. I'm so impressed with you still running I really am!

@noodles4me congratulations on baby boy! Seem to be all boys so far on this thread isnt there?

@bluemagicalsky I've bought some bio oil so am waiting for it to be delivered, is it good? I also have loads of stretch marks from puberty so I just have that type of skin I think!

Sickness came back for me at 13+5 yesterday and I feel awful most days! Although it was McDonald's day today and it made me feel better. I also took the dog out as it was such nice weather by us and honestly my legs felt like i was dragging them through tar, I had to sit down and rest half way round (its only just over 2 miles). I also cried half way round as some dogs were all running around and playing and mine went over to join in and they didn't want to play with him and all ran off, he came over to me looking all sad. (The hormones are real atm!)

Kirky658 · 21/03/2021 19:51

@unicornpower we had a maccy Ds brekkie today it was immense 🤣 what did you have? Haha believe me some days I just think sod this! But it's meant to make Labour easier and quicker if you exercise a lot so that's what I'm hopeful for!

Hormones are the worst for me too atm. Daftest things making me cry! Just had a bit of a tantrum as I'd made a chicken curry for tea and didn't fancy it in the slightest. When I sat down to eat it I literally inhaled it, realised I was starving lol

FTEngineerM · 21/03/2021 20:00

Oooo is that Rochelle Humes’ brand @SP2Bx ? I’ve been snooping at that because her skin always looks outstanding, any good?

Noodles4Me · 21/03/2021 20:03

Thanks all. Midwife tomorrow. Heard heartbeat at scan on Saturday so not sure really what this will be. Blood tests, then get weighed and I'm going to make sure she puts C-section in notes just to re-emphasise.

Other than that? Who knows?

CherylLW · 21/03/2021 20:52

I’ve been gradually making a little list (which is now a massive list) of what I’ll need for the new baby. I’ve just added a few things and realised how much is already on there!! I can’t imagine not needing any of the thing I’ve already got on the list.
What’s on your lists? Any must haves from the mums who are on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th pregnancies? It’s a minefield!!

bluemagicalsky · 21/03/2021 21:41

Well said @Kirky658 I will definitely try to embrace the stretch marks
@unicornpower I've only ever used bio oil on existing stretch marks, I can't say it worked wonders. It is meant to be a better preventative though, I have close friends that used it through pregnancies and didn't get any. I definitely think it's more about genetics though. I read 80% of pregnant women will get them, so trying to prepare to be proud of the stripes! Smile

KHR1 · 21/03/2021 22:05

@CherylLW making the baby list is so exciting!
A few random things we found helpful were
A sling or carrier (I never thought I'd want one but ended up using it loads)
Waaaay more muslin cloths than you think you'll need
A waterproof mattress cover
