@KHR1 well I guess I can ask the midwife as I see her a few days before the assessment. Thanks for sharing though. It's my age combined with bmi which makes me need the thinner injections.

leftitlate37 · 20/03/2021 16:17

@KH512 yes to the nipples!! I wondered if was that! Weird! Also insanely itchy at times....grrrr
Yeah its defo under my belly button I have a bump....not a cute baby bump, just looks like hiding a rugby ball there!!

KHR1 · 20/03/2021 16:24

@Bubbles1st hope the midwife is helpful and can explain more. It seems so early for you to have to be thinking about that and meeting the anesthetist

FTEngineerM · 20/03/2021 16:43

@Bubbles1st it mentions it here www.nbt.nhs.uk/maternity-services/labour-birth/meeting-an-anaesthetist-maternity

Seems as if they’re having a chat about pain relief should you want/need any in labour. Suppose there’s nothing wrong with being prepped, unless you have no plans for epidural/spinal block.

If it’s any consolation they were stressing last time like mad about my heart thinking it was going to pop or something, it’s fine, I repeatedly told them that. Just goes fast sometimes. Then they didn’t even notice in labour when it started going fast 🤭🤦🏽‍♀️. There seems to be lots and lots of boxes to tick.

How is everyone this weekend? I keep feeling them jumping around, it’s so cute, fully out of the horrid hormonal first trimester woohoo 15 weeks tomorrow.

Geegee20 · 20/03/2021 16:51

Hey ladies!
Are hair growth tablets/ vitamins safe during pregnancy. And has anyone ever used the while pregnant?

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 17:00

@CherylLW, I have an anterior placenta too!

They didn't tell me anything about the heartbeat at my 12 week scan. Not even the rate like they did for others. But at both private scans they let us listen. Only briefly but was nice. Maybe something else that differs by area.

@KH512, it's my first too and I thought the same. I suddenly noticed it was more firm and rounded. Asked my husband if it was a bump and he said he'd noticed it a couple of days before 😍 Starting to feel more pregnant now.
Not noticed anything on my nipples yet.
How many weeks are you?

Glad there's a few of us doing the course!

Bubbles1st · 20/03/2021 18:42

@FTEngineerM thanks I've looked online and can't see much about needing a plan due to bmi alone. I'm just going have to push it to back or my mind until my midwife appt.

I'm sure it's all just precautionary so won't knock the care

Noodles4Me · 20/03/2021 18:47

Anterior placenta here too. Had a 17 week scan today. Baby was on his head and hiding his face but all was good. Saw his gorgeous little feet :)

He's deffo a boy too!! Exciting. Just got to keep plodding on and hope he keeps progressing as he has been [heart]

CobleCloud · 20/03/2021 18:58

@Bubbles1st I also have a a higher BMI and under a consultant. I have an appointment booked in with an anaesthetist too in July (due 13th September) my consultant said it's nothing to worry about and it's not her pushing me down a certain route but would like one to look at my back to see if an epidural would be possible if needed and/or I plan on having one. She did say the only part my BMI might have a play in, is if I do have one I might end up having it earlier in labour as it can take a big longer to work potentially and it would be good in place sooner should I needed any emergency treatment in labour. I'm not too worried about it but hope that may help a little bit. ☺️

Bubbles1st · 20/03/2021 19:02

@CobleCloud thanks for sharing. My appointment is a telephone assessment so I'm not sure what can happen from that. I understand maybe they need to check the back fat situation!!

CobleCloud · 20/03/2021 19:04

No worries @Bubbles1st it maybe the telephone call is to just go over those options! Hope all goes well 😌

Kirky658 · 20/03/2021 19:09

Itchy nipples here too!!! I've found rubbing palmers cocoa butter on them helps a lot.
Craving all the sweet things today! Was messaging my younger brother earlier and mentioned I was craving jam doughnuts, 30 mins later he turned up with some for me. Bless him! He's only 21 so it's 'not cool' for him to be excited about the baby but he can't wait I can tell lol xx

Squibble84 · 20/03/2021 20:32

@Noodles4Me that’s exciting you got to see the baby again and find out it’s definitely a boy! Congrats!

I’m definitely feeling that bubbly first movement now a good few weeks earlier than I did in my first pregnancy! Forgot what a nice feeling it is! 💖

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 20:32

Ahhh lovely to hear about your scan @Noodles4Me! Glad all was good x

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 20:34

Oh how lovely @Squibble84! Can't wait to experience that. So exciting! Xx

Sillysocks998 · 20/03/2021 20:52

Hey ladies. I'm developing a sensetivity to lights, TV, room light, phone light. Anyone feel like this? I'm 13 wks.

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 21:24

Hi @Sillysocks998, only when I have a headache which is usual for me. Is it with a headache or anything else? Tired etc? Not experienced it, other than with my headaches or tiredness but maybe others have.

Kirky658 · 20/03/2021 21:35

@sillysocks998 I'm the same as @adventuresawait. I've found ive had to put my glasses on now when working on my laptop as I find the glare hurts my eyes and gives me a headache most days. My bro showed me how to turn on the blue light filter on my pc screen the other day which I think will help. I would say if it carries on maybe chat to your gp to check all is OK. Xx

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 21:58

@Kirky658, ooh I might look into the blue light filter, which might help my headaches. Didn't know about that. Yes I agree, always good to get things checked if worried @Sillysocks998.

CherylLW · 21/03/2021 10:17

@Noodles4Me Woo Hoo congratulations on your scan and it definitely being a little boy 💙 must have been so nice to see him again!

I’ve got mine Saturday and I can’t wait!

Did they say anything about the anterior placenta or did you hear the heartbeat? Have you had your midwife appointment yet? X

CherylLW · 21/03/2021 10:19

@Kirky658 that’s so lovely of your brother 💙 my brother is 32 and isn’t a fan of children, the thought of holding them is definitely not for him but he asks me so much about the baby I can tell he’s excited.... makes me emotional!

Any eye issues please book in to see and optometrist girls. Speaking from experience 💕

My bump has come girls, DH noticed it this morning even! So I'm slathering on the moisturer

Sillysocks998 · 21/03/2021 16:02

Thank you @AdventuresAwait @Kirky658 @RadDarwazeh I have an appointment on 9th April. Might wait for it. I'm shielding. If it gets worse I will sek advice. I use my phone hell of a lot for work. That's not easing up until the Easter holidays. I've got a bump. Gets bigger during the day. By night I feel a stretch. I'm using moisturiser twice a day now. I've got bruising from blood thinnig Injections but I think I'm tunnelling on just making sure the baby is OK. Doing everything I can. Weird how slowly you just start thinking more and more about you and the baby. It's all part of the process but I can feel that cross over. From reading we've got gender scans and first MW appointments to look forward to. 😊😍
