Oh amazing! Thanks @Poppins2016 !

@Squibble84 Sorry to hear you didn't hear the heartbeat, has anybody else heard it at theirs? I was reading a magazine from my Bounty pack today that said they don't listen to it at 16 weeks anymore because it can still be difficult for the midwife to find it at that stage and it just causes unnecessary worry...

Think I'll go expecting not and if I do then it's just a bonus!

Poppins2016 · 19/03/2021 18:03

@Bubbles1st it should do it automatically - you should see this (pic attached) on the page?

@SP2Bx my 16 week appointment is this Thursday so can't speak for this one, but I did hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks with my first!

@Poppins2016, I just purchased the course! Great offer. Thanks so much for sharing the link 💐

Poppins2016 · 19/03/2021 19:09

@AdventuresAwait

I figured you can't go too far wrong for £12!

I've seen the company mentioned positively on MN before... and the course content looks roughly similar to the one I did (in person, for over £100!) when I had my first... so I'm expecting good things! Smile

AdventuresAwait · 19/03/2021 19:59

Absolutely @Poppins2016!
Just looked at the course content and it looks great. I had been interested in knowing more about it so thought I'd go for it with the offer.
Excited to learn about it now.

Bubbles1st · 19/03/2021 20:13

I just signed up to the hypno birthing program! Will be good if there are several of us doing the same one.

AdventuresAwait · 19/03/2021 20:19

Yay! @Bubbles1st 👍

SP2Bx · 19/03/2021 21:07

Oh no @Poppins2016 the £39 isn't crossed out for me 🥺

SP2Bx · 19/03/2021 21:08

Wait I got it!

bewitchingnight · 19/03/2021 21:17

I signed up too, looks great Grin

Bubbles1st · 19/03/2021 22:37

Has anyone else with a high bmi been referred for an anaesthetic either this pregnant or previous.

I'm worried about this referral being done so early like it's almost premeditated about needing a c section?

This is something I've never heard anyone I know having had done before.

Another reason I'm suddenly over thinking it is because I've read that if you are on the blood thinner injections which I'm being prescribed from 28 weeks, and you go into labour within 12 hours of the last injection you can't have an epidural and if you need a c section it has to be under general anaesthetic.

I understand there needs to be a plan in place for this but surely not yet? Once I've had growth scans and get further along to establish any actual risk?

I woke up excited at being 15 weeks and seem to have spent the day finding something to worry about and right at bed times it's this :(

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 09:23

Good Morning everyone ❤️ How is everyone getting on?

I’m 16+1 today, have my 16 week midwife appointment on Thursday and my private scan on Saturday 😍

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 10:38

Hi @CherylLW, I'm doing OK thanks. Just wish I could sleep better and I have a lot of lower back pain so waiting for a physio appointment. Otherwise, I'm ok. I'm 15+2, have my 16 week appointment on Friday and a private scan the following Friday!

Starting to show which is exciting. Can't wait to feel baby move and to find out if we're having a boy or a girl 😊

Not sure what to expect at my 16 week appointment.

How are you feeling? Xx

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 10:52

Hey @AdventuresAwait, I feel for you having back pain and the waiting for a physio. I have some lower back pain but it’s manageable at the moment.

I’m stating to show a bit too! Sometimes after I meal I feel massive!! I keep dreaming I’m having a girl and I dream that I can feel movements, it’s all very surreal!

I’m the same, not sure what to expect. Someone on here said they didn’t listen for the heartbeat... I’m glad I have my private scan if this is the case at the moment.

I’m ok, still have nausea 😞 it’s less often now but when I do get it it’s more intense!

Xx

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 11:53

Yes @CherylLW, I read that too so hope to hear the heartbeat at the scan if I don't with the midwife!

I think I'm having a girl! But some of my family think boy! Hopefully, we'll know soon!

How lovely to feel movements! This is my first baby so not sure how it will feel 😊

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 12:28

@AdventuresAwait I haven’t heard the heartbeat at any of my scans so far so really hoping they will when I see the midwife 🤞🏼.

Oh I haven’t felt movements yet, I just keep dreaming I do 🙈 I feel strange things but I have no idea what I’m expecting to feel when it actually starts moving!!

I can’t wait to say he or she 💗💙

leftitlate37 · 20/03/2021 12:56

ive got my 16 week on Thursday too @CherylLW! r u having a private scan to find out if boy or girl? we are really tempted as can finally see parents from 29th so would love to know before then!!
Also be more likely to get private scan if can't hear the HB at appt next week.
definitely feeling massive, sometimes dont look that bad, but feel like ive eaten a beach ball. Think might be a bit...um...blocked up too which means eating isnt actually that pleasurable as just feel full the whole time even when hungry!!

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 13:02

@leftitlate37 ooo exciting!! Mine is at 9am which I like, definitely prefer not to have to wait round if I can help it.
I’m having a private scan in the hope they can tell me the sex but also just as reassurance that everything is ok as waiting from 12-20 weeks for a scan is too long for my anxiety 🙈.

I’m the same as you, sometimes I look ok and then others I feel huge!! It’s horrible isn’t it not being able to go to the loo, makes everything so uncomfortable, is there anything they can prescribe or do they just say drink lots of water and get lots of fibre in?

leftitlate37 · 20/03/2021 13:09

Yeah thats the thing, eating fibre, exercising and nothing is shifting!! Defo uncomfortable.. . Cant imagine adding massive baby bump into the mix! Had been looking normal in mornings but last week been definite shape to that belly! Glad you have yours early...im totally opposite at end of day! Tbh I think I'll do same as u and get appt for weekend...not sure i can wait til end April if dont get to hear hb on thurs and dont start feeling any movement!

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 13:24

I think for me a scan is definitely needed just so I have that reassurance. My NHS scan is April 16th so still a while off.

When I go for my scan Saturday that’s after work at the end of the day so I’ll probably be in a world of my own all day!

Hopefully it will shift eventually, it’s just such an uncomfortable thing to have to deal with on top of other things!

AdventuresAwait · 20/03/2021 13:38

@CherylLW, we booked 2 early private scans and heard the heartbeat then but would love to hear it again before the 20 week scan for reassurance.

Apparently the first movements can feel like bubbles 😊

Counting down the days to the scan!

Bubbles1st · 20/03/2021 13:40

@AdventuresAwait oh like bubbles, sitting here convinced I can feel baby even though I've just eaten a whole giant bag of cheese Doritos and perhaps have copious wind brewing 🤣🤣

CherylLW · 20/03/2021 13:40

@AdventuresAwait really!! That’s amazing!
I had a private scan at 8+5 and then my NHS one and then another private at 12+3 and they have never listened to the heartbeat 😕.
I’ll have to ask the midwife and I’ll ask again at my private scan next week 🤞🏼

I can’t wait to feel the bubbles, I just want my anterior placenta to move to I don’t have to wait as long!!

KH512 · 20/03/2021 14:25

@Poppins2016 thanks for the heads up! I've just bought the course too, willing to give it a go!

@AdventuresAwait starting to show too, my DH said a few days ago 'wow you really look pregnant' haha! I'm surprised, I always thought with your first it wouldn't be so obvious. Though I currently have a B bump!

Has anyone else spotted any yellow crusty stuff on their nipples yet? I think it might be colostrum...

KHR1 · 20/03/2021 15:03

@Bubbles1st sorry this probably isn't helpful but last pregnancy I had a booking bmi of 37, I was on aspirin and not injections though. I had an epidural no problem and noone mentioned seeing an anesthetist. This time my booking bmi was 41.5 and they just said aspirin again and other than groth scans and things haven't mentioned anything else.
