@Mamabearwhere and @Kirky658.. my nausea is better but have constant headaches too 😕 Have you found anything that helps? I use the cool strips on my forehead. I try to avoid paracetamol but I've had to take it.

Kirky658 · 16/03/2021 18:06

@mamabearwhere yep my hair is so thick and I am losing more than usual.. Towel dried my hair this morning after a shower and could see it all falling!
@adventuresawait the only thing that helps me is 1 paracetamol and a nap!

Mamabearwhere · 16/03/2021 18:08

@AdventuresAwait I haven’t taken anything for it yet as I’m also avoiding taking medication but this is day 3 of 24/7 headache and I might take paracetamol if it carries on. It’s like I have a tight elastic band around my head! Probably doesn’t help they my diet is rubbish beige food plus little water as it makes me more sick.

Oh my gif whoever mentioned monster munch, I know have a massive craving for the pickled onion ones! Might have to send DH out! 😂

16 week appointment is on Friday this week and it’s a home visit. My house is a bomb site mainly due to my 18 month old but feel I should tidy it to make a good impression!

I think I’ve invited everyone who’s messages to the group now - let me know if I’ve missed you, I got a bit confused with all the messages! 🙈 I’m blaming baby brain! Anyone else who wants to join DM me and I’ll add you - I’ll also be staying on here as well!

bewitchingnight · 16/03/2021 18:13

@SP2Bx oh I don't have it, thanks for the tip I will check it out!

Squibble84 · 16/03/2021 18:17

Also, do people mind me inviting a mum from my September 19 group? I don’t think she’s been on here that I know of but she’s also due number 2 in September!

Sillysocks998 · 16/03/2021 18:20

@Rach921 hey oww really? Today I've eaten good, little roast going on and do feel nausea. Not as strong. Last night I had acid reflux type of sensations.

I have my MW app on 16th April. Let us know what they do for those who have the appointment earlier. Hope she is nice!

Bubbles1st · 16/03/2021 18:27

My 16 week appt is not until nearly 18 weeks... the suspense of hearing the heart beat will be to much the closer it gets!

Squibble84 · 16/03/2021 18:34

@Bubbles1st 18 weeks! That’s late, have you asked them to bring it forward?!!

Bubbles1st · 16/03/2021 18:38

@Squibble84 they are too busy! I don't think the Easter bank holiday has helped as they only have clinic on a Monday

Apparently it doesn't matter that it will be past it. I got pushed forward a few days at my scan as well so instead of a week after it's nearly two.

Least it won't feel long to the 20 week scan!

Squibble84 · 16/03/2021 18:44

Yes that’s true! Then the 2nd trimester races by and the 3rd trimester lasts approximately 3 decades! 😅

KHR1 · 16/03/2021 18:55

@Mamabearwhere my hair is coming out all over the place! Last time it seemed to stop falling out until after I'd given birth but this time it's everywhere!

FTEngineerM · 16/03/2021 19:01

@Squibble84 get them involved Grin! More the merrier. Also super accurate about 3rd trimester 😂 I almost forgot then dammit.

I don’t know how far along you are now @Mamabearwhere
but I’ve got a cracking headache today and I have drank more water than usual so it’s not that.

I’ve definitely got lots more energy now though which is a relief. I started thinking nausea was life now 🤦🏽‍♀️all good.

FTEngineerM · 16/03/2021 19:02

I don’t have my 16 week spot yet 😬I’m 14+3, hoping it’s soon.

We caved and booked a private gender scan for 3rd April. Soooooooo excited

AdventuresAwait · 16/03/2021 19:05

Exciting @FTEngineerM! Ours is the 2nd April. Can't wait.

Mamabearwhere · 16/03/2021 19:09

@FTEngineerM going by my latest bonus scan today (because I transferred hospitals and they wanted to scan again) they dated me 13+4. Reassuring to hear we’re all more or less on the same boat

Has any bought or already reading any baby books? I’ve been looking at lots about pregnancy, the birth, bringing them home etc... wondered if anyone had any recommendations? X

FTEngineerM · 16/03/2021 19:26

Eeekkk not long @AdventuresAwait!

@Mamabearwhere that’s a nice surprise and extra scan.

Mamabearwhere · 16/03/2021 19:38

Has anyone found any nice quality maternity leggings or jeggings? I’m specifically looking for under the bump ones as I find over bump SO suffocating and uncomfortable.

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 16/03/2021 19:40

Do you mean recommendations for books about pregnancy and birth @CherylLW? or about babies?

mumof23188 · 16/03/2021 19:57

@Kirky658 @AdventuresAwait thanks for the welcome ☺️.

I’ve had the most horrendous sickness this time round, thankfully coming out the other side now but I’ve been terrible today. Also yes to the headaches!

Ahh all the talk of hearing babies heartbeat 💓 unfortunately my trust don’t listen to the heartbeat at all so that’s something I’ve missed out on again this time.

bluemagicalsky · 16/03/2021 19:59

@CherylLW I've bought 2 books. The first is called The Modern Midwife's guide to Pregnancy Birth & Beyond by Marie Louise. Enjoying it. And the second is more focused on when baby is here: The New Contented Little Baby Book by Gina Ford. Controversial I know, but routines and structure suit me and DH really well so I think Gina Ford may suit us.
@Mamabearwhere I know what you mean! I've not bought any but the look of stuff that goes over bump makes me feel claustrophobic just looking at it!

SP2Bx · 16/03/2021 20:05

You lot! I bought pickled onion monster munch while doing the food shop tonight! 😂😂

My midwife booked what I can assume is my 16 week appointment (although she referred to it as seeing me at 15 weeks) for 2nd April when I'll be 15+4! Haven't even had my scan yet, it's on Thursday! I got given a pot to pee in and take with me, and she said we'll discuss bloods, but really hoping I hear heartbeat too! 🤞🏼

SP2Bx · 16/03/2021 20:05

Oh sorry, wanted to ask, thoughts on hypnobirthing? Go...

Kirky658 · 16/03/2021 20:11

My midwife said the 16 week appt is an opportunity to listen to the heartbeat, another urine sample, blood pressure and general check up. Interesting they don't listen to the heartbeat in your trust @mumof23188! Where in the UK are you?

I have literally one baby book that got given to me. Pregnancy week by week. I don't think I'm going to go down the route of books. I might be being naive, but I want to try and work things out myself & use my families' experiences too... Might all end in tears mind! 😂
