I had terrible hip pain last time in the third trimester - sleeping was hard, I had to sleep propped up against pillows for the last couple of months. Could you ask to get referred to a pregnancy physio?

Anyone else having constant hot flushes? My temp seems to be sitting between 37.3 - 37.7 most of the time, much hotter than I usually am. I don’t remember this last pregnancy!

@Nervymama

Hi Everyone,

Hoping you're all doing ok!

I'm 11+4 today. I'm feeling so nervous about my scan (next week Thursday), and came across your group when searching like a maniac on Google for people who may be feeling similar. To be honest, since my booking appointment I've been stressed out and anxious. I've been told I'm a high risk pregnancy for reasons I won't bore you all with. However the stress and anxiety has meant I've been signed off work until after the first scan. This is probably for the best because I've been doing teacher training and the final weeks of first trimester coincided with children coming back en mass to school, which felt risky anyway because of Covid. I wondered, am I the only one freaking out about/who has freaked out about getting to the scan? The idea of missed miscarriage terrifies me... Thanks.

I'm petrified! My scan is Tuesday. So anxious that something might be wrong, xx
Sillysocks998 · 13/03/2021 00:24

Hi everyone
I want to tag you all in 🙈🙉. I just woke up now I'm wide awake! @RaeRae84 amazing 🤩. @unicornpower glad everything went well got you today and anyone else. Im 12 weeks 1 day. I feel the nausea has gone down abit. But the random messages from yesterday night about my bum hole 🙈🙊🙉, the Dr said its pressure building up. Its hurting me now. Lowr pelvic region. Its not mild at all. Takes my breath away! Anyone else? @Bubbles1st I never had sciatica but I think I'm getting it! Left side of loser back stings from time time and I understand about your leg buckling... Mine too. Feeling really weak. @Nervymama welcome. I'm clinically extremely vulnerable and I understand how you feel. I'm shielding for the whole pregnancy and not having vaccine until after. So I feel very scared too. Also got a complex medical history. Here if you need me directly x if we can DM?

Ahhhh this is going to definitely be one of our biggest physical challenges. But keep thanking God and praying when you feel alone. I think I'm telling my family Sunday. I need more support. Mentally and emotionally. This group is great too. Thank you everyone. My husband needs a break from me 😂 xx

leftitlate37 · 13/03/2021 07:16

Well I made it til 6...nearly came and messaged when lying awake at 4! Guessing was a few folk up at that point? Started stressing out i have no idea what to do with a baby and where to start!
@Kirky658 sorry hadnt seen your earlier post re the downs odds, don't get disheartened they are defo really low. Nhs told me id get either high risk and above 1 in 150 (or was it 250) or low risk which was less than 1 in 150, so with your numbers they are defo good. I really like the jelly bean analogy!
@Nervymama welcome, glad u found us all and defo ppl with good advice and everyone can support u. Glad that u have been signed off work if u r that stressed and anxious. Chances of finding a MMC will be really really rare at the 12 weeks scan. Think most be picked up at earlier scans, with my first pregnancy we had a private scan at 10.5 weeks and found out baby hadnt developed since 6, by the time my 12 week scan would have been here I'd miscarried naturally anyway, so what I'm trying to say is if things go wrong I'm sure our bodies will do something much before that stage. Totally doesn't mean waiting for 12wk scan is any easier but we will all be keeping everything crossed.
Anyway happy weekend everyone! Means afternoon nap time without feeling guilty!!

MrsMcNtobe · 13/03/2021 08:36

Another random one from me... 😂 does anyone else that suffered with bad constipation feel like it’s subsiding as we’ve hit the 2nd trimester?

Nervymama · 13/03/2021 08:49

Good Morning Mama's to be,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for being so kind and so welcoming. It's good to know that we're all feeling the same and all nervous about the scans. For those of you who have had them, I'm so pleased they went well. For those of us due to have them this coming week, all the best to you all! I'll keep you posted on mine. Where I am, my hubby is allowed to be with me for the first one and I feel very lucky as I have deduced this is something that varies across depending on where you are. Take care all x

Rach921 · 13/03/2021 08:51

@MrsMcNtobe yes! It’s eased so much in the last week

CherylLW · 13/03/2021 08:57

@Taybz it’s such a relief when it calms down a bit but I guess whatever is thrown at us is because our bodies are doing an amazing thing and it will all be worth it. X

@unicornpower woo hoo!! So happy your scan went well, it’s beautiful! I’m no expert at guesses but I would say boy too! I did the nub tech thing the other day, it was fun X

MrsMcNtobe · 13/03/2021 08:58

@Rach921 I think if there’s anything I’ll 100% remember about my first pregnancy it’s the pain and discomfort of trapped wind and constipation!

Sillysocks998 · 13/03/2021 09:04

@MrsMcNtobe yes a little. I agree. Maybe our hormones are levelling out now. I actually made a roast for lunch on Thursday. So I reckon that's a good sign.. I use to eat roasts like 3 x a week and didn't have any weeks 8 to 12.

MrsMcNtobe · 13/03/2021 09:06

@Sillysocks998 that’s a really good sign! I’m still not there with eating normally yet but I’m really loving lasagne just now

Mamabearwhere · 13/03/2021 09:38

@leftitlate37 I was awake from 2-4 when I finally nodded off my little one woke up and crawled into bed with me so took another hour to fall back to sleep. I think Mother Nature is definitely preparing me for those sleepless nights!

@Sillysocks998 great sign your appetite is back. Mine is still very beige except for fruit. I made pancakes for the kids this morning and the smell was making me gag. I’m almost 13 weeks and no sign of that second trimester energy and glow 🤣

OP posts:
RadDarwazeh · 13/03/2021 10:29

@Mamabearwhere I am also loving beige and fruit. I got so many apples in the fridge yum yum!

@Nervymama welcome to the group, hope you're feeling less stressed and calmer. I'm already talking with work about when I plan to finish so they can hire someone to cover me.

Got a scan tomorrow girls (window to the womb). Wish me luck! I'll be 11+4

RaeRae84 · 13/03/2021 10:37

@leftitlate37 @Kirky658 you guys amaze me you are able to go for that far. I managed the C25km last night and was so proud of myself 😂 Can't believe how much it changes your body. Sorry to hear about the injuries, I hope they get sorted soon 🤞 mine is just my breathing. I feel like I'm sprinting but obviously just jogging. Mad.
Anyone else just have crazy dreams all the time? Ever since I found out I just have really vivid dreams, normally not nice ones. This morning I woke up in floods of tears. I'm guessing this is just a hormonal thing??
Even though it's not nice that so many people are anxious and worrying but it does make me feel in good company. I was hoping as time went on I would feel better but the waiting in between appointments feels like it's taking forever and with no proper bump or movements I just feel like it's not real again. Even after 3 scans 🙈

Mamabearwhere · 13/03/2021 10:43

@RaeRae84 yes to weird dreams. I’ve woken up multiple times in tears from vivid dreams. Few nights ago I had a dream I had left my young kids alone at home while I drove 4 hours away and I was panicking in my dream about what a terrible mistake I’d made. Woke up sobbing and went to cuddle my babies in their beds. I’ve had soooo many random, scary and weird dreams recently. I also had a dream I had a baby boy and he kept pulling on his willy but it was so stretchy he was able to pull it over his head. WEIRD!!!

OP posts:
bewitchingnight · 13/03/2021 10:45

@RaeRae84 yes insane dreams! Vivid and very complicated, wake up feeling tired from them!

I can't wait for the movement stage it doesn't seem real all the time if that makes sense. Whoever mentioned down the thread about not feeling as happy as expected - I know what you mean. I spent the whole 13 weeks until the scan worrying so it was like I didn't let myself celebrate or feel happy, even though the baby is very much planned and wanted! Seeing they were ok on the scan and then telling our families has made me feel more cheerful about it.

RaeRae84 · 13/03/2021 10:53

It's horrible isn't it. I just want to dream of nice things! My poor DH didn't know what was happening, ended up just hugging me until I could sleep again.
I don't think it feels real, I know it's happening but with nothing to show for it other than tiredness and sore boobs it freaks me out. Being my first it's hard to know what to expect.
I just want to enjoy this journey now but it's a lot more stress than I imagined. Most people with children keep telling me how wonderful they found pregnancy so don't seem to relate to what I'm experiencing. Very useful to have this network to help you through

Mamabearwhere · 13/03/2021 11:18

@RaeRae84 I was one of those who loved being pregnant the first two times and my friends would get so annoyed that I loved pregnancy. In hindsight I had very mild symptoms and full of energy. This time couldn’t be anymore different and I finally get what people meant when they said they disliked pregnancy. It’s amazing how different it can be each time.

Btw is anyone planning on joining their local NCT group? I never joined the first two times but considering this time.

OP posts:
Kirky658 · 13/03/2021 11:20

@raerae84 well done on the C25K lovely! I was meant to take a few days off, had 2 off and just been for a run, 41 mins for 4 miles so I'll take that. Knee was OK till 3 miles in. So day off and strength training tomorrow is in order. With you on the gasping though, it's more when I'm walking up hills for me I used to be so fit 😂 when running I used to be able to run 8 minute miles and I'm so far away from that now. I'm only running to try and prevent putting too much weight on during pregnancy as I'm eating like a pig....and omg the dreams. I've had several where I've woke up crying xx

Bubbles1st · 13/03/2021 11:34

Does anyone think they are and feel ok but the. Seem to be getting ally irrational or getting angry quickly.

When I'm doing my thing or minding my own business I feel great. But already today I've got almost rage over something I know I wouldn't normally and now I feel bad and just want to cry about it. Feel so messed up. Been fine up until apart from a few tears here and there.

Bubbles1st · 13/03/2021 11:35

Oh and I'm having Some very weird and vivid dreams, thankfully no nightmares though.

AdventuresAwait · 13/03/2021 12:04

@Mamabearwhere, what is a local NCT group? Sorry if it's a silly question...!

Mamabearwhere · 13/03/2021 12:20

@AdventuresAwait NCT is the National Childbirth Trust and they run antenatal class in your local area with parents due the same time as you. A lot of people I know join because they get to meet and make friends with other couples in very close proximity to you and most tend to stay in touch after giving birth and as the kids get older plan play dates etc since they’re all the same age. It sounds lovely and I think I definitely should have joined the first two times as that first year of maternity leave can be quite lonely if you don’t have friends with similar age kids in your area. It’s also nice because the partners get involved and meet up together too.

Hope everyone is doing well this week:)

Is anyone still suffering with sickness? I'm over 13 weeks and still throwing up everyday. It's getting me really down.. Had a few days relief last week then came back to the point I was woken from my sleep to throw up last night :(
Hope it starts easing soon

KHR1 · 13/03/2021 12:33

I went to antenatal classes in my last pregnancy and thought they were good (don't think they were NCT just free ones the midwife recommended?). I'm not sure the stuff they cover would be super helpful after the first time but it was amazing to meet other parents with babies very similar in age, we had a WhatsApp group, met up for lunches and some of us went to baby classes together too which was great. 18 months on and I still talk to one of the mums most days!
