@unicornpower
Hey everyone had my 12 week scan. Baby is well and a wriggler. Spent ages at the hopstal tho so I'm really tired. That took the 🎉 out of it all. 😣. But really happy. My EDD is 23rd September. They were happy with baby's progress. Think I'll get a private and hopefully clearer scan by 16 weeks to share with family. I'm telling my sister tomorrow. Then parents for Easter holidays. Was definitely very cute and we've kinda fallen in love. Just wanted to keep seeing our bambino x

Kirky658 · 12/03/2021 18:48

@leftitlate37 glad it's not just me! I've always been a bit prone to injury so knew it was only a matter of time. Hate not being able to run though, makes me sad! Doing a lot of walking with the doggo instead lol.

Congrats to everyone on the lovely scans today! Thank you as well to everyone for their input on my downs results yesterday, feel a bit better about it today tbh, still in the low risk so trying to concentrate on the positives 😍

AdventuresAwait · 12/03/2021 18:49

That's great @Sillysocks998! So lovely x

Maybebaby29 · 12/03/2021 19:19

Congrats to everyone on their scans 😍 I’m so bloody exhausted 🥲 I don’t remember being this tired with my last two!
Just booked babies newborn photos shoot 🙈 can never book to early 🙈 loved having them with my first 2

KHR1 · 12/03/2021 19:22

Congrats to everyone who has had scans in the last few days!

AdventuresAwait · 12/03/2021 19:23

Oooh @Maybebaby29 how exciting, I want to have a newborn photo shoot! It's my first so have no idea where to start. Will have to have a search online.

Squibble84 · 12/03/2021 19:24

@Maybebaby29 I love the idea of a photo shoot! I never did this with DD1 and always wished I had!

CherylLW · 12/03/2021 19:30

@unicornpower I’m so happy for you, such a relief isn’t it when things are all perfect 😍

CherylLW · 12/03/2021 19:33

I feel like I’ve hit a bit of a wall, I’m 15 weeks today and my nausea pretty much went about 2 weeks ago but for the last 4-5 days it’s back and even worse! I’m not actually being sick, just dry gagging (gross) all the time and feel sick pretty much all day. Ive gone off quite a bit of food again too! I know everything we all go through is worth it in the end but I’m just feeling a little sorry for myself 🤦🏻‍♀️

AdventuresAwait · 12/03/2021 19:38

I feel the same @CherylLW, I've felt sick all week. Not vomiting but dry gagging & am off my food. Hoping it will ease at 16 weeks which I read somewhere..

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 19:44

@Kirky658 I missed your post about your results Sad just had a look back, I can understand the worry, as others have said already they are pretty low odds. If we were picking a jelly bean every day and had to find the red one and there was 1:53000 odds of picking a red one it could take 145 years to pick the right colour. Such a tiny chance. The other one 1:2700 would still be just under 8 years of picking, they’re huge numbers. ❤️ Glad you’re feeling better about it now though.

@CherylLW 😱it’s come back?! Have you been taking anti sickness or anything for it?

Cute picture @Maybebaby29 such a great idea.

Most of mine were me looking drained with him sleeping on my shoulder 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Kirky658 · 12/03/2021 19:53

@ftengineerm thank you hun, I like the jelly beans analogy!

CherylLW · 12/03/2021 20:08

@AdventuresAwait I hope you’re right 🙈 I was back to eating more normal foods and feeling better and now boom!!

@FTEngineerM I haven’t been taking anything for it, I don’t really like to take tablets unless absolutely necessary (my own worst nightmare!!) I’m hoping things will start to ease off again just as quick as it come back! 🤞🏼

SP2Bx · 12/03/2021 20:09

@Maybebaby29 I'm definitely not as excitable as I thought I would be because of all the worry, but really hoping like most of you that the 12 weeks scan eases that a little ☺️ It's all I've wanted for so long and now feel like I'm not enjoying it, which I wasn't expecting!

I'm going to pretend I haven't read those comments about sickness coming back!!! I'm still impatiently waiting for it to go 🙈

unicornpower · 12/03/2021 20:24

Hey ladies! Sorry it's late! Scan went well and baby was jumping around, it really hated being poked and prodded and kept jiggling out the way when she was trying to take measurements! All looks great so far and it feels lovely to tell a few people and soak it all up a bit!

Any thoughts on gender? I'm convinced it's a boy!

Congratulations to everyone else! Its so crazy isn't it xxx

Nervymama · 12/03/2021 20:25

Hi Everyone,

Hoping you're all doing ok!

I'm 11+4 today. I'm feeling so nervous about my scan (next week Thursday), and came across your group when searching like a maniac on Google for people who may be feeling similar. To be honest, since my booking appointment I've been stressed out and anxious. I've been told I'm a high risk pregnancy for reasons I won't bore you all with. However the stress and anxiety has meant I've been signed off work until after the first scan. This is probably for the best because I've been doing teacher training and the final weeks of first trimester coincided with children coming back en mass to school, which felt risky anyway because of Covid. I wondered, am I the only one freaking out about/who has freaked out about getting to the scan? The idea of missed miscarriage terrifies me... Thanks.

SP2Bx · 12/03/2021 20:54

Yay @unicornpower ! Lovely scan 🥰

@Nervymama Welcome :) I think that's totally understandable about the school environment, it must be a daunting thing for anybody let alone while pregnant! So it's great they've recognised this stressful situation and removed that for you for now. As for getting to the scan, I can only speak from experience but I felt very safe at both my booking appointment and early scan. Very few people around and lots of safety precautions in place. NHS workers are all tested regularly / vaccinated by now, and everyone else should be in a mask and made to sanitise as they enter a ward so they do everything they can to put you at ease I think. They know the risks and make certain we are safe to get the care we need, I'd just try to take comfort in that!

Mamabearwhere · 12/03/2021 20:56

@Nervymama welcome to the group hun. As you can see this is thread 3 of sept 2021 babies and if you were here a few weeks back we were all mostly a bag of nerves worrying about what will be at the 12 week scan. I think it’s a completely normal reaction plus heightened with the crazy pregnancy hormones were all going through at the moment. Hopefully reading the past few days of comments will give you some reassurance they the scans have gone well. There’s no point of worrying yourself so much, although I know it’s easier said than done but just think about matter of fact that you’re ok today, no sinister signs and tomorrow will be whatever will be. We’re all here for you for support whenever you need it. Even at 3am when some of us have been struggling with insomnia Wink

@Sillysocks998 we are due date twins! Sorry you spent so long there but I’m so glad it went ok ❤️

@unicornpower glad it went well! I love that baby kept moving out of the way 😂

Taybz · 12/03/2021 21:29

Lovely scans! @Nervymama welcome! Once your 12 week scan comes around, you'll be a lot more relaxed - I was an absolute stress basket up to that point!
@CherylLW I was so happy for 2 days that my nausea subsided then it came back full force! The wonder at point it's totally gone 🤔

@unicornpower I think our scans are kind of similar and people have said they think girl but I'm convinced otherwise 😃

Bubbles1st · 12/03/2021 21:42

My sciatica is causing me so many problems right now. It gets to evening and I'm in agony, can barely move. When I do manage to get up it feels like my leg will buckle under me.

I know it's gets worse in pregnancy but I'm only 14 weeks, I can't even begin to imagine how incapacitated I could be later down the line.

I've tried logs of exercises and stretching, massage. No joy. I guess next stop would be chiropractor.

Has any one else experienced increased symptoms in this or previous pregnancy, did anything at home help? 😭

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 21:46

Mine seems to come and go @Bubbles1st it was bad last week and this week I think they’ve popped out of my pelvis so maybe not putting pressure on the disks anymore? Tbh I don’t know though. I foresee it coming back 🤦🏽‍♀️. I don’t take any pain relief for it because it’s so random.

Bubbles1st · 12/03/2021 21:55

It is so random I don't try and take anything either. Even when it does come on it's for seconds; minutes at most. Sit or lay still and it's fine.
