Morning all! I was on the last thread so have just found you lovely ladies and caught up a little bit.
I have my 12 week scan this morning at 11! Eek!!!
Good luck to those having scans today! X
Also a first timer here so relatively clueless on peaks/bottles etc. I have been looking at the Ickle bubba stomp V3 travel system - has anybody used this?

AdventuresAwait · 12/03/2021 08:10

Good luck for your scan today @Babynum1!

MrsMcNtobe · 12/03/2021 08:14

I’ve been awake half the night 😭 Had my flu jag after my scan on Tuesday and felt fine then suddenly yesterday my arm was sore and I felt like I’d been hit by a bus. Also feeling a weird sore/uncomfortable feeling between my chest, I think it’s indigestion but that’s not something I’ve ever really had so I don’t know 😂 at least it’s Friday!

RaeRae84 · 12/03/2021 08:17

Good luck for all the scans today!!

Anyone else now 15 weeks and still have no energy and definitely zero 'glow!? 🙈 Sickness has however stopped but still having to eat more than I would normally. I'm a really active person so for me to be doing nothing after work or on a weekend is alien.

I'm a first timer too and also have no clue on anything! I'm too scared to buy anything now but thought I might get one thing after the 20 week scan and hide it at my mums!

unicornpower · 12/03/2021 08:18

Thanks @AdventuresAwait and @SP2Bx I'm so nervous now! DH was awake early and keep ssaying hes really nervous too so we have a long few hours ahead I think!

@Rach921 I feel exactly the same! It's the perfect way to describe it hahq

Squibble84 · 12/03/2021 08:19

Good luck everyone having scans today!

Regarding buying stuff, I bought SO much last time that I didn’t need, but I think what people will/will not use is so personal! I bought the haaka pump and it was useless but an NCT friend said it was her best purchase!

Some things were definitely essentials though in the first couple of months!

Muslins (multiple uses - baby puke, swaddling, keeping sun off when out in buggy)
Metanium nappy rash cream
Lanolin nipple cream
My baby sling
People to bring around home cooked meals!

My pram broke (bought it second hand) so I’m currently using a cheapy Argos buggy. I’m going to wait until the baby is born until I buy another as it depends on whether my 18 month old is still a buggy napper by then but I’ll probably go for the ICandy Peach again.

Bubbles1st · 12/03/2021 08:19

I can't wait to hear about everyone's scans later. It really does feel like a shared journey and helps pass the time to my next appointment!

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 08:52

@Squibble84 I second what you said about haaka it felt like my nipple was being ripped off. Awful thing😂

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 08:52

God I didn’t realise there were so many scans today 🤰🏽🥳 good luck all!!!!

Kirky658 · 12/03/2021 09:14

Good luck to everyone having scans today.

I'm also a first timer and really feeling like I haven't got a clue! Was chatting with my mum the other day and she said no harm buying little baby grows, getting the nursery decorated etc but to leave the 'big ticket' items as she put it till after the 20 week scan which makes sense. We have loads of time!

bewitchingnight · 12/03/2021 09:25

Good luck for all the scans today!
Similar to a few of you I'm going to leave buying any of the big stuff until after 20 weeks but am going to start trying to work out what I need in advance (also a first timer here).

14 weeks and still absolutely knackered but sickness is down to just a couple of hours in the evening and I don't need the travel bands anymore.

leftitlate37 · 12/03/2021 09:29

good luck on all the scans today people!!
Ah @RaeRae84 - yeah defo NO glow here either at nearly 15 weeks! having alternate days of absolute exhaustion and then feeling a bit better. dragging myself out for exercise at the mo, but its hard work :s
going to read all these tips about what to buy - also first time and totally clueless!
The inlaws are buying stuff apparently and im like what r they buying?! really kind of them, but also want to enjoy getting stuff with OH once we figure out what we need!
realised we actually do have our first piece of clothing - some recommended buying babygros for when the dog was spayed, and we got this cute one that we never used so guess that will come in handy for the baby - it's so small!!!

MrsMcNtobe · 12/03/2021 09:29

@bewitchingnight I was just thinking of writing lists at the back of my diary maybe one for me, one for baby and one for any other bits and pieces

Rach921 · 12/03/2021 09:32

@leftitlate37 same here. Mother in law has started buying bits, she started super early, even though we asked if she could wait until we had the 12 week scan. I have no idea what she’s getting. We haven’t bought anything yet as wanted to get today’s scan done and then plan what we need

Rach921 · 12/03/2021 09:32

Good luck @Babynum1 xx

Noodles4Me · 12/03/2021 09:38

@RaeRae84 I'm 15 weeks (or 16 according to hospital). No glow, and obvious bump now. I've got a ridiculous appetite these days though, could eat anything.

I'm trying to cycle still and do squats and stretches. Suppose I should strengthen the lower back in preparation Confused

bewitchingnight · 12/03/2021 09:39

@MrsMcNtobe I do love a list! Grin

Bubbles1st · 12/03/2021 09:44

@MrsMcNtobe I currently have 2 lists on the go
One is jobs that need doing before baby from making an electric point we have safe and secure to do renewing driving license!
The other so far is what people have already said they will gift us, so we can keep track and if the items don't appear by 20 weeks I can kindly remind them and then go out and buy if needed!

I'm a first timer and it just feels to early to be bogging my head with feeding and sleeping and routines. I am focusing on be healthy and enjoying the calm before the storm and then after 20 weeks I am sure a switch in my head will go on and I'll be super nester and mum in training 🤣

Kirky658 · 12/03/2021 10:07

@Noodles4Me I'm still trying to keep running but I've ended up with a knee injury, which apparently is normal when running when pregnant! Doh. Thankfully nothing a few days off shouldn't solve, just a case of getting the resistance bands out!

Taybz · 12/03/2021 10:28

Good luck to everyone having scans today! I can't wait to see them! 🥰
I've been thinking about getting a few things as well but my family all day it's too early to start baby shopping. I don't know, is it? A pram/travel system is the biggest thing and we'll definitely leave that at least until the shops open. It's all a minefield though. I'm a Ftm and I feel absolutely clueless 😩

Mamabearwhere · 12/03/2021 10:38

Good luck at your scans ladies! Can’t wait to hear how it all went and for some cute scan pictures.

So I couldn’t help myself and I bought one of those nubtechs that some of you ladies did. The results just came back as 85% girl!! The sonographer on Monday predicted boy so now I’m super confused! Do you reckon 85% is high enough to assume correct? I’m so excited either way but if it’s a girl I can literally start bringing out all my baby girl stuff now and sorting through.

Hey ladies, this might be a TMI question but has anyone else got an increase in creamy CM? I seem to have loads every day! It is just white and doesn't smell or anything but I wasn't sure if I should be worried? I feel damp quite alot and am always worried I'm bleeding! Do you see a midwife at your 12w scan? My appt says it's the scan and then the bloods but I'm assuming it's not midwives who do the blood?

Mamabearwhere · 12/03/2021 10:45

@unicornpower yes I have the same and I remember clearly having lots of creamy white CM in my other two pregnancies. Midwifes always reassured me as long as no bad smell and it’s not coloured then it’s normal and not to worry. Mention it at your midwife appointment either way for reassurance.

I didn’t see a midwife at my scan, the sonographer took the bloods there and then

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 10:47

@unicornpower I have that too Blush though it seems to be pretty normal. Double check with the mw tho

At ours the midwife is busy flapping around with testing wee and labelling blood and making sure the right things are asked. The HCA is taking blood whilst all that is going on. Then the midwife has a chat about the bmi/previous births/how you’re feeling and stuff. It was quite intense for mine a flurry of activity 😂

FTEngineerM · 12/03/2021 10:48

@Mamabearwhere what is a nub tech?
