@cheryllw I think we are only going to tell our parents, want to keep it to ourselves 😊

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 12:23

@Kirky658 that’s a good idea, I’m tempted not to tell anyone but I am awful at that also as I get too excited!!

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 12:24

@CherylLW, I did the nub and ramzi package! Results in 2 hours.
They wanted an early scan pic for ramzi and 12 week scan pic for nub theory.

I also spoke to them on the web chat as I had a question and they said nub was very clear to them and very girly (whereas I hadn't even noticed that it was the nub!).

They were 95% sure based on the nub. I thought girl too so we'll see what the scan says in 3 weeks Smile.

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 12:29

@AdventuresAwait how exciting!! I might have to do it just to see what they say 😍

I would say 95% means 100% but maybe they can’t say 100% just incase!

I am counting down the days until my gender scan, I’ll be 17+1

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 12:29

@Kirky658, nub tech make predictions based on the nub and/or ramzi theory. Just have to send a scan pic.

9.99 for nub theory.
13.99 for both.
Results in 24 hours (or 2 hours of you pay a little more).

I googled them after seeing @maybebaby29 post about it. They're on Instagram too.

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 12:32

@CherylLW, I was intrigued to see what nub tech said too! Both my nub and ramzi results were girl. They give the percentage of their confidence and it says they refund if they don't feel they can tell.

I'll be 17+1 for my scan too! Exciting x

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 12:34

@Kirky658 and @CherylLW, we have decided on our names. Quite certain although you never know, they could change! We have told parents and my sister but will keep it to ourselves otherwise.

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 12:35

@AdventuresAwait I’ve just done the nub package, I’ve done it for 24 hours so now it’s just trying to be patient and wait!

I’ve had a couple of people who guess based on theories etc look and they both said girl so will see what comes back with this one. X

Mamabearwhere · 11/03/2021 12:45

@Bigdreamer9 I went for the Koala Babycare Nursing V Pillow on Amazon. Not too expensive but super comfy

@adventuresawait that does sound intruiging! I'm kinda excited to have the scan and find out there and then as it's something to look forward to if that makes sense!

Haha my mum said before I was born I was 100% a different name then they saw me and decided it didn't fit! Lol!

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 12:54

@CherylLW, exciting!

@Kirky658, that could happen but there's so few names we both like that I'm not sure what else! We love both names so much but yes, have to see when they're born!

Jay3004 · 11/03/2021 13:11

@AdventuresAwait how exciting! 95% is high as well! I’ve got a gender scan booked for 4 weeks time so we’ll see if they’re right.

SP2Bx · 11/03/2021 13:23

@CherylLW I had an internal scan at 8+6 which showed baby like that (on their back) and it was proper wriggling around even then!!! I’ve attached it here, baby was so tiny - can’t wait to see how they’ve grown next week 🙊

We’re pretty decided on names for either gender but aren’t going to tell anybody - although I’d like us to come up with a couple more options for the very reason of baby just not “looking” like whatever we’ve chosen!!!

As for announcing, we told parents and siblings the day I did the pregnancy test 😂 I figured I’d want their support whatever happened. But I can’t wait to tell friends and extended family, then I’m sure a social media post will follow but I’m less bothered about that!

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 13:25

@SP2Bx so cute, the back scans are funny but so cute!

Kirky658 · 11/03/2021 13:29

Hey ladies jus lt had my NT results letter it says not in the higher chance group for these conditions. Downs 1 in 2700 and Edwards or Pataus 1 in 53000. Is that good???? I've seen others with so much higher downs scores I'm a bit worried...

SP2Bx · 11/03/2021 13:59

@Kirky658 To me that’s still very low risk, even though you might have seen lower before. Try to think about the context of what that means, rather than comparing to others. I know it’s easier said than done x

Kirky658 · 11/03/2021 14:28

@sp2bx I know, I'm just worried that it is higher than I thought it would be for my age.

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 14:34

@AdventuresAwait I ended up messaging the nub people and upgrading to find out within 2 hours and got the nub and ramzi theory.

It’s just come back and the nub is 80% girl and the ramzi is 75% girl! I’m excited!! Will just have to wait now until the 27th to find out for sure ❤️
The information they give in your result is really interesting too!

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 14:35

@Kirky658 I didn’t have any extra tests but the nhs letter put me a low risk, I don’t understand the wording so going to talk to my midwife at the 16 week scan. I’d you’re worried you could call the maternity clinic just to get their thoughts? Put your mind at rest?

I would say your results are pretty good odds

Kirky658 · 11/03/2021 14:40

@cheryllw this was just the standard NHS nt measurement plus the bloods. Someone on another group I'm on is older than me and has a 1:10,000 odds. It's just upset me a bit tbh x

CherylLW · 11/03/2021 14:49

@Kirky658 I can understand your upset but I would really see if you can chat with a midwife if you can to see their thoughts.
I keep looking at my letter but don’t make much sense so trying not to overthink and worry too much...(easier said than done). I’m just taking low risk as a good thing xx

Noodles4Me · 11/03/2021 15:12

@Kirky658 my result was 1:2500 on NHS for downs. I'm sure all due to age of course (39) but the NIPT put it at 1:140,000 so I think your odds are very likely good, especially if the NT was good too.

Easy to say, but try relax and check more at future scans. And of course midwife may have something to say

AdventuresAwait · 11/03/2021 15:51

Yay @CherylLW! Looking to forward to hearing if the gender scans show them as correct! I'll report back when I find out Smile.

Kirky658 · 11/03/2021 16:06

@cheryllw @Noodles4Me I think I'll speak to DH tonight about it. He's a scientist so will likely be able to explain it to me in a way that calms me, he normally can. My neighbour had a result of 1 in 100,000 she's just told me. I'm 27 so I can't see what has made the result that way. My midwife is a bit of a waste of time sometimes, she's lovely but often forgets to phone me back. My FIL mentioned last week there was a case of spina bifida in his side of the family, his sisters daughter was born with it, and I raised this with her and she was quite blasé about it x

Maybebaby29 · 11/03/2021 16:08

@Kirky658 I think they are good odds! It’s hard not to worry about it isn’t it but same as a previous poster said I’d have a chat to your midwife if your worried.
It’s so exciting everyone going to nub tech I’m looking forward to finding out if they are right for us all!
