Is anyone else having constant hot flushes? I feel sweaty and flushed all the time! 🥵

strangerontheinternet · 12/02/2021 16:11

Early scan yesterday went well saw little bean and heartbeat! @Mrsserenalewis no booking appt yet waiting for an email from midwife to be allocated a midwife then presume they'll book me in hope it's soon It feels like time is going so slow already!

XNicoleX · 12/02/2021 17:47

XNicoleX · 12/02/2021 17:49

Yes, even before taking pregnancy test! May be it started at 3rd week

Mrsserenalewis · 13/02/2021 07:03

@strangerontheinternet bet it was lovely and so reassuring to see baby. Hopefully the wait won’t be long.

Anyone suffering with the sickness but not actually being sick. I want to fast forward the next 5 weeks. X

@Kirky658 @Mrsserenalewis all went well! Saw my little blobs tiny heartbeat!! I’m just feeling so relieved! Thank you for checking in ❤️ Hope everyone is doing well today - all I want to do this morning is drink orange juice 😅 xx

LauraDanxx · 13/02/2021 09:59

Hi Everyone, congratulations to you all. Can I join too? I’m 6 +6 weeks. I’ve had my booking appointment which was quite overwhelming, has anyone had any experience with the extra tests you are offered Nuchal scan? I have been told you have to have a blood test on the same day as your 12 week scan? I have been getting quite a lot of period like pains most days, is this normal? X

Mrsserenalewis · 13/02/2021 12:40

@Oct21ia this your craving 😂
Glad all went well.

Welcome @LauraDanxx a lot has changed since my last as with lockdown as well.

What’s that scan for? Makes sense to have bloods same time as scan to save the amount of time in hospital x

@Mrsserenalewis Thank you. The midwife said it’s an optional test to check the folds in the baby’s neck and then blood test to check for Down syndrome. Did you have this with your last baby? X

PineappleSun · 13/02/2021 13:29

Just had my early scan, just one bean (phew) and a heartbeat Smile

@Mrsserenalewis my booking appt is not til 12 March when I’ll be 10w+6d or 11w according to my LMP and even further along from when I ovulated. Was panicking my scan would be really late too but it’s on the 23 March.

@LauraDanxx welcome! It used to be that they did your bloods and weighing at the booking appointment at the hospital but now they do it with the scan as the booking appt is by phone (at least in my trust). The screening is nothing to worry about, it’s part of the bloods and scan process so can seem a lot from the scary booklet of doom you get but really is fine.

I am feeling HORRIBLE. Only been sick a couple of times but got that horrid acidic queasy hangover feeling most of the time. Also cannot stop eating! I lost my appetite w DC1&2 and didn’t really gain much during pregnancy. But I’m now troughing constantly to fend off the nausea and am considering digging out my maternity wear at 7 bloody weeks!

LauraDanxx · 13/02/2021 14:47

@Mrsserenalewis @Aozora13 Thank you both. I had my booking phone call at 5 weeks and was on the phone for an hour to the midwife and was given loads of information about the optional tests at the same time as the scan, was all a bit overwhelming. I have my 12 week scan on 22nd March, I am very hard to get blood from and it’s been worrying me and didn’t want the blood test to overshadow the first time seeing the baby. I’ve booked a private scan in 2 weeks for reassurance. X

PineappleSun · 13/02/2021 16:22

@Mrsserenalewis Not quite, the bean is measuring slightly bigger than I thought so its moved from the 27th to 25th Sept, might move back again though. Morning sickness hit me like a truck at 5.5 weeks, no actual vomiting but 24 hour nausea, couldn't do anything. I managed a week of it and got some cyclizine from the doc which has made it much more manageable.

@LauraDanxx i've got a booking phonecall instead of a face to face appt as well so its good to know they still go through everything even if they're not going to do bloods and a urine test.

LauraDanxx · 13/02/2021 16:36

@PineappleSun She was very good and went through everything with me over the phone. It’s just a lot to take on board. How was your scan today? We’re you able to see much? I have one when I’m nearly 9 weeks xx

Moominmiss · 13/02/2021 17:36

@Mrsserenalewis not had my booking appointment yet. It’s booked for 25th when I’ll be 9+4. The 12 week scan letter should follow a few days after that!

PineappleSun · 13/02/2021 18:41

@LauraDanxx it was fab, i'm still riding the high. We could see the foetus, the yolk sac and the foetal pole, I even got to see the heart fluttering away when she zoomed in. She measured crown to rump and took the heart rate and sent the photos and a video online. It was Ultrasound Direct if anyone is thinking of booking, they were really good, we were both impressed.

LauraDanxx · 13/02/2021 19:39

@PineappleSun Wow that’s amazing. X

When did they book your scan. It’s good they are close but spread out. Gives you something to look forward to. I’ll be 8 going on 9 weeks at mine. 26th February. Guessing they will book my scan and bloods then xx

Who’s going to find out the sex this time. We are booking a blood test at 14weeks to find out (last time they said boy at 16weeks and girl at 20weeks with scans)

Who’s having to working during lockdown, how you coping.

What pregnancy is this. I have 3 children already (Rio 15, Theo 12, sophia 7) this is my 5th pregnancy.

Where are you all from.
I’m from Hertfordshire

Xx

I didn’t find out the sex w DC1. Thought it would be a surprise, except I was already so surprised by actually having a baby I didn’t really care! So found out at 20 weeks w DC2 and plan to again this time. I already have 2 DDs (4 & 2) so am kind of assuming it will be another girl but happy either way! This will be our last DC so looking forward to completing our family (until I can persuade DH to get a dog!).

We’re in SE London. I’m not-very-successfully juggling working full time (WFH), homeschooling and morning sickness!
