Ahh all these naughty babies! Only a small percentage of babies are still breech at term so hopefully they will move... i havent asked what position mine is in but i can feel it and i think hes head down already. Getting lightening crotch quite often now too 🥴

Welcome @mamamalt and congratulations! Yes it is my third too.
I agree above, each pregnancy is so different this has been my hardest but i am getting older each time lol

Mrsserenalewis · 17/08/2021 21:10

Baby turned between week 32-33. Thankfully.
No clue how I’m meant to make it another 6weeks x

Mine had been breech up until 33 weeks then a growth scan at 34 weeks showed he’d turned head down!

Not that it makes much difference as I have a c section booked for just over 2 weeks time.

Struggling SO much now with back ache and just feeling pretty fed up now, especially with GD and injecting now. Just want him here already!

Aozora13 · 18/08/2021 08:10

That’s great news @Mrsserenalewis! I am currently completely over being pregnant, and entirely unprepared for the baby to actually arrive!

@Moominmiss wow 2 weeks is not long at all! Are you feeling ready?

I’m in a quandary - looking through my notes from my 34 week appt yesterday it says we discussed birth plans. We 100% did not! Not sure if it matters or not though - I don’t have an actual “birth plan” but mainly I want to give birth in the MLU if possible and can’t remember at what point and how I need to be referred.

Moominmiss · 18/08/2021 08:31

@Aozora13 I think I’m ready! Well I have bags packed and I know we’ve bought everything we need. Mentally ready is another thing. I’m desperate to meet him, but am now terrified of the steroid injections I need to have a few days before, and of the c section. You’d think after 3 previous sections I’d be calmer, but no!

I think with regards to your notes saying you’d discussed a birth plan, I’d maybe give your midwife or midwife team a call and just say how you’d noticed it says this but don’t recall having spoken about it. However your only wish is for xyz so do you actually need to have anything in place for that to hopefully happen.

I couldn’t imagine having to inject every date. The positive it you have A date you can’t countdown to.

The last bit always seems to be longer 🙈 x

How is everyone doing? I have a c-section booked for next week (39 weeks) due to late diagnosis of GD & large baby.

The way I'm feeling though I'm beginning to think he won't be in until next week...the pressure down below is unreal!

GJ02 · 15/09/2021 19:18

I had my little boy on the 7th, 3 weeks early Smile

Kiza · 15/09/2021 19:32

@LunaDreams ditto, section booked for early Oct due to large baby and GD. Today's 36 week scan showed him as 7lb 11oz, he's been big since 20 weeks and his dad was massive when born. Opted out of induction due to hearing so many GD ladies needing emergency sections.
How you feeling about yours?

LunaDreams · 16/09/2021 07:18

Congratulations @GJ02. Hope he is settling into the world well :)

@Kiza yeah I went for c-section over induction for exactly the same reasons. I wa initially quite shocked as only had growth scan & GD diagnosis at 37 weeks but feel OK about it now. Slightly nervous about recovery but that scares me less than thought of being induced with a big baby! How are you feeling?

Monstermunch87 · 16/09/2021 07:50

38 weeks today and getting more and more impatient! Hurry up baby!!!
Currently spending most of my time managing feet and hand swelling
Is anyone else trying to squeeze in a sneaky flu jab before the baby arrives?

Kiza · 16/09/2021 08:55

@LunaDreams I know about 7 women who have had emergency c sections and they've all said if you follow the advice the healing is so much better than you think. I've had scans from 7 weeks due to IVF and this (not so little) chunk has been 3 weeks ahead of himself the whole way through so we always knew he was big, just hoped his growth would slow down! Doubt the newborn clothes will fit him 😆

@Monstermunch87 yep I am, have mine tomorrow when I'll be 36+3.

GJ02 · 16/09/2021 09:32

@LunaDreams @Kiza I had an emergency Caesarian after 3 days of labour and getting to 9.5cm so the doctors had to do a lot a pulling to get him out. Everything you read about c sections is generally true as it is major surgery but I have a few tips if they help?

Arnica cream and arnica tablets. The cream especially seems to have worked for me.

Massive pants as high as they'll go, help me feel supported. Or my pregnancy bump band.

Hold your scar when you sneeze/cough.

Tie a dressing gown cord to the bottom of your bed to help pull yourself up. This was the biggest shock for me. I also use my pregnancy pillow for support in the night.

I have 2 nappy caddies, one upstairs and one downstairs with everything in it so I don't need to move anywhere. I change him on the dining table or on the bed (with me sat down) so we're level.

Sorry if some of this is really obvious. This is my first baby and no one gave me any advice for when the baby is actually here Confused

LunaDreams · 16/09/2021 10:04

No it's all very useful thanks @GJ02! With the arnica cream when did you start applying it to the wound? How have you been finding pain post op?

GJ02 · 16/09/2021 10:44

@LunaDreams the first few days were bad as you adjust to not being able to do what you could. Day to day is fine but at night when I'm tired and taking less regular pain relief it is harder. My bed is also quite high so getting in and out wasn't easy. I'm day 9 now and I get an occasional pulling feeling if I'm not careful but the swelling and bruising is almost gone.

I've heard since (from friends) that if you ask for additional pain relief in hospital they might send you home with something other than paracetamol and ibuprofen. Also they may give you a sort of tubey grip for your stomach. I'm sure this is all hospital dependant but I found if you don't ask you don't get. I wasn't preparing for a c section so was a bit clueless after as to what I needed.

GJ02 · 16/09/2021 10:59

I started applying the arnica cream the day after to my stomach and underneath my scar where I had the most bruising. My midwife removed my dressing on day 2 which felt scary but really isn't. I haven't put the cream directly on the scar, just shower and pat dry. One side of the scar is tighter than the other as it's where they ended the stitches.

I haven't seen my vagina in so long I don't know what it 'normally' looks like anymore anyway. But the scar seems neat with only a raised bit to one side.
