Did they scan you because of the size of him at 20 weeks or routine growth scans in your area?

I ask because I had a consultant do my 20 week scan as they needed to check him over and he was greater than the 90th on everything except femur length (75) but when midwife measured me this week she got 27cm at 28 weeks. Although I'm a multip shes booked me in for 31 weeks to keep an eye on me lol

Also anyone who is due Anti D I had that and whooping cough this week and both were completely fine, I havent had anti D injection for 11 years but it was much less painful than I remembered.

Hope everyone is doing okay in this heat, sleep is not my strong point atm!

Kiza · 18/07/2021 20:48

Hya, 20 week scan was standard anomaly scan. I was due a 28 week scan due to being under consultant care as I'm an older mum (40 years old) so because he's been measuring big at all 3 scans now they will be monitoring it closely.

How are you ladies managing in this heat? I'm struggling at night time and any time I need to leave the house (currently sat in pants and the loosest fitting top I can find as bras have now given me itchy spots under my boobs 😁

Aozora13 · 18/07/2021 21:47

I am hot, hurty and hormonal! This is my third time of being Very Pregnant over the summer, I wish my good eggs popped out in the summer so I could have spring babies but Mother Nature had other ideas. Currently in a tepid bath after spending most of the day with my feet in the paddling pool!

Good luck to any teachers counting down to the end of term now - schools finish the end of this week here so I guess it’s not long now. I have 4 weeks left at work woo hoooooo

LunaDreams · 19/07/2021 14:09

@Aozora13 I'm very jealous of the paddling pool! Such a good idea.

I am generally trying to avoid leaving he house and have a fan permanently on me so just about surviving but very grumpy. Especially as baby has decided to move and wedge himself under my ribs 🙃

GJ02 · 19/07/2021 14:26

@LunaDreams I feel your pain. I have feet under my ribs and a bum pushing up on my stomach. I haven't been able to sit comfortably in a chair for a few days now. I will also never take lying on my back for granted again 🥴

At least it's meant to rain here next week!

Mrsserenalewis · 19/07/2021 18:28

I have 1 and half days left. Then thankfully the summer holiday. I do go back to work from the 1st - 13th September before my maternity starts. So grateful that I get the summer holidays off.
Not coping in this heat.
I’m not sure what position little lady is in. She seems to be all over the place, though I am enjoying seeing the bigger movements.

These emotions and hormones. All emotional saying good bye to the reception year group 🙈🙈

How are you all coping xx

OP posts:
Kiza · 21/07/2021 19:03

@Mrsserenalewis I've just had my first pregnant tearful emotional hissy fit at my partner. Consecutive nights of rubbish sleep, swollen legs that are painful, just had a shower and then sweating again, can't get out the car, nothing fits me anymore, having to now ask for help (which I hate and feel I'm losing my independence), partner washed the dishes but left the kitchen floor soaked so I worried I was going to slip etc etc, the list was endless that I just snapped ans cried and cried. I'm normally a very emotionally regulated person and he's never seen me like that before 😆🤦🏼‍♀️ afterwards I said 'I think there's going to be more days like this' 😁

Mrsserenalewis · 22/07/2021 07:20

When everyone starting to pack the hospital bag?

@Kiza oh no them days are horrible aren’t they 🙈🙈
Looking back it’ll make you giggle. I feel like a women processed 😂😂

Those who work in school or have started maternity. How you feeling. X

I'm feeling like a whale now, I keep getting cramp in my legs and feet, my hips hurt consistently every night, I struggle to walk far, I've had sinusitis the last week and still cant smell much (except the dogs sprats 🤣) for 2 weeks now when my cold started. Just one big sweaty mess.

I love spending time with my girls but I wont be sad for this summer holidays to be over, thank god this is my last baby. 🥵

I’m more happy about the no school run and work. Trying to plan two things a week to make the holidays go quicker so baby come quicker.

Wish midwife appointments were more frequent.
Feels a lot cooler today thankfully x

Anyone else struggling with breathlessness. X

OP posts:
LunaDreams · 25/07/2021 13:12

@Mrsserenalewis I am! It has really hit me in past few days. Also finding it hard to find a comfortable sitting position on sofa which doesn't feel like my lungs are being totally squished by baby. Can't believe I still have best part of 2 months to go Confused

Aozora13 · 25/07/2021 15:22

Yeah me too. My lungs are still a bit borked post covid but the baby really isn’t helping things!

I’m very grateful the weather has calmed down a bit though, I woke up this morning and for once was cheering the grey skies and rain!

Mrsserenalewis · 26/07/2021 14:39

This is what I saw when I got out the bath today and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror 🙈😂 x

Mrsserenalewis · 26/07/2021 14:45

@LunaDreams @Aozora13 I was Googling about it. It says once baby descends you’ll be able to breathe again. For FTM it can happen from 36 weeks but then I continue to really those whom aren’t first timers this could happen a few days before labour or just before 🙈🙈 x

OP posts:
Aozora13 · 26/07/2021 14:57

@Mrsserenalewis I’ve pretty much resigned myself to being a breathless nauseous mess until the baby comes! That orangutan is very much me atm also. I’ve reached the point where I can’t get up silently, it’s all huffing and puffing and getting stuck on the sofa!

Mrsserenalewis · 26/07/2021 15:26

Same here. My husband keeps asking why I’m huffing. I’m keep having to explain I’m just breathing x

Hope all your ladies are doing well? The cooler weather has been a welcome relief for sure!!
My baby is still transverse at 30 weeks, I know there's still plenty of time for him to turn but wondered if anyone has any tips/ experience on this? He's been transverse since approx 20 weeks- rarely does he move to another position.

LunaDreams · 01/08/2021 20:13

@Kiza I've got no experience as this is my first baby but my midwife talked to me the other day about getting a birth/yoga ball.to help get baby in good position. Also Spinning Babies website. Might be worth trying them?

LunaDreams · 01/08/2021 20:14

Also, I was going to ask when everyone is thinking of getting their hospital bags ready?? Im almost 32 weeks but still feels quite soon!

Kiza · 01/08/2021 20:18

@LunaDreams I looked on the spinning babies website but looks like you have to pay.. feel like I'm already paying for so many things. May give some YouTube videos a try, just wondered if anyone had any tried and tested methods ☺️
I'm thinking of getting the bags packed for 34 weeks?? I'd be getting too ansty if I left it any later!

mamamalt · 01/08/2021 20:25

@anniee8ava
That sounds exactly like me!! Is this your third?!
My hips are horrendous my the end of the day and so painful at night.

I'm going to look at the spinning babies website too. Baby was head down at 28 weeks... now at 31 head is up under my ribcage 😑

I've been lurking on this thread for ever, just joining in now as we had awful time with screening tests and stuff! Due baby number 3 on 30th September! 👋
Hope you're all feeling OK and getting lots of rest.

I heard the spinning baby website has good ideas for turning. I’m going to have a look. Had a 4d scan yesterday and little lady is still breech. So going to give it a try too. We had to rebook scan as baby was being shy. Hopefully she’ll move before the next scan (9th Aug) x

Hi everyone hope you’re doing ok. I’ve apparently reached the “weeping at the Olympics” stage of pregnancy. Had a 32 week scan to check my placenta today. Baby was in the way so got to enjoy dildo cam for an internal scan. It’s moved but not as much as they’d like so fingers crossed for my next scan at 36 weeks!

@Kiza @Mrsserenalewis I don’t have any experience of turning babies I’m afraid, hopefully you still have plenty of time for them to start cooperating?

@LunaDreams haven’t even thought about hospital bags yet… but I’m finishing work in a couple of weeks so will get into baby mode then. Should probably see if I can find all my baby clothes from previous DC too!

Welcome @mamamalt sounds like you’ve had a stressful time, hopefully the rest of your pregnancy will be uneventful. I’m also expecting DC3 - was thinking by this time I’d seen it all but no, pregnancy is still full of surprises (and not always nice ones…)
