😍😍 Amazing photos- I can’t wait until my scan!! I had a rough day yesterday (super emotional all day!) but feeling much better today. I think we will find out- I’m too excited not too!

Mrsserenalewis · 03/03/2021 05:34

Got my bloods appointment Monday. I can’t wait to actually have my maternity notes.

Struggle to click I’m pregnant. Still feels surreal. X

@Mrsserenalewis we’re having a nipt test next week and will opt to find out the sex from that so only a few weeks until I’ll know! Just praying we get a good result from that test.

We won’t start buying anything until we hopefully have a good 20 week scan.

X

Moominmiss · 03/03/2021 08:33

@Mrsserenalewis I know what you mean about actually having your maternity notes. I got mine at my booking appointment last week and it all feels much more real now!

Kate105 · 03/03/2021 08:33

My notes are online on an app so not quite as exciting!

Aozora13 · 03/03/2021 10:41

I’m not having my booking appt until 12th March by which time I’ll be 10w6d! Then scan on 24th. I’m still debating getting a private scan but would involve riding a covid wagon and I’ve been generally avoiding public transport (WFH). I got so sick last year I’ve become a bit paranoid. Plus still feeling absolutely wretched and disinclined to leave the house. Sigh. Hopefully will ease up soon, think it was around 13-14 weeks previously.

So lovely to see everyone’s little beans!

MrsTD88 · 03/03/2021 10:49

@Aozora13 my scan is on 24th too! Only 3 weeks to go.

Monstermunch87 · 03/03/2021 11:13

Mine is 26th! So excited, the next 3 weeks are going to drag by!

Hope everyone is feeling okay today x

Mrsserenalewis · 03/03/2021 17:01

@Moominmiss baby brain but what is a nipt test. When do you have it

I have to collect mine when I get my bloods done. My booking appointment was via a call 🙈

@Kate105 I’ve never heard of it being online. That’s very frustrating. Can you access it anytime you like. Maybe the 12 week scan will help to make it more real

@Aozora13 on the positive you won’t have a long wait between your booking and scan appointments
I highly recommended private scan but completely understand why you wouldn’t want to take the risk.
Ahh don’t say 13-14 weeks, I’m going by 12weeks for the sickness to go 🙈

We all seem to have our scans around the same week. Mines 23rd. I’m excited to see all your pictures and share your excitement.

@Mrsserenalewis so a nipt test is a private scan and blood test that is a lot more accurate at testing for chromosome issues.
As I’m a little older (38) my nhs screening is likely to return a high risk result. The nipt blood test extracts fetal dna from my blood sample and so the result while not absolutely conclusive is far more accurate. Then because it’s testing the actual fetal dna they are able to tell you the gender if you want and this is 100% accurate.

So that I’m having next week when I’ll be 12 weeks, although it can be done any time from 10 weeks onwards.

Then my actual nhs scan is booked for 22nd but I’ll be nearer 14 weeks by then.

Kate105 · 03/03/2021 17:20

My scan is that week too! I’m the 26th. Cannot wait!

Actually the app is quite good because it means I have access whenever I want. Not that there’s anything that interesting in there just yet! I keep checking but they haven’t updated my bloods/urine results from my booking appt but assuming no news is good news!

Good day for me today- managed to have breakfast and everything 😂🙌🏻

MrsTD88 · 03/03/2021 17:28

@Kate105 it took a week for my blood results to be added to my Maternity Notes app if that helps. Sorry can't remember when your booking appointment was.

Mrsserenalewis · 04/03/2021 05:24

@Moominmiss how long do you have to wait for the results. What kind of things do they look for.
It’s nice you have scans so close. Get to see baby more

At least you ladies won’t misplace your notes being online xx

It’s been over a week now but not massively bothered- they did say they would phone if there was anything important. Just want to be nosey!

Moominmiss · 04/03/2021 09:30

@Mrsserenalewis the results from the nipt should come through within 7 days so not too long to wait.

They test more accurately for the 3 main trisomies. Some can also test for some microdeletions, things like turners, and prader willi syndrome etc.

Mrsserenalewis · 06/03/2021 05:16

@Moominmiss how much was it privately x

Hey everyone I haven’t posted in a while. Just checking in to see how everyone is?
I had some spotting last week which really worried me, I’ve had spotting in my last two pregnancies but always much earlier (at 5 or 6 weeks) so we went to EPU for a scan. Thankfully all was fine which has put my mind at rest. My 12 week scan is on 22nd i think a few of you have scans around this date too?
I’m still feeling so tired I honestly can’t wait for the 2nd trimester I hope I get more energy then

crobo87 · 06/03/2021 15:59

Hi everyone! I'm due baby number 3 somewhere between 15th & 22nd September. Waiting for my next scan to confirm,
My daughters birthday is also the 22nd

Moominmiss · 06/03/2021 16:04

@Mrsserenalewis we’ve paid £400 for the nipt. But in the end we just booked the harmony one as it’s closest to us.

If we get inconclusive results from the one next week then we’ll go to a different clinic in London and have either the panorama or SAFE done, and the cost of those is £500.

Monstermunch87 · 07/03/2021 09:05

Hi everyone. @Cisco2 I am the same, I am tired all the time! Yesterday I walked into a door 😂 really hoping that this improves soon as back to work proper next week!!

Does anyone have any websites or books they would recommend? I feel like I want to know more but I’m not sure where to start

Mrsserenalewis · 10/03/2021 05:38

Welcome @crobo87. Have you had your 12 week scan?

@Cisco2 it’s reassuring having an earlier scan. Also looking forward to second trimester. So drained.

Ladies two weeks then scan time. Needed x

Hi everyone, hope you’re doing ok. I’m still sick as a dog, but at least feel like I’m getting some energy back. Had a bit of drama this week after some red spotting when I wiped on Tuesday afternoon. Phoned the GP who was so unbelievably kind and reassuring, and got referred to the EPU for a scan yesterday. Thankfully all fine, baby looking good, although I’ve aged about 10 years in the process. Will defo be back on knicker watch at least until my scan on 24th! And got my booking appt tomorrow on the phone. Starting to think I might actually be having another baby!

It’s lovely so many of us have scans around the same time 😊

Aozora13 · 11/03/2021 16:55

@Monstermunch87 my fav pregnancy book is Expecting Better by Emily Oster. It’s not so much on the practical side but looks at all the research behind pregnancy guidance so you can feel like you’re making informed choices.

Monstermunch87 · 13/03/2021 13:43

Brilliant, I had a look at a few preview pages and it looks really interesting. Thanks :)
