Definitely got a bump! I can’t believe how big it has gotten so quickly. Not sure in the movement front- sometimes I think I might have felt something but then I think it might just be indigestion. Particularly as I now know I have an anterior placenta

GJ02 · 15/05/2021 13:13

@Monstermunch87 I also have an anterior placenta so difficult to say with certainty but I have started feeling something like a bubble popping low down for the last week. It's my first baby so I was expecting "flutters" not a pop and just thought it was wind! But the more it happens the more I think it must be the baby.

Had my scan last week and we're having a boy. Just relieved he was healthy after a bad stomach bug saw me lose 6lbs in 4 days. Baby completely unaffected and just leached anything I did have off me.

Kiza · 15/05/2021 14:03

@Mrsserenalewis I've had a bump from about 10 weeks! I'm still only 18 and is a very obvious bump, had to buy maternity jeans around 13 weeks as just couldn't get in my trousers or jeans anymore :)
Felt some popping early on last week which was lovely and have my 20 week scan in a couple of weeks too.

Kiza · 15/05/2021 14:03

Oops meant to say 18 weeks! Not 18 years old! I'm actually 40 and it's my first baby 😄

Mrsserenalewis · 17/05/2021 06:13

I have an anterior too. I would suggest looking for moment on the sides first. Like trapped wind or butterflies.
I’ve been feeling them since 15 week. It may be because it’s not my first pregnancy.
Many don’t feel movement until 24 weeks

I have invested in the stretchy trousers for work. Or going for flowy dresses xx

Fab news about everyone’s 20 week scans!

I’m definitely missing seeing this little one on a screen. It’s a loooong stretch until birth now!

I will be having the gestational diabetes test at 28 weeks, can’t say I’m looking forward to it though.

I have my next midwife appointment at 25 weeks and have my first main consultant appointment today.

I’m 22 weeks now and even with an anterior placenta baby is super active. My partner felt him move from the outside a couple of days ago for the first time. In the mornings when I lie there after waking up is when I get the biggest movements. In fact I’m sure if it wasn’t dark and under the covers I’d even be able to see some of the bigger movements.

Mrsserenalewis · 17/05/2021 11:38

I have to have the gestational test too this time. I heard you need to fast 12 hour before?

I have a midwife appointment at 25weeks to talk about it. I’m going to ask if they could also test for OC as I’m already itchy. I had it with my last two

May book private scans to break up the time. The 19 weeks left is too long to wait

These Braxton hicks are ridiculous this time around. Joys of being on my feet most of the day.

Good news we have decided on little lady name. Currently buying 3-6months clothes xx

I am 23 weeks today, due on the 14th of September with a little girl :)
I started feeling little pops at 18.5 weeks and now am feeling fully fledged kicks, my boyfriend felt her kick for the first time on the weekend which was lovely. Is anyone else feeling really drained by the time it get to 4pm? I wake up with lots of energy but feel puffy and out of breath by the afternoon.

anniee8ava · 18/05/2021 17:36

@Trying4baby2021 I am exactly the same, it's so nice not to feel I need to sleep by 12 like the first trimester but I'm definitely feeling exhausted by 4pm. I usually fall asleep every evening atm when lying down with my daughter.

Food out this baby is rhesus positive and I'm negative so will need the anti d injection wahhh. Managed to dodge it last time as youngest dd is also rh neg. I hate having injections!

LunaDreams · 18/05/2021 19:25

@anniee8ava I am rhesus negative and have to have the injections. They're not too bad! Try and get it in your leg (rather than arm) I'd you can. I found it better that way, barley felt a thing

LunaDreams · 18/05/2021 19:26

Anyone else finding that they are getting full really quickly nowadays? I get really hungry but fill up so quickly I rarely get through a meal!

Kate105 · 18/05/2021 19:48

Hahahahaha @LunaDreams I can't stop eating! I'm totally the opposite 😂🙈

anniee8ava · 18/05/2021 20:11

Ahhh poor you too! 10 years ago when I had my first one midwife gave the injection in the leg and one in the bum.

A lot of midwives give them in the arms now though, I prefer leg... my community midwife is quite old school so fingers crossed!

I also have a big appetite im always hungry I wish it was the opposite!

MrsTD88 · 18/05/2021 22:21

Hey everyone. Had my 20 week scan yesterday but they couldn't get all the measurements so back again next week. My placenta is anterior but this is second baby and been feeling some strong movements which is exciting. We've also picked our girl's name, can't believe we're over half way now!

@Mrsserenalewis I am having the GTT too at 28 weeks. I have a leaflet from the hospital which says I shouldn't eat or drink from midnight the night before the test. It is fine to drink tap water while fasting though. You can only eat after the second blood sample is taken. X

Mrsserenalewis · 27/05/2021 09:11

How is everyone. The weeks are going to slowly now 🙈

MF1981 · 27/05/2021 09:29

Hey! I had my 20 week scan yesterday. Babies were lying a bit awkward but the sonographer got everything she needed and all looked fine. One baby still slightly bigger than the other and one low lying to the left anterior placenta whereas the other is fundal left. We found out we’re having a girl and a boy so absolutely over the moon!

Monstermunch87 · 30/05/2021 10:10

22 weeks now and feeling strong kicks a few times a day which is a real relief! It’s got to the point where the husband can feel them too now which is lovely. Are the kicks going to get stronger and stronger because they already are quite intense?!

Now I am obsessively reading reviews of everything. So much stuff to decide on!

anniee8ava · 30/05/2021 11:58

@Monstermunch87 I'm 22 weeks currently and the movements are really strong (and I have an anterior placenta!) As baby gets bigger the movements are different, I remember having to dislodge some limbs from under my ribs a few times 🤣

I am feeling rather chilled with this baby, not buying much, will just see what he likes when hes here. The last few weeks have dragged though!

Kiza · 31/05/2021 17:38

@MF1981 oh how lovely, one of each!!
I'm currently 22 weeks and have been feeling movement for about 3-4 weeks and definitely getting stronger, not enough for partner to feel just yet.
We are incredibly fortunate that my sister has pretty much loaned us everything from her 2 year old son and getting a buggy system 4th hand from a friend so only needing to buy a few bits. Some things are not in great condition or our style but we just think that he will grow out of it so quickly that we'd rather save the money for other things.
Crazy to think most of us are half way now!

MF1981 · 01/06/2021 17:54

Thanks @kiza !

Is anyone else getting swollen ankles in this heat?!

Kiza · 01/06/2021 19:46

@MF1981 hahaha was just about to post this!! My feet have literally doubled in size but then also realised my calves have swollen too! Think it's going to have to be flip flops from now until due date! 😆

MF1981 · 01/06/2021 20:50

Haha @Kiza now I understand why all the other women I see at scans are wearing flip flops! Good job it’s getting to summer weather now!

Kiza · 01/06/2021 21:08

@MF1981 totally, I've just bought some cooling foot spray online as the skin feels so tight too! I feel like I've got swelling in my ass, hips and belly too... but think it's just weight gain 😆

LunaDreams · 05/06/2021 21:35

Hi all. Hope everyone is surviving the heat Wink

I'm 23+3 with a posterior placenta and have days when baby is really active, but others when I only feel him move a handful of times.

Is anyone else getting this or are they feeling movement more consistently?

I've been in to get it checked out once as didn't feel him all day and everything was fine but I'm so close to 24 weeks now when they say you should expect to see a pattern of movement that I'm beginning to get a bit worried.

LunaDreams · 06/06/2021 19:43

Just me then.....!
