I read a bit in “what to expect when you’re expecting” about this. It says that like humans they have active and lazy days so it doesn’t sound unusual. It suggests having an active day should lull it to sleep so then when you get home and chill out is should wake up and move about lots

I’ve not really started looking for a pattern yet - I’m just thrilled to feel it! I definitely would agree with busy baby nights after an active day though!

BeeP21 · 06/06/2021 20:34

Not sure if it's too late to join this thread but I'm just over 24 weeks, due late September. Anterior placenta so movements have been my main source of stress over the past few weeks. They come and go and can be strong or very faint and I can go for a whole day without feeling anything which really messes with my head. On top of that had my first vaccine today and counting the hours and days u til I can safely assume it's all gone well (and hoping the baby doesn't grow a third arm or a tail or something ConfusedGrin)

Mrsserenalewis · 07/06/2021 15:42

I have notice a pattern but little lady does have lazy day. Mostly when I’ve been really active. I assume she making her moves in the night on those days.

I tend to feel her when I want to rest.

Xx

@LunaDreams I'm 22 weeks with posterior placenta. I've noticed a pattern initially of movement after my evening meal when I'm sat down, however over the last week there is no pattern at all! Really random, sometimes the movement is full on, sometimes light, sometimes there's lots in an hour, sometimes I can go most of the day without feeling much.
I'm not going to worry too much about it until 28 weeks as I know that I have some days where I'm very active or have been to the gym and some more chilled out days so think he responds to that.

Aozora13 · 07/06/2021 19:25

TBH I’ve never really noticed a particular pattern with either of my previous pregnancies. Except that I tend to notice it more when I’m quiet and less when I’m busy. With DC2 I had an anterior placenta and did feel movements less, or possibly she was just more chilled (she’s much more chilled than her sister out of the womb). But if I thought oh I haven’t felt the baby in a while I’d drink something cold and she’d go berserk. The only time she didn’t I went into the hospital to check but of course she immediately started booting the thing they measure you with!

LunaDreams · 08/06/2021 08:39

Thanks for your responses all. I'm still feeling him every day so trying not to worry on quieter days. Have my 25 week MW appointment next week so can discuss it then hopefully.

Hope you're feeling ok after your vaccine @BeeP21. Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Hope everyone else is going well xx

Rant over 😂

The heat is intolerable at times isn't it! Makes me so grumpy 🤣🤣

Mrsserenalewis · 10/06/2021 11:46

I am struggling to get comfortable. Feel like a whale. Just need a ocean to cool down 🙈😂 X

Grumpy from lack of sleep due to melting in bed at night 😂🥵

Mrsserenalewis · 17/06/2021 07:20

The heat is unbearable. How far along are you now. Dreading the fact this isn’t even summer yet x

Grumpy from lack of sleep due to melting in bed at night 😂🥵
Ditto. Am 25 weeks today. Feel fat, hot and hungry 90% of the time!

But excited that getting closer and closer to meeting baby boy ❤

Kiza · 20/06/2021 21:36

Coming up to 24 weeks and top of bump is feeling tight, both the skin and internal. For the last 2 days have been struggling to get comfy as it feels the top part of the bump is all squished... first pregnancy so wondering is this the diaphragm being squished?

Moominmiss · 20/06/2021 21:54

@Mrsserenalewis I’m 27 weeks now. Apparently the heat is set to return in July. I usually love the summer and the hot days but I’m just wanting it to be over this year!

Monstermunch87 · 20/06/2021 22:17

25 weeks. Feeling alright but I get to the end of the day and am exhausted! I keep wondering what is wrong with me and then remembering oh wait I’m growing a person.

I tend to feel stretched when I eat too much or get bloated.

Had a stressful few weeks. One of the girls in the front row of my class had a positive coronavirus test but then got a negative pcr the next day so I ended up isolating for a single day! It properly freaked me out though so I am really looking forward to being able to work from home soon. Also some heavier leakage then usual meant I went to the antenatal clinic to check my waters hadn’t broken (they hadn’t). Here’s hoping the next few weeks fly by!

anniee8ava · 20/06/2021 22:39

I am 25 weeks now and everything hurts, back/hips/legs. I walk really slowly, was not like this with my last two babies. 4 shifts to go until they have let me off at 28 weeks though yayy. Not set to return until november 2022 so my longest (and last) maternity leave is so close 😁😁

Kiza · 28/06/2021 17:48

Is anyone else's midwife coming to their home to see them? Mines insisting (I've put up no resistance as it's more convenient for me) but I find it strange that she's been so pushy about it and none of my other pregnant friends have had this?
Has anyone else's midwife insisted on a home visit? I feel that my home is going to be analysed! 😁

Monstermunch87 · 28/06/2021 18:09

No I’ve not heard of that. Very odd!

Does anyone have any travel system recommendations? It’s a bit of a minefield!

Kiza · 28/06/2021 21:04

@Monstermunch87 I know, bit odd! Worried she's going to be inspecting my home!
Travel systems are a minefield for sure! Luckily we're being given second hand from my best friend so grateful that we didn't have to decide and get boggled by it all!

MrsTD88 · 28/06/2021 21:18

@Kiza in my area the Health Visitor does a home visit in the third trimester, maybe it is something similar? She just chats through her role once baby is born, talks through support systems and post partum etc X

Kiza · 28/06/2021 22:17

@MrsTD88 ahhh you're the first person so far to have said this, it's reassured me! The more I think about it I feel it would be beneficial if they all did 1 home visit.
Just did a free live zoom antenatal class from the honest midwife off Instagram. Was really good as an introduction to a longer course if any of you are interested?

Mrsserenalewis · 29/06/2021 11:36

When does everyone start maternity

Mine doesn’t start untill the 14th September (38weeks) but as I work in a school I only have two and half weeks then off for the summer holidays and back for two weeks before it starts

Not heard of midwife home visits during pregnancy but sounds like it’ll be helpful.

How’s everything doing. Has everything fully stocked up now x

I've heard of midwives doing home visits before, its nice your midwife has the time to do that I think. The health visitor has come to my home before and after baby with my other two.

I have three shifts left at work before I go off on 'covid leave' and then mat leave kicks in at 28 weeks. So excited to have 15 months off of work :)

I am starting to get things together for our hospital bags now, I am one who likes to be prepared way in advance though.
