I'm not being seen that often either, I'm 39 week and not seen mw since 36 weeks. Next appointment is when I'm 40 week so will have been a whole month

@TeaPiglet it seems to be vary based on the trust? I've been seen every 2 weeks since 34 weeks

I feel like the NHS trusts are literally just winging it with maternity care

@Safxxx rang my Dr's just now to query and receptionist there has just booked me in for this Friday on my 39 week. Seems like with mine if you don't ask you don't get 🤷‍♀️

There is definitely a variation in advice but not only trust to trust, I have seen a different consultant at each growth scan and they all have different opinions on inductions/due dates etc. All very strange & confusing especially when not been through the process before trying to make up your own mind. I wonder why they don't seem to be letting women get to 42 weeks anymore xx

My MW actually left last week and never told me she was going. Only found on through a mutual friend on Facebook! She had even booked me in for a sweep specifically on a day she was 'working' which seems bizarre since she knew she was leaving x

I've seen a different midwife every time, there's only one out of the whole district team I've never seen. I know you have to make allowances for covid but ffs bit of a liberty

I hardly see my midwife, theres a couple of them that take over, luckily the one who does take her place is mostly there when i have my appt, so i got to know her more.

@TeaPiglet yeah it's not great is it! Like you say can give allowances but just seems to be similar issues across the different trusts x

@Safxxx I've never been this pregnant before so no idea what should be happening at the end. I had an EMCS at 36+6 with DD

Do you always notice your mucas plug come away before labour starts?

@TeaPiglet i've got 3 kids and only noticed my mucus plug mixed with blood once with my middle child whilst having strong contractions.
So i guess it varies what sets off first.

@TeaPiglet bit like @Safxxx I've had 3 kids now and never really been sure if its been mucus plug or discharge so only ever noticed it slightly iyswim? This time if it was plug it came so slightly in dribs and drabs everyday for a good week before labour hth xx

Had my 41 week appointment. She was booking my induction for 41+5 as I went into the room. Apparently they do it automatically. I get a call on that day then to invite me in and if I say I’d rather wait a few days a senior midwife will phone me to discuss risks and increased monitoring. If I go in on the Monday at 40+5 I may just have the pessary and have a birth centre birth, but if I go over 42 no birth centre. Hopefully won’t get to that point.

Had my second sweep. Lot more uncomfortable than the first but breathed through it. Cervix much the same as last week so still just 1cm and posterior. She said it was a good sweep tho. Crampy since but not much else. Due another one on Thursday. Trying to stay positive 😬x x x

@Muriel84 🤞🏽 the sweep today gets this going or your other one on Thursday! If not that is still positive you could have induction on Monday and still labour in the birth centre. A lot can change in within a day at least you have the option of the induction booked in for Monday. Keep positive, cheeky baby keeping you waiting but your soo close now 💜

@Safxxx settling in well thanks, she sleeps all day and is up all night feeding tho so hope she gets her days and nights sorted soon! Other 2 dc were very good. Youngest just pointed "baby" and "girl" giggled the went off to play with his toys and eldest wanted to hold her for a cuddle. Had to put a step next to the pram when she's sleeping downstairs so they can keep looking at her safely without climbing up the pram!

Ì would say try not to let her sleep more then 3hrs during daytimes, keep waking her specialy from late afternoon to evenings, for feeds and change of nappy to proper wake her, then eventually she should sleep more at nights.
