@Muriel84 mine was £3 on Amazon! Where did you spend £10 on it 😨 xx

wannabe123 · 03/02/2021 20:43

Thanks for the new thread.
I had a scan and consultant appointment today. My baby is still breech and so I am getting booked in for a c section for about 2 weeks time. The good news is that my cyst has slightly shrunk. They will have a look at it once baby is out during my section and may remove it while they're in there.
Can't wait to meet our little boy now!

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 20:50

@MissKhan1990 Awe poor you, wishing you a speedy recovery Xx

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 20:54

@TeaPiglet thanks i'll probably do the same, nothing like going natural when our bodies are ready for it will happen, ofcourse if its more then a week then might consider it, but not on my due date. Xx

MacMummy95 · 03/02/2021 20:56

A fourth thread!! Wow!

Hope everyone is doing ok, and getting plenty of rest!

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 21:01

@Muriel84 few weeks ago i turned 40. So they saying its best i get induced if the baby don't arrive before due date.
I am fit & well no underlying health issues and baby is fine too, i did say to Doc its not like i got any risk factors, she said not now but anything can happen, i said if it happens we could then deal with it?? But she still insisted, but funny thing is same time as shes pushing for it shes saying its totally upto you its your choice 🤣🤣

TeaPiglet · 03/02/2021 21:09

@Safxxx hell no! She shouldn't be pushing you like that but especially not with no risk factors. You know your body and as long as baby's moving normal and you feel healthy then there's no grounds to pressure you.

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 21:10

@Thegirlhasnoname nice to hear from you and its lovely your daughter is bonding with her baby bro ❤
@Lnbarne hopefuly you go into labour before then 🤞

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 21:14

@TeaPiglet true, i've had my other 3 kids on time (except the 3rd one he was at 36wks) so i don't know why i'm worried hopefuly i won't go over due date. But if i do i will give it some time before intervention. Xx

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 21:19

@wannabe123 hope all goes well, will be good if they remove the cyst at the same time. 🤞

Stef92 · 03/02/2021 21:20

@Safxxx my husband's aunt was induced 3 years ago because she had just turned 40 so it must be just the way they do things 🤷🏼‍♀️ let's hope your baby arrives before the due date so it can be natural for you!

We've still got the builders in for the garage conversion but we've had a lot of rain so apparently the brickie may not want to work tomorrow so hoping I can get a lie in, 2 days into my maternity leave and I've been up early to make sure they have keys etc 🙄 lol

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 21:32

@Stef92 Thanks hope so 🤞
What a timing for the conversion lol if its not one thing its another ehh, hope you catch up with your sleep tmro and hopefuly builders do a speedy good job. Xx

Muriel84 · 03/02/2021 21:42

@Safxxx 🙄 I love that... you have the right to choose but here’s what we’re doing. I watched the positive birth company video on sweeps this afternoon and she talks incessantly about it being up to you but then firmly says don’t get a sweep at 40 weeks... strange how if baby was born a month earlier before your birthday they wouldn’t be telling you to be induced! Such a firm cut off. Happy belated birthday by the way!

@babydust2412 oh I just went into Holland and Barrett 🙈 didn’t even think to check amazon! Which was stupid cos trying not to go into shops! Ahh well. I’ll enjoy my overpriced oil 🤣 x x x

TeaPiglet · 03/02/2021 22:06

Has anyone tried raspberry leaf tea capsules? Any success? I'm trying for VBAC so I'm trying to resist clary sage temptation but I'm 37+4 and convinced labour will never happen lol

babydust2412 · 03/02/2021 22:10

@Muriel84 haha yes definitely enjoy every last drop at that price 😂❤️ hopefully it does something to help us 🤞🏼🤞🏼

babydust2412 · 03/02/2021 22:12

@TeaPiglet I've been taking raspberry leaf capsules since 37 weeks and am now 40 weeks so I know they haven't helped him to come out but apparently they help to make the second phase of labour shorter so hopefully that's the case xx ❤️

TeaPiglet · 03/02/2021 22:13

@Babydust2412 see that's what I was afraid of, I'm very sceptical about it all but I've been having hicks quite bad every other evening and tmi but had loose bowels Saturday but nothings happening and I'm bored of it haha

Newmumfeb2021 · 03/02/2021 22:17

Welcome ladies! I thought it would be a good idea to keep in touch until we’ve all had our babies and that’s why set up the 4th thread 😊

I have a question for mums who’ve already just given birth - what’s the protocol with NHS in terms of shielding? Are they asking you and baby to isolate for a period of time or have they said nothing? My parents and in laws are unable to fly in to UK but I have some family here, so me and DH are wondering whether it will be a good idea to let them meet us (with / without them isolating) when the baby is here. What is everyone’s opinion on this?

TeaPiglet · 03/02/2021 22:23

@Newmumfeb2021 DH and I have decided not to risk it. Purely because newborns have pretty much no immune system so we're bubbled with my parents currently to help watch DD while I go to appointments and he's working but after birth it'll be 2 weeks of no one then seeing his parents and not mine so his mum can help me through the day. I think it's personal choice through calculated risks these days

OnNaturesCourse · 03/02/2021 22:38

Hi all.

Here to mark my place in the new thread 👋

I've been popping in and out to check in but I've been getting kept very busy between DD and this little lad who is currently asleep in my arms.

In terms of isolation... My hospital didn't mention it directly. It was more of a general comment in conversation, sort of "this whole situation is strange, how are you finding / what sort of isolation have you done?" in passing by midwives etc.

We are bubbled with my mums household so we've visited them, and they had DD when I was in labour. We allowed our other parents to visit the day we got home from hospital - wearing masks and washing hands on entry to the house plus removing shoes and outdoor coats etc at the door. They've not been back since, it was a one off kind of thing with as many safety procautions in place as possible. One of the reasons we allowed it was DP works with his father so was in close contact with him right up until 2 days before I gave birth so if the exposure was already there unfortunately.

It's definitely difficult making the decision to distance from family, we are from a large and close family on both sides. I already feel that they have missed out on so much with DS and its only been just under a week (and they've missed out on seeing DD adapting to being a big sister etc)

Newmumfeb2021 · 03/02/2021 22:39

@TeaPiglet same! That’s what we’re thinking as well. But sometimes families can go crazy and emotional and everything else. Lol. So we were thinking that if there’s a protocol in place , it’ll be easier to tell them that doctors have asked us to shield/ isolate until the baby is x weeks old. Also, without them we’re out of any help possible. So confused!! ☹️

Could you maybe tell them since you've been in hospital you are at risk/exposure so need to isolate for X amount of weeks? Then go from there... (you could then say the midwifes are advising no visitors which would be true if you were to directly ask them on the home visits they do)

Newmumfeb2021 · 03/02/2021 22:50

@OnNaturesCourse yes, absolutely! That’s what I wanted to know if midwives are concerned about isolating with babies. As I have heard that newborns are not at risk generally, so some family members may take this casually. Thank you so much 🤗💜

pampero · 03/02/2021 23:08

I'd agree, if youre concerned then say it's what the midwives are advising - your family won't know exactly what they said to you & hopefully that way you can do what your happiest with while appeasing family for a short while x

Safxxx · 03/02/2021 23:09

@Muriel84 thankyou (feel old lol)
You said they say don't get a sweep at 40wks? When do they recommend it then? Where did you watch that video?
