@MrsMcNtobe, that's what we have done - booked a gender scan for 17 weeks! Couldn't wait until 20 week scan. I have that at 21 + 1, is that not too late?

FTEngineerM · 05/03/2021 16:10

That grinds my gears @Kirky658 we tried for > 1 year for DC1 and people still assumed contraception failed Hmm were (pretty much) 30, soon to be married (thanks covid), own a house and have been together for years. WHY oh why is contraception failure your first thought grrrr.
er me know if you figure something shorty @MrsMcNtobe I haven’t found anything yet.

@MrsMcNtobe we have been ttc for 2 1/2 years too! We had 2 miscarriages last year. I’m forever getting asked by my husbands mama when we are having another and his auntie even tho she knows about the miscarriages! People are sometimes so insensitive, like you say people go through a lot it’s not always straightforward!

Gadea · 05/03/2021 16:28

@Kirky658 yes, I also find it annoying.

Yesterday I told friends and family and a few of them asked if we "planned it"! I didn't think that's something you ask anyone!

MrsMcNtobe · 05/03/2021 16:54

@AdventuresAwait that’s rubbish that your scan is when you’re over 21 weeks! I think the maternity services must be so busy, it’s rubbish having to wait though.

@Maybebaby29 I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriages! I had to lose weight before the fertility department would see me, lost almost 3 stone and I’m just waiting for people to make comment about ‘oh you lost all that weight’ etc etc - I could not care less about the weight I lost right now 😂 I think because it took so long that’s why I’m so anxious about something going wrong

Kirky658 · 05/03/2021 17:41

@mrsmcntobe @ftengineerm @maybebaby29 @gadea people really irritate me.

It sounds like you've all been through so much. It irritates me even more because I have endo I've had 2 surgeries before we could even ttc so really I've been waiting ages before we could get to this point so I guess we were lucky after my surgery 6 months ago that it stuck!

Ps-speaking of which-my consultant referral I mentioned I asked the midwife and its because of my endo surgery they want to keep a closer eye on me. So not a bad thing!

Rach921 · 05/03/2021 17:51

Just catching up on today. Loving all the scan pictures 🥰

Mamabearwhere · 05/03/2021 18:03

Ooh ladies just realised we’re getting super close to 1000 comments meaning we’ll have to create a 3rd thread 🥳 chatty bunch aren’t we 🤣

CherylLW · 05/03/2021 18:33

@Mamabearwhere I was thinking this... I wish they would allow it to carry on so people didn’t have to start searching for the next group! It will be the 3rd group for us September 2021 mums ❤️

2021mumma · 05/03/2021 18:34

@Kirky658 that’s interesting about consultant following endo. I had laparoscopy and endo removal in September and got pregnant 2 months later I will mention in my next appt

FTEngineerM · 05/03/2021 18:36

I realised that wasn’t meant to say shorty Confused something smart**

I swear my typing is getting worse.

You could make one now and then link it here @Mamabearwhere can all find it then

Bubbles1st · 05/03/2021 18:36

Well if someone creates it before this fills up then the link can be pasted for people to find.

We have had nearly everyone ask if baby was planned... it's so rude. Most people don't know we were struggling ttc and my defence due to age was to say we didn't think we would have any so I know it's fuelled it a bit but still hurts.

To everyone who has comment about it being a lockdown baby, I just point out there was no national lockdown in December ....

Ha ha thanks sorry I only suggested it and didn't actually do it 🤣

SP2Bx · 05/03/2021 21:21

@bluemagicalsky That is the exact advice I give everyone all the time, that and “Why worry twice?” I’m totally not a worrier, but I don’t know this just seems like I can’t ever get excited just in case!

On a separate note, is anybody else experiencing (or experienced before) spotting exactly in line with when your periods would have been if you weren’t pregnant?

Bit of background, I had what I assumed was a full on period that started 6th Jan. when I found out I was pregnant, that dated me as about 3.5 weeks. A few days later (when my period was due) I started having light spotting, not as heavy as the period back in Jan, but my GP referred me to the EPU and I had a scan at what I thought was 6 weeks but I measured at 8+6, mean last ACTUAL period was in December.

A month on from the start of that last spotting, and I’ve had a tiny tiny bit again today - surprise surprise, when my period would have been if the last lot of spotting was a period!

What is this craziness?!

I hope it’s even lighter this time and eventually stops, has anyone heard of this? (Sorry for the long post!)

bluemagicalsky · 06/03/2021 08:59

@SP2Bx Yeah I totally know what you mean.

I don't have this myself but I have definitely heard of it before. I've read about women that have a regular bleed every month while pregnant and all is absolutely fine. Why is the human body so confusing! Did the EPU say anything about it or the midwife at your booking appointment?

SP2Bx · 06/03/2021 09:55

@bluemagicalsky They couldn’t see where the bleeding was coming from at all and said whatever it is baby is oblivious and happy as Larry, so I’m less worried this time and also I’ve seen a midwife now so have someone to ring if I’m concerned which I didn’t have last time thankfully! I’ve heard of it too just just didn’t expect it to happen to me as I thought it was linked to low hormones but I am SO sick! (Also a good sign I know) Guess I’ll just have to keep an eye on it!!!

Kirky658 · 07/03/2021 08:18

@sp2bx my mum did when she was pregnant with me and it was like a heavy period they couldn't figure out what it was then it stopped about 12 weeks.

So we announced on Facebook last night, damm it feels real now 🤣 everyone has been so so lovely x

CherylLW · 07/03/2021 09:11

@Kirky658 don’t know if you know but there is now a 3rd thread for this group 😊 people are over there now x

Kirky658 · 07/03/2021 10:13

@cheryllw I didn't what's the link xx
