Great news on today's scans Smile

MrsMcNtobe · 02/03/2021 18:25

Is anyone around the 11/12 week
Mark and feel like most of their symptoms have died down/gone? I’m 11+4 and don’t have sore boobs anymore, the constant fatigue has passed and all I feel is that my appetite is a bit off (and I’m struggling to go to the toilet). I thought it was normal for this to happen heading out of the first trimester until I told my sister in law today that I was desperate for my scan to make sure everything was ok and she said ‘it will be, you still have symptoms don’t you?’ And I was like ehhh actually not really and now I’m stressed with 7 days to go til scan! X

CobleCloud · 02/03/2021 18:32

@Mamabearwhere sorry for the late reply to your question earlier in the day! I had my first scan last week and I was 11+3 and all was good, although I ended up measuring 11 weeks exactly so they couldn't do the NT/ fluid measuring but because I've opted in I get a bonus scan and I'm going back this Thursday when I'll be exactly 12 weeks for them to do the test. So do not worry they will booked you back in if needs be.

Congrats ladies on all this weeks scans so far. Smile

Kirky658 · 02/03/2021 18:35

@bubbles1st that's great news ❤️

Kirky658 · 02/03/2021 18:37

@coblecloud did they give you any reason why you measured a bit behind? I have such bad anxiety and I'm terrified I will be behind tomorrow, because I've planned out when I'm telling work etc I don't want anything to get in the way now... I'm starting to fret for sure. Also don't think I can fake another 'hospital appointment' if I needed to go back again, lol

CobleCloud · 02/03/2021 18:46

@Kirky658 I asked the question as I was a bit concerned but the sonographer assured me it wasn't a problem at all and 3 days is nothing as it is hard to pin point sometimes exactly when implantation occurred and the egg can take varying times to travel etc, she said a lot of the time those days get made up as baby doesn't necessarily grow at the same rate each day! This was my first scan too I hadn't had any private ones so my dates were purely based off my lmp.

Try to stay relaxed I know it's easy for me to say but last week I was a nervous/anxious mess! Let me know how you get on.. you may end up pleasantly surprised and measure ahead! Smile

Lozza85 · 02/03/2021 18:47

MrsMcNtobe yep, me too. I'm 11+4 as well and most symptoms have gone. I'm hoping it's normal. I've read that the placenta takes over around now so guessing that's why.

Mamabearwhere · 02/03/2021 18:51

@CobleCloud ah I see. Atleast you get to go back and have another scan so that’s good. @Kirky658 ah bless you try not to panic or worry too much, fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow hope all goes well.

Kirky658 · 02/03/2021 18:52

@coblecloud thanks hun ❤️ yeah that would make sense in terms of implantation etc. I'm fairly certain I ovulated on Xmas day... Lol. But for implantation I have no clue. I remember falling asleep 4 times on new years eve. I had a private one at 7+3 which read 7+6 so I'm hopeful I am still a bit ahead. Thanks for the reassurance xx

MrsMcNtobe · 02/03/2021 19:00

@Lozza85 that’s what I’m thinking too, I considered another private scan this weekend but I only have one week to go so need to just hang in there. When is your scan? X

Lozza85 · 02/03/2021 21:13

@MrsMcNtoBe mine isn16th March, still 2 weeks away. Just not sure if it's worth having another extra scan. I have my birthday and wedding anniversary between now and then so need to just try to focus on those I think

leftitlate37 · 02/03/2021 21:43

great news on the scans !! @MrsMcNtobe u can hang on in there! Found the last week much easier....Was same as u and had considered private scan before but once got to that last week u can count down the days! @Lozza85 plenty of fun celebration to keep u occupied!

MrsMcNtobe I’m about 12 weeks and my symptoms have disappeared to almost nothing over the past ten days or so. They seemed to increase then quite quickly calm right down. I’m trying not to worry about it, as everything seems to suggest it’s quite normal. I also remember that with my last pregnancy, I was really unwell at nine weeks, but on holiday feeling fine at 12, and that baby is now a healthy 5 year old! So my point is, at this stage, I would try to think too much of it, and just hang on in there for the scan.

Saying all that, I’ve been awake half the night worrying about my scan tomorrow. I know there is no logical reason to be scared, but I won’t relax until I see a heartbeat and get confirmation that there is only one in there. We know so many twins, and I am not exactly young!

MrsMcNtobe · 03/03/2021 08:28

@Lozza85 @leftitlate37 I said to my partner I need to just wait it out and try not to let anxiety take over everything .. it wouldn’t be normal if we weren’t worrying though!

MrsMcNtobe · 03/03/2021 08:29

@Equimum It’s so easy to drive yourself mad overthinking! What time is your scan? Keep us updated 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Equimum · 03/03/2021 08:31

MrsMcNtobe so true! Luckily it’s 9.30, so nice and early. Will let you all know how it goes.

Raem1 · 03/03/2021 08:35

Hi everyone

I've 13+3 and had my 12 week scan last Thursday. For everyone else who's had theirs did the sonographer also say they don't check/comment on the baby's heart until the 20 week scan? I though they'd have listened to it and checked the rate and all sorts by now?

For those worrying about symptoms. The worst part of my sickness disappeared at about 8 weeks. I had mostly tiredness from 8-10 or so but since 10 weeks I've been feeling much like myself and everything was absolutely fine!

Good luck for all scans and results this week Smile

Mamabearwhere · 03/03/2021 08:35

@Equimum good luck with your scan hun, hope all goes well! X

Kirky658 · 03/03/2021 08:36

@equimum good luck this morning 🤞 mine is at 4pm, I was awake worrying like you in the middle of the night too!

Now random question. I'm curious as to roughly what you eat daily. Bearing in mind I run x 4 days a week and walk at least 5 miles on the other days. This morning I've ran, had 3 slices of brown toast for breakfast. Probably have grapes and bananas mid morning, lunch will be a sandwich crisps and choc bar, then probably a rice cake mid afternoon with Nutella, and then homemade cottage pie for dinner. Just curious as to how much you roughly eat if you don't mind sharing? Yesterday I ate sooooooo much chocolate, I had a 2 finger kit kat and one of the small dairy milk bars and felt so guilty!

Mamabearwhere · 03/03/2021 08:47

@Kirky658 gosh I am eating way more than ever but annoyingly nothing tastes nice or makes me feel full. I’ve had this insatiable hunger since week 5 combined with sickness. I have a piece of toast and cream cheese AND a bowl of bran flakes or 2 weetabix for breakfast (#1) with some kind of berries. By 9:30 I’m starving again so will often have another bowl of cereal and a banana. By 11 I’m hungry again so will have some more fruit or ginger biscuits with a twirl chocolate (it’s the only chocolate I can stand at the mo). Lunch is 12:30 and the meal I struggle with the most as my nausea peaks around then and I can’t find anything that tastes nice. Sometimes I’ll make a sandwich, sometimes all I can stomach is toast and cream cheese again. Occasionally I’ll have a soup for lunch. By 2 I’m starving so will smack of crisps, nuts, cucumbers, fruit. I have dinner with my kids at 5 but I tend to have something boring and dry like plain rice or plain pasta as can’t stomach any sauce or meat/fish. I take a box of pre bedtime snacks into bed and have them for about 9pm usually more ginger biscuits or rice cakes.

This is ALOT of food I eat in a day and definitely a lot for me as I have a very small appetite when not pregnant. I just wish I was enjoying all this food. I’m really only eating to feel full so my sickness doesn’t feel worse.

Mamabearwhere · 03/03/2021 08:48

That’s meant to say snack on crisps *

Kirky658 · 03/03/2021 08:50

@mamabearwhere I don't think that's a lot really it sounds similar to me! I've found by having a larger breakfast it keeps the nausea at bay for me. I love toast and cream cheese can't get enough of it. I started off craving cheese all the time now its chocolate!

Squibble84 · 03/03/2021 09:09

Good luck to everyone having scans today!

Food wise - I’m eating shockingly little variety due to nausea! Scrambled egg on toast for breakfast usually, sandwich and crisps for lunch, dinner I can barely manage, maybe toast or another sandwich. Shockingly little fruit and the thought of veg is just bleugh!! 🙈

unicornpower · 03/03/2021 09:16

@Kirky658 good luck for today love, thinking of you! Wow I'm so impressed you're still running AND walking that far, i feel so lazy but I've been trying to build up walking again after the hospital but I just am out of energy so easily! I walk the dog for just over a mile and then i need a sleep- its horrid as i used to be so fit and active and now I'm like an old woman. In terms of food, I start feeling sick in the evenings so I tend to try and eat lots in the day- yesterday I had toast and jam for breakfast and then a banana around 11, my husband made focaccia which was divine so I sort of grazed on that throughout the afternoon with some crisps and grapes, I had a piece of cake about 3 and then a small portion of sausage and mash about 5 and then its bed by 8 to lie flat so I'm not sick. I'm finding I'm snacking so much but i just can't face big meals at all! Yours sounds fine for the amount of exercise you're still doing, after all making a baby is really hard work. I've definitely developed a sweet tooth and I have cake/choc/sweets every day whereas they were once in a blue moon before.

@Equimum good luck! Thinking of you!

Has anyone noticed a bump yet? I know its early days but I definitely have a round tummy now that doesn't go away after sleeping, like a pot belly almost but it's definitely a little bump! My boobs are also ridiculous, I've had to buy a new bra already. I just got a sports bra for now until I can get measured, for the ladies that have already gone through this, do you recommend getting a maternity bra or a different type? I'm a bit unsure what to get and I'm quite fussy with bras Confused
