Thought we could continue on here? Unless someone has made a different one.

@Squibble84
Yeah I had a scan at 7 weeks and another today at 11 weeks, I have my “official” first trimester one on the 8th. Was so nervous before today but baby was wriggling away with a strong heartbeat!

FTEngineerM · 26/02/2021 19:55

@Marshmallow123 I don’t blame you I couldn’t have waited any longer if the dating scan wasn’t today! Glad you saw them.

@leftitlate37 I think they do quick dip tests then send it off for bacteria growth tests and stuff maybe if it does show a uti? Get that pee on a petrie dish or something 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

Mum & Dad surprised me with a bottle of Nosecco and we had a socially distanced drink on the doorstep, so nice! Lovely chilled day.

My DH is a teacher to add to the teacher chat!

Hopefulmummie · 26/02/2021 23:12

Hi everyone just catching up... Glad everyone's scans are going well :) mines less than a week now I'm excited/nervous

I had 2 good days there without any nausea or sickness but came back with a bang tonight... There is nothing morning about morning sickness lol

@Kirky658 happy birthday 🎉 sounds like a lovely day. It was my birthday last week.. Had some non alcoholic kopperberg lol

Equimum · 27/02/2021 09:35

leftitlate37 sorry you are experiencing the UTI.

I’ve had similar, with lower abdomen discomfort etc. It got picked up from my midwife urine sample last week, and I was prescribed antibiotics and asked to do another test last Friday. I was asked to make an appointment with my GP, which they could not do until 12thMarch. I called yesterday as still having symptoms, and apparently (what they need to talk to me about on 12th March) is that the sample was in the wrong pot, so they couldn’t culture it. As I still have symptoms, they retested yesterday but don’t want to treat again until they know if Imm on the right antibiotic! So I’ve now had a UTI for nearly two weeks, and still don’t have the right treatment. Hoping this won’t cause any problems!

Equimum · 27/02/2021 09:42

Sorry, just realised I made that all about myself!

I hope you get better treatment leftitlate37

Squibble84 · 27/02/2021 12:36

@Kirky658 happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a nice little celebration despite the lockdown!

@Hopefulmummie solidarity on the morning sickness! Mine also came back with a vengeance this morning - although the 5am wake up from DD1 didn’t help! Praying to all the gods that by the time this baby comes, my toddler is sleeping through the night! 🙏🙏😭

Maybebaby29 · 27/02/2021 13:20

I had a uti it came up on my booking appointment, that’s what I’m putting my previous cramping down to! It’s hard to tell sometimes as we already have to pee loads of times a day already!
So I caved and had an earlier scan today! I’m ten days ahead of what I should be! So my dates have moved from 22nd to the 12th, that means I conceived on my period? 🥴Although it will
Probably change again when I have my nhs scan on the 10th! I’m slightly worried as the bleed I had in my previous scan has got bigger! They said it shouldn’t be a problem though, then I made the mistake of googling! Bad idea!

leftitlate37 · 27/02/2021 13:32

Ah @Maybebaby29dont Google!! We all do it and all know its the wrong thing to do!!
Glad u got a scan done, did they say u can leave the bleed as is? If you're worried you could always contact epu??
Its weird u also had uti picked up but as u say hard to know what is just peeing more cos pregnant?! Did you get antibiotics?
Blimey @equimum that's not good yours has been going back and forth a while?! I know they r busy but not getting an appt til 12th when something that needs sorting is mad! Hope u get sorted soon.
Guessing I won't get answers at weekend so will have to wait til Monday...and in the meantime keep drinking plenty of water!
Sorry for those whos sickness has come back with a vengeance:(

Maybebaby29 · 27/02/2021 13:43

@leftitlate37 it’s so hard not to tho! All it does it bring more worry so I won’t bother in future! I haven’t bled at all they found it on my last scan, I was hoping it would have been reabsorbed on this scan but it hasn’t! I’m hoping by my dating scan it will be gone.
The doctors gave me antibiotics for my uti, after I had my booking appointment, they text me a week later saying I needed to send another sample in but gave no reason so I was worrying! But then a few days after I dropped my second sample off I rang up and the doctors said they’d prescribe my antibiotics. I didn’t really have any symptoms of it tho, I had cramps but purely put it down to growing but it maybe could have been that! They said they are fairly common and it won’t bother baby

Duesept21 · 27/02/2021 15:06

Another teacher here 🙋🏼‍♀️ I told my head at 6 weeks as I knew I'd need time off for my midwife appointment plus I had horrendous sickness last time and expected to be the same again (which I am). Also he's already sorted a risk assessment. He did say the current guidance is that pregnant ladies should not work past 28 weeks but as it will be June time when I'm at that stage, things will hopefully back to (the new) normal.

Finally got my scan date through - 11th March when I will be roughly 12+2 and I really can't wait 😊

Mamabearwhere · 27/02/2021 16:24

@Darklava09 I told my boss and my (two) team members at 6 weeks because I was floored with nausea and sickness and I needed them to know why so they don’t think I’m slacking. They’ve been amazing and really supportive. HR doesn’t know yet and I’m waiting to get into 2nd trimester before letting the wider company know.

Hope everyone’s scan have gone well! Mine is still 3 weeks away and I’m super excited! Someone mentioned their friends finding out gender at 12 weeks scan, it was the same for me with both my previous pregnancies so I’m really hoping they can tell me again this time.

Anyone find their morning (all) sickness has got worse towards 10 weeks? I didn’t think it could get any worse but all my safe food options are now off the list and making me really nauseous :( can only tolerate cold chopped up apple now!

Kirky658 · 27/02/2021 17:46

@mamabearwhere mine got terrible about 9 weeks in. I felt vile. Apparently very normal as your HCG peaks around that time. Thankfully I'm 11 weeks today and it is OK. But I still can't stomach apples!

Duesept21 · 27/02/2021 20:12

@Mamabearwhere yes my nausea definitely picked up between week 9 and 10 and I actually think my worst day was exactly 10 weeks. I'm 10+4 today and although I still feel crappy, today has been one of my better days. I'm managing the sickness through eating my 'safe' foods (a very short list) and avoiding any hot food/meals. Also eating whenever I feel slightly hungry no matter what time of day it is. It's the bad taste in my mouth which makes me feel worse at the minute so lots of toothbrushing and mints kind of help.

Just discovered last night that pineapple goes down well but then read mixed messages about eating it Confused although I also read not to eat deli meats and one of the only things I'm managing right now is ham and cheese sandwiches...

Gadea · 27/02/2021 20:49

@Duesept21 according to the NHS site ham is safe

www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/have-a-healthy-diet/

Take a look at the Healthy snacks in pregnancy section

Duesept21 · 27/02/2021 21:55

@Gadea great thanksSmile

bluemagicalsky · 28/02/2021 08:52

Good morning ladies. Hope it's okay to join. I'm a FTM and 11 weeks today, EDD 19th September. 12 week scan on 10th March. I'm so desperate to start feeling myself again, can't come soon enough. Hope everyone is well and lovely to see some scans on here.

Poppysmile · 28/02/2021 10:58

Hey guys anyone around 11 weeks and there morning sickness is subsiding for the past 2 days it hasn’t been as bad as it normally has, anyone the same?

RadDarwazeh · 28/02/2021 11:08

@poppysmile yep I'm coming up to 11 weeks and I also feel nausea has subsided.

Hi @bluemagicalsky I also don't feel quite myself. I go through phases of lovingly rubbingn my small bump/bloat and then not feeling preggo at all. I have a scan on mother's Day (lol) and then an NHS one at 13 weeks

unicornpower · 28/02/2021 11:35

@Poppysmile I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and aside from a blip with sickness yesterday morning (I blame having to wear a mask in tesco) I have felt much better for a few days! So much so I started panicking but everything looked good on a scan on Friday. I think its fairly normal Grin

Has anyone else found that they are constantly starving? I woke up at 3am the other night and needed a snack! I've also developed a real sweet tooth, I was never that fussed about chocolate/sweets etc but now I'm like a monster with cake and chocolate Confused

Poppysmile · 28/02/2021 11:37

@RadDarwazeh @unicornpower Thankyou for replying made me feel a lot better because I was starting to worry too but you have made me feel better

bluemagicalsky · 28/02/2021 12:29

@RadDarwazeh Love that you have a scan booked for Mother's Day. Trying to convince DH that I deserve a card, but not getting very far 😂
@Poppysmile My nausea has definitely improved recently but still bad in the evenings. Think it's normal and I can't wait for them to go completely. Exhausted!

Squibble84 · 28/02/2021 13:41

Hope everyone’s doing ok! This might be massively premature but does anyone know when we’re meant to stop sleeping on our front (and back!) I can’t remember from last time, all I remember was by the end of the pregnancy, I was sick of just sleeping on my side!

Bubbles1st · 28/02/2021 13:58

@Squibble84 I believe your front is once it becomes uncomfortable and you can't really do it anymore. Back is after the first trimester I believe.

Fortunately I don't do either !
