Loving these scan pics! Congrats everyone, so exciting! Got our 12 week scan next week, nervous but just want it to come round now.
@Moominmiss don't blame u having so many early scans, can't imagine what you've been through b4 huge congrats though now. Dont feel like something will go wrong cos its going too smoothly, keep positive! I'm similar age to you, whats the private test u r having.. something different to on nhs scan(assuming u are UK!)?
Relieved its the weekend here....tiredness has been real this week, also feeling super podgy. Waist has defo disappeared along with my abs and even my leggings aren't comfy with a load of excess spilling over, bleurgh! Once I know everything is fine I'll be happy, just feel like I've had too many cakes right now!!

Moominmiss · 19/02/2021 22:52

@leftitlate37 thank you, I’m feeling much more positive this time around, then I feel guilty for feeling like that and think I’m just tempting fate. Silly I know.

The private test I’ll be having is the NIPT (harmony) test. Because of my age the NHS combined screening risk will automatically come back as high risk, think it will automatically start at something like 1/150. The NIPT is a more accurate blood test that looks at the fetal dna in the mother blood. But without being invasive like the amnio or CVS testing.

Good luck for your scan!! I’m sure all will be amazing. I can’t wait to get to that stage!!!

Be sure to update here!

@brightspark12 @moominmiss @chica1990 they all look amazing ladies thanks for sharing and glad all looks good xx

Duesept21 · 20/02/2021 18:30

Hi all,

Not been on here for a while so just been reading the last 4 pages of messages.

I've had nausea since 6 weeks and now I'm 9+4 it's definitely the worst it's been so far. I can't eat a normal meal without vomiting so it's just constant snacking keeping me going. My current diet is Weetabix minis, ham sandwiches (only on toasted white bread - usually only eat wholegrain seeded!), Snack a jacks, cottage cheese and tunnocks caramel wafers!
Saw my midwife at 8 weeks who did bloods and urine (all fine) but still waiting on my scan date. Been desperately checking the post all week but nothing yet. Really hope it comes on Monday as only our parents know and I'm desperate to tell the rest of our families.

Also I'm definitely feeling chunky around the middle and have ordered some bargain maternity shorts from h&m and a top from TU ready for when I need them. Also got a box of maternity clothes from the last time but they are mainly winter clothes as I had my daughter in April.

showmorekindness · 20/02/2021 19:23

Hi everyone - just wondering if anyone feels they have a bump yet?
I'm 9+2 and starting to freak out about the 12 week scan following a MMC last year. I keep hoping for signs the pregnancy is progressing and I think I have a little bit of a bump starting but it could be in my head! Do you think you have a bump yet? Particularly FTMs as I know bumps show earlier if you have had a previous baby

Congrats on all your scans x

Kirky658 · 20/02/2021 19:54

@showmorekindness I'm 10 weeks today and I'm sure I am starting to show now! I'm a first time mum 😊 either that or I'm just bloated and fat from the snacking 🤣🤣

Bubbles1st · 20/02/2021 20:44

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and although I'm
Overweight and usually bloated I am definitely changing shape and looking a bit pregnant 🤣 I'm taking photos every week to keep track.

My tummy also feels different to the touch, less wobbly and firmer.

leftitlate37 · 21/02/2021 09:13

thanks @Moominmiss ill look into that! feel a bit clueless at the mo!
@showmorekindness no bump as such but definitely got a fat chubby waist all of a sudden! trousers and leggings getting tight with some, ahem, overhang :s
feel like im glad I can cover up with thick coat and jumpers etc. Then was like what am i gonna do come summer and massive?! theyll be no hiding anywhere!!

Poppins2016 · 21/02/2021 09:27

Hi all, I'm late to the party (didn't dare join in before in case I got bad news, I'm high risk for miscarriage)! My 12 week scan is booked in for tomorrow, I'm feeling reasonably positive as I had a scan at 6 weeks (needed to rule out ectopic) and saw a heartbeat.

@showmorekindness I didn't have a bump at this stage with my first (now 12 weeks) but I have a hint of a bump with my second (muscles have been pre-stretched!). I was very bloated with both pregnancies and went very flat stomached (once it settled down) before popping out again, so don't be worried if that happens!

@Duesept21 apparently 9-10 weeks is generally considered the peak timing for morning sickness (certainly was for me, but of course everyone is different)... Fingers crossed you'll be through the worst of it very soon.

Poppysmile · 21/02/2021 10:13

Hey guys does anyone else get super paranoid I’m 9+2 and Iv booked another scan today after having one at 7 weeks because I jusg over think everything, I haven’t had any problems maybe a little achey tummy yesterday but nothing that worried me but I just wanna go again to make sure everything is okay? Please tell me I’m not the only one doesn’t help that I’m emotional today!!!

Maybebaby29 · 21/02/2021 10:27

Hi! Can I join please? I’ve been stalking this thread for a while now but I’ve been paranoid about me having another MC so I’ve been holding back! We have 2 children already, Been TTC for 2 1/2 years now, 4 previous mc’s so I’ve definitely been nervous about this pregnancy! Against the advice of my mum and husband I booked an early scan last Saturday to check there was even anything there! Luckily there was! ☺️ The scan person said there was a small bleed around the sack but said it happens often and it won’t affect the baby. I should have been 8+3 but they measured me at 9 weeks. I’m due 22nd of September according to my LMP. So I’m not sure which measurement to go on! I’ve been debating on whether to book another scan next Friday or Saturday, just to make sure everything’s ok before I go for my nhs one. My husband and mum don’t want me to have anymore other than the ones on the nhs but they don’t understand the worry at all 😔 my appetite has come back slightly and I’m not feeling as nauseous anymore which worries me even tho I hated it when I felt ill all the time 🙈 I don’t know if I’m being silly booking another one. My 12 week scan is on the 10th, I have to go an hour early for COVID test and wait in the car park for the results to come back 🙈 it’s been lovely seeing everyone’s comments and seeing I’m not the only one with worries (I thought I was going a bit cray cray)

Chica1990 · 21/02/2021 11:21

@Poppysmile I had one at 6 weeks and caved and had another on Friday at 10 weeks, I understand the worry. It’s part of anxiety jumping to the worst conclusions, I’d go for it as I feel a lot better now.

@Maybebaby29 I understand you would want to go again if they mentioned a bleed. I couldn’t bear waiting between 6 and 12 weeks so went for it on Friday at 10 weeks and feel so much better now. I guess you need weigh up if the money is worth the reassurance x

Poppysmile · 21/02/2021 15:34

@Chica1990 Your so right I feel so much better after the scan can relax now everything is good seen the heart beat and baby has tripled in size since I last went so I’m so happy

Hey girls I just had a quick query, OH wants to order takeaway from our fave burger place tonight and I ALLLWAYSSS get a chicken burger with buffalo sauce and blue cheese Mayo, it’s a smooth mayo so no lumpy bits of blue cheese - do you think it’s ok to eat? Had no appetite in weeks and suddenly this sounds SO good 😭

It sounds as though the sauce is probably cooked in the process of making it, I guess you could call to check?!

To be honest I'd eat it regardless if you fancy it, but I'm not exactly the poster child for following the guidelines to the letter... I've eaten blue cheese and a small amount of pate since finding out I'm pregnant... I figured it was better to eat what I fancied rather than eating nothing at all! The chances of actually getting listeria are very low (I've never become unwell from blue cheese or pate before) but of course there is a risk and it's important to assess what you're comfortable with.

Poppins2016 · 21/02/2021 17:12

Side note. I really fancy a burger with blue cheese sauce, now... @MrsMcNtobe 🤣

MrsMcNtobe · 21/02/2021 17:15

@Poppins2016 I was too scared and changed at the last minute.... fried chicken burger with airacha Mayo, salt and pepper chips and a side of Mac and cheese. Salad on the burger and I’ll have a diet irn bru so it’s all good 😂😂 I haven’t looked forward to a meal as much in so long 🤣🤣

Equimum · 21/02/2021 18:03

MrsMcNtobe if they use a ‘bought in’ sauce it’ll be pasteurised, abs if they make their own, they’ll have to heat it through, so it should be fine. You could always ask though - they should know if it’s pasteurised. Enjoy your burger!

Kirky658 · 21/02/2021 18:16

@mrsmcntobe omg I really really wanna chicken burger now 🤣🍔

@MrsMcNtobe

Mmm that still sounds rather nice!

I've just put burgers and blue cheese (I'll cook it!) on the shopping list. Haven't craved anything so much in so long! 🤣

Scotti84 · 21/02/2021 18:41

Hey all, got my 12 week scan tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous. I’ve had no bleeding or massive pain, few twinges n period pain feeling a bit but I’m just really worried somethings gone wrong. I don’t know why, I’ve done nothing wrong and tried to be sensible with stuff, I’m just so worried the scan will show something not good. Anyone else feel like this? I’ve turned into such a worrier! Is this also a side effect? I’m normally pretty grounded and calm, I don’t like this weirdness!

Mamabearwhere · 21/02/2021 19:09

@Scotti84 I think how you’re feeling is totally normal and I’m sure you’re not alone, we all go through some level of worry in the first trimester because of the uncertainty etc but just take each day as it comes. If you’ve had no bleeding and pain then just try to remain positive and calm. I know it’s really hard to do, I think I did 4/5 early scans in my first pregnancy because every week I was so worried something was wrong. Let us know how your scan goes tomorrow :) xx

Taybz · 21/02/2021 19:57

Hi @Scotti84 I totally get what you're feeling as it's the same way as I feel. My scan is a couple of weeks and I've been so very anxious. The only thing that has been helping me through these past few days has been trying to distract myself. I've been listening to a lot of happy feel music and watching comedies on Netflix. I'm an over thinker and over-worrier but I'd just advise to distract yourself in any way you can. I'm sure everything will go well for you tomorrow, best of luck! x

RadDarwazeh · 21/02/2021 20:05

Hi everyone, loving reading your stories and scans and burger chat!

Last appt I had my BMI checked. I'm just over the tipping point so midwife said I'll need extra folic acid and / or aspirin. I feel disheartened like I'm already doing something wrong :(

Kirky658 · 21/02/2021 20:50

@scotti84 I've got my 12 week scan a week on Wednesday and I'm starting to get nervous now. Just consoling myself knowing I've done everything I was told, and my bloods etc were all good last week too x
