@poppysmile if its the normal winter flu jab I had mine last September as I've got asthma. Apparently the normal flu jab is perfectly safe for pregnant ladies but the covid one should be avoided unless advised by your gp. X

I have been the nurse reassured me it was just the normal flu jab they didn’t do the COVID vaccine in my doctors so that made me feel abit better, Thankyou for replying @Kirky658 xxx

@Poppysmile I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago. It felt a bit odd getting it so late in flu season but glad I did, just incase!

This had just reminded me that I need to book my flu jab. It feels a bit pointless given that there isn’t my a flu outbreak this year, but it would be Sod’s law, if I don’t have it, I’ll be the one person to get affected.

I’ve just had a call from my GP to say that my booking urines show signs of an infection. DH has just gone to collect antibiotics for me, and I am resisting the urge to Google what could go wrong!

Hiya all got my scan today at 8+1 I’m sooo nervous. Has anyone else had an internal scan? I’m wondering what to wear 😂 it’s raining here so I don’t want to wear a dress really but then will I be given time to change and protect my modesty 😂

@Equimum I’d try not to worry, it might just be a uti, my doctor had said they’re more common in pregnancy and don’t harm the baby, they’re just uncomfortable. Keeping my fingers crossed that it clears up quick!

@Brightspark12 I’ve had three of them 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 not the most comfortable of things but the drs aren’t bothered. I just wore jeans and a long top, my dr has a small area with a curtain to take your bottoms off then I made sure my top was long enough to cover me until I was in the chair, legs akimbo and no chance of modesty 😂😂 tbh though both myself and the dr concentrate more on the scan than anything else and it’s done pretty quick, hope it goes well for you!

9 weeks today. Food aversions still strong and a few terrible migraines. Have my booking appt over the phone on Thursday, and will then be scheduled for screening and ultrasound at the sound appointment.

@Equimum I wouldn’t worry and don’t google as well. My midwife at booking app told me sometimes a urine infection can make nausea worse so other than that I wouldn’t worry about anything else being wrong. Hopefully antibiotics will clear it up in no time. Xx

@InTheLibrary I’m also 9 weeks today ☺️ Same here regarding food aversions although I randomly fancied almonds today which is the first time in almost 4 weeks that I’ve had any sort of desire for a specific food. Hope your migraine pass soon, I know it’s hard but try to up the water if you’re not too nauseous. Xx

Thanks Scotti84 & Mamabearwhere . I know they are generally nothing to worry about. I think the. Just caught me when I was feeling a bit anxious and it made be catastrophise. I have the antibiotics now, so hopefully all will be well.

I’m feeling less nauseous lately, I can’t remember exactly when it stopped but I realised today I don’t feel sick. I have been getting a lot more sleep so maybe that’s helped.

I’ve been reading conflicting things, when exactly is the second trimester? 12/13/14 weeks?

@FTEngineerM from the book I bought it’s at 12 weeks, i turned the page to a big double page spread of congrats and what to expects, I’ll go with that 😂

Yaaaay that is so close 😍 I’m suspicious I’m further along than the last scan calculated since I’m feeling so good. We’ll see next week.

I had my scan today, baby measured in at 12+2 so due 1st September!

@brightspark12 how did the scan go?

I am 9+6 today, less than 2 weeks till my 12 week scan, eep!

Hi, am due 31st Aug, thought ad join this group as quite alot of good advice. Am 12+2 & have my nhs scan thurs which i cant wait for feels like ave been pregs for 6 months not 3. Suffering with really bad sickness & tiredness. This is my 2nd pregnancy & suffered bad last time too. Last time the sickness lasted 8 months but eased up abt 20ish weeks to once a day.
Dont really have anyone to chat to abt the struggles, last time a good friend was due same date so we got each other through. Thought joining this group would help me not feel like am the only one out there feeling rubbish & worried constantly x

So everything fine guys... strong heartbeat they said... but they only measured me as 6 +1 and I thought I was 8+1. My last period was 24th December... they said I could have ovulated late but I don’t think the dates add up. I have read that sometimes dates are wrong at early scans and then catch up at 12 weeks so i hope so!

Hi, I think I’ve joined this thread already, not sure lol.

I’m 8+5 today and had my fourth (🙈) early scan yesterday at what I thought was 8+4. It dated me a day ahead at 8+5. Don’t think the odd day means much at this stage though.

Was an amazing scan. SO different to my earlier ones (had them at 5+4, 6+2 and 7 weeks). We saw a heartbeat at all of them but yesterday’s was just wow. The baby was so much bigger and properly wriggling around and waving. Was lovely. Think it’s made it really real for my partner.

I have one more private scan booked for 9+6 and then will wait for my 12 week scan.

As I’m older (38) will also be opting for a private NIPT test which I’m extremely nervous about. After 4 miscarriages it feels like things are all going a bit too smoothly so far.

But as of right now I’m super happy!

I'm 11+1 today and still haven't got a date for my 12 week scan. Because I hadn't received a letter, I gave them a call this morning and they said that they don't have any slots and they will be calling me next week or the following with short notice to go to my scan 🙈

@Brightspark12 yours looks bigger than mine did at 6 weeks I think sometimes they have growth spurts! It’s so hard to tell that early I think?

I thought I was 10 weeks today and had a scan and I’m measuring at 10+2. Good heartbeat and it was wiggling around! It was amazing and I was shocked everything was ok after the state I got myself in.
