Thought we could continue on here? Unless someone has made a different one.

Hopefulmummie that’s brilliant news!

Lozza85 · 09/02/2021 11:55

@hopefulmummie that's great! I had mine on Saturday at 8+1. It's a pretty amazing feeling 🥰

Scotti84 · 09/02/2021 12:08

Hopefulmummie · 09/02/2021 21:18

Thank you everyone. Makes the sickness all worth it x

KHR1 · 10/02/2021 10:39

Hi! Hope it's not too late to join! Smile
I'm 10+5 (this will be my second, DD is 17 months).

RadDarwazeh · 10/02/2021 10:47

Hi everyone hope you don't mind me joining. How are we all this morning? I'm 7 weeks today, baby is a raspberry size apparently! Got my booking appointment next week and a telephone midwife call soon after that.

Just got a question too... Anyone got advice on good leggings? The bloating is here to stay with a vengeance !!

Babymamma3 · 10/02/2021 11:04

Hey I have my appointment next week to and a phone call one I’m 8 weeks today , bloating has calmed down a bit now I wore leggings from new look or peacocks they helped when my jeans wouldn’t fit

bewitchingnight · 10/02/2021 12:42

Hello to everyone joining. I had my booking in appointment today at 9+5 and got the date for my scan which will be in about three weeks! Excited to be able to start counting down.
I was nervous about the blood test as I hadn't had one before and I'm a fainter.. did indeed faint and they had to try 4 times to do it Confused I hope that gets easier!

CherylLW · 10/02/2021 14:23

Hey everyone, I know this was mentioned on the first group we had... I’m 10+5 today I have sore boobs, tiredness and nausea but I can’t feel any twinges in my tummy anymore really...

I had an early scan at 8+5 and everything was looking perfect but now started to worry again!

I’ve got my nhs scan next week at 11+6 and I’m so worried as it was around that time last time I found out I had had a MMC. I know they say the chance of MC drops after you’ve seen the heartbeat (which I did at my early scan) but this lack of tummy twinges is on my mind constantly!

Anyone experiencing similar? Xx

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 10/02/2021 14:37

My scan today put my due date at 25th August, so I'm not sure if I'll end up in this group. Happy healthy little dumpling though, today was an exciting day. Bang on 12 weeks.

Taybz · 10/02/2021 15:14

Hi girls, I'm coming over from the 1st baby due September 2021 thread which seems to have closed. I'm 8+3 and I've had a high temperature for a while, not 37.5+ yet but very warm to the touch. Should I be worried?

Noodles4Me · 10/02/2021 15:25

@CherylLW poor you. Its awful isn't it, the worry? Apart from boobs and bloating I've not had many symptoms at all so constantly worry. I wish I could advise you to not think about it, easier said than done!

Booked my Harmony test for next Friday, 2 days after 12 week scan so can cancel if the worst happens.

Don't think I'll feel relieved from pregnancy stress till I'm holding my healthy baby in my arms. Then the other stress starts Shock

CherylLW · 10/02/2021 15:30

@Noodles4Me I think the worry with continue whatever stage were at!

I’ve seen a lot of people mention the harmony test... what’s this?

Noodles4Me · 10/02/2021 15:40

It's a more detailed screening for the fetus. It tests fetal DNA for the three main genetic issues and sometimes the sex DNA.

It's a private test, £350. I'm only getting it as because I'm 'old' my NHS screening results will always come back high, that's how they calculate it, and I need more assurance than that to possibly make decisions

gigi556 · 10/02/2021 16:08

@Noodles4Me out of curiosity, how old are you?

Noodles4Me · 10/02/2021 16:12

I'm just turned 39. First baby so the NHS ratio calculation will always come back 'high risk' no matter how good everything else could look.

Moominmiss · 10/02/2021 16:23

Can I join?

I’m 7+3 today. Have had 3 early scans so far (at 5+4, 6+2, and 7 weeks) because of 4 previous miscarriages.

Have another scan at 8+4 and one at 9+6 then whenever my 12 week one will be.

I’m 38 so ‘old’ in pregnancy terms. I will be opting to have the harmony test as my nhs risk result will be high risk.

When you get a high risk result from the nhs and get offered the amnio etc, does anyone know if hospitals ever offer the harmony testing?

I only ask because someone I know from a different county to me, so different nhs trust, had a high risk result, and was offered the harmony or amnio on the nhs. She opted for the harmony and it was done via her hospital free of charge.

Obviously if I can have it done via my hospital through the nhs instead of paying £400 then that would be great lol. Think I’ll ask my midwife when I see her in a couple of weeks.

Also, again regarding the harmony test, I know it can be done from 10 weeks, but is there an ‘optimum’ time to have it done? Like I feel 10 weeks is too early and not enough of the baby’s dna will be in my blood, but equally don’t want to leave it too late if that could also affect results.

X

Bubbles1st · 10/02/2021 16:49

@Moominmiss
Hi and welcome hope all continues to go well for you.

When the midwife I spoke on Monday was explaining the testing they offer, she explained about if the DS risk came back as high I could have the invasive nhs tests which come with additional risks. She mentioned the harmony test and said whilst our trust doesn't offer it some trusts do, so fingers crossed you may have access to it.

Lozza85 · 10/02/2021 17:10

@bewitchingnight I have my booking appointment on Friday at 9 weeks. Did they give you your scan date at the appointment or do they send you a letter later?

@Noodles4Me do you know what the NHS classes as "old" for screening? I'm 35....

Moominmiss · 10/02/2021 17:19

Thank you @Bubbles1st, I hope you have a great pregnancy too.

Yes it would be a bonus if my nhs trust offers the nipt testing, but at the end of the day, we knew from the start we’d opt to have it done so we set aside the money before we even got pregnant.

Hopefully I’ll find out in a couple of weeks.

I’m just desperate to get passed that point with hopefully done positive news. I know that even though I know my nhs screen result will be high risk, seeing it in writing will be really scary. My previous pregnancies were when I was much younger and all had extremely low risk results.

Scotti84 · 10/02/2021 18:11

That’s also my worry atm, first is that everything is ok at my next scan as it’s been 4 weeks since the last and I’ll be happy of the reassurance and then the harmony test results. Trying to stay positive and take it one step at a time, if something shows on it then we’ll have to decide what to do next.

bewitchingnight · 10/02/2021 19:20

@Lozza85 when I got there they said I would hear in the next day or so but they must have been able to book straightaway so ended up telling me whilst I was there. They booked the 16 week appointment then as well.
